Week Thirty-Five

In Week Thirty-Five of the competition we a total of four winners who won on a total of 10 goals each to share our eighth Rollover of the Season worth £12. They are all first time winners for this season which now brings our winners total to thirty-eight. Our winners are DANIEL GOODSON, MIKE PEPPERRELL, DAVID SOMERVILLE and STEPHEN STUBBS.
Daniel has been with us for six seasons now as he started with Golden Goals in our 2013/14 Season on where he finished in 73rd place on a total of 260 goals and picked up one shared weekend win. Last season Dan finished in the winning frame in 6th place on 316 goals. This season he has picked up a total of five blank score sheets and his highest position is 27th place in Week Five. Mike started with us in the 2000/01 Season where he finished in 89th place on 229 goals. In the 2002/03 Season he became our Champion with a total of 338 goals and is currently in fourth place in our Champions League. Last season Mike finished on a total of 244 goals which left him in 121st place. This season he has picked up four blank score sheets and his highest position is 33rd in Week One. David started with us in the 1995/96 Season but it was not till the 2009/10 Season that he became Champion. In that season he finished top on a total of 332 goals and won two shared weekend wins. last season he finished in 93rd place on a total of 260 goals. This season, Dave has picked up five blank score sheets and 4th place is the highest that he has been in Week Fourteen. Steve started with us in the 1994/95 Season and he is one of our long serving players of the competition. The nearest that Steve has got to be Champion was back in the 2000/01 Season in 5th place. Although he has finished a few season’s in the winning frame he is still looking to be Champion. Last season he finished in 132nd place with a total of 237 goals. This season Steve has been as high as 23rd place in Week Fourteen. He has picked up five blank score sheets. Our winners teams are

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Only ten of you managed to pick up some goals in midweek this week and we have not added any new players name to the list with 50 or more midweek goals again this week and we remain with a total of 125 that have reached that mark.
So once again we still have GRAHAM HARRIS at the top who now needs just one goal to win the cash. Graham has Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom and a total of 99 goals. In second place with 91 goals we still have KELLIE STRATTON. In third place we still have JOHN DAVIES now with a total of 90 goals. In joint fourth place we have JUNE TIGHE down from two and back in the race ADAM SANSOM both with 88 goals. Down from four to five we have DANNY HARRINGTON on a total of 86 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS
We had most of our teams in action over weekend with twelve of them failing to score any goals and another nine teams that had no game. So the weekends average score shot up from a flat zero to a modest 5 goals.
The highest score that we had came from the English Championship where DERBY who won 6-1 at home to ROTHERHAM. That is Derby’s biggest result of the season and that brings their goals total up to 68. Rotherham picked up goal number 44.

PREMIERSHIP
We now have the top nine teams here with LIVERPOOL top as they win 2-1 at home to TOTTENHAM in third place. Both teams are now on a total of 74 goals each. MANCHESTER CITY are in second place and two points behind Liverpool as they win 2-0 away to FULHAM. City are now on a total of 116 goals and they are still the only team with over 100 goals this season. Fulham picked up blank number fourteen. MANCHESTER UNITED are in fourth place after they won 2-1 at home to Watford. United are now on 70 goals. Arsenal are in fifth place with CHELSEA in sixth as they win 2-1 away to Cardiff after going a goal down. Chelsea are now on a total of 65 goals. WOLVES are in seventh place after they lost 2-0 away to Burnley and that is their tenth blank of the season. Next comes LEICESTER CITY in eighth place as they win 2-0 at home to BOURNEMOUTH. Leicester have now scored in all of their last seven games and they are now on 48 goals. Bournemouth picked up their twelfth blank score sheet. EVERTON moved in to ninth place after they beat WEST HAM 2-0 away. Everton are now on a total of 53 goals while West Ham picked up blank number thirteen.

