Week Twenty-Three

In Week Twenty-Three of the competition we had just one player to pick up the full £6 cash weekend prize money. The cash went to her second win of the season EMMA NEWMAN who wins on a total of 14 goals which is her personal best.
Emma had to share her first win in Week Twenty of this season and she has still only had two blank weekend score sheets. Her best team is still Manchester City.

DUMBARTON 2, MANCHESTER CITY 7, RAITH ROVERS 5

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Only two of us failed to pick up any goals in midweek this week but we had two players that picked up the most amount of goals with sixteen each. They are KAREN SMITH and our 2016/17 Champion JOHN WOOD. Both of them have Arsenal and Tottenham as part of their combination but Karen has Manchester City while John has Manchester United as their third team. So the race for the cash has changed once again this week as we now have twenty-six of us with 50 or more midweek goals. GRAHAM HARRIS is still way out in front as he picks up eleven goals and he now has a total of 74 goals. His combination is Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom. In second place and now nine goals behind Graham, we still have JOHN DAVIES with a total of 65 goals. In third place with a total of 64 goals we now have ANN WELLARD down from two this week. Down to fourth place on 62 goals we have JUNE TIGHE. In fifth place straight in this week is TERRY GOODEY with a total of 56 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS
This weekend all but ten of us have picked up some goals and what a great start to 2019 we have had from our teams.
Even though we had a total of sixteen teams with out a game over the weekend we then had another ten teams that failed to score any goals. But after that, the average score went up from five goals from last weekend to a fantastic 7 goals this weekend.
The highest score that we had this weekend came from the FA CUP third round where MANCHESTER CITY picked up their biggest score of the season by winning 7-0 at home to ROTHERHAM. City have now taken their goals total to 69 and this could be another season of 100 from them. Rotherham are out of the cup as they picked up their tenth blank of the season and just two goals in their last five games.