CHAMPIONSHIP
LEEDS UNITED have moved up to second place behind Norwich as they win 3-2 at home to Millwall. Leeds are six points behind Norwich but they are now on a total of 69 goals. We have three teams in the Play-off Zone and they are West Brom in fourth place with ASTON VILLA in fifth place. They won 2-1 at home to BLACKBURN ROVERS. Villa are now on a total of 71 goals while Rovers picked up goal number 67. Derby are in sixth place.
Meanwhile, HULL won 2-0 away to bottom of the table IPSWICH and they are now on 58 goals while Ipswich picked up their seventeenth blank of the season.NOTTINGHAM FOREST are on 63 goals after they won 2-1 at home to SWANSEA who are now on 59 goals. STOKE drew 0-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday and that is their fifteenth blank score sheet and now four in a row. Stoke have scored just four goals in their last eleven games. BRENTFORD picked up their ninth blank and now three in a row after they drew 0-0 away to Wigan.

LEAGUE ONE
We are still doing well here with LUTON still on top after they won 2-1 away to BRISTOL ROVERS. Luton are now on a total of 81 goals while Rovers picked up goal number 46. In second place and still five points behind Luton is BARNSLEY. They drew 2-2 at home to COVENTRY and they are now on 76 goals to Coventry’s 47.
In the Play-off zone, in third place is still Portsmouth  with Sunderland still in fourth place as both teams had no game this week. CHARLTON remain in fifth place as they win 1-0 at home to Bradford to pick up gaol number 62.
Meanwhile ACCRINGTON STANLEY lost 1-0 at home against Fleetwood and that is their fifteenth blank of the season. PLYMOUTH drew 2-2 away to Blackpool and they are now on 56 goals. ROCHDALE are on 53 goals after they drew 1-1 away to Gillingham. WYCOMBE lost 2-1 away to Oxford Utd and they are now on 54 goals. SCUNTHORPE lost 2-1 at home to AFC Wimbledon and they are on 51 goals. SHREWSBURY are on 58 goals as they win 2-0 away to SOUTHEND who picked up blank number thirteen and now three in a row.

LEAGUE TWO
LINCOLN CITY are still on top after they drew 1-1 at home to Macclesfield. Lincoln are now on a total of 81 goals and they have extended their goal run to twenty-seven games. MK DONS are still in third place after they won 2-1 away to Forest Green. The Dons are now on a total of 70 and they have extended their goals run to twelve games.We have two teams in the Play-off zone this weekend and they are MANSFIELD in fourth place after they won 4-1 away to EXETER in seventh place. Mansfield are now on a total of 68 goals while Exeter are now on 55 goals.
Meanwhile SWINDON won 3-1 away to Bury and they are now on a total of 52 goals. OLDHAM won 2-0 at home to Grimsby and they are now on 63 goals. After a two game dry spell for goals, NOTTS COUNTY are now on 44 goals after they won 3-0 away to Stevenage.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Scottish Premiership, I think that we can safely say that CELTIC are Champions once again after they beat their rivals RANGERS 2-1 at home. Celtic are no won a total of 87 goals and thirteen points clear of Rangers in second place with 83 goals. HEARTS won 2-1 at home against ABERDEEN and they are now on 63 goals to Aberdeens 64. HAMILTON lost 5-0 away to Kilmarnock and that is their twentieth blank of the season.
In the Championship, ROSS COUNTY are top but they lost 1-0 away to ALLOA. As County picked up their seventh blank and now two in a row, Alloa are now on a total of 44 goals and they are two points adrift at the bottom of the table to Falkirk. FALKIRK after a goal run of twelve games, drew 0-0 away to Inverness CT to pick up their twelfth blank of the season.
In League One, RAITH ROVERS are still in second place after they won 2-1 away to East Fife. Rovers are now on 75 goals and a goal run of seven games. DUMBARTON lost 2-1 at home to bottom of the table STENHOUSEMUIR. As Dumbarton hit goal number 52 and with a goal run of nine games. Stenhousemuir after a two game dry spell, have taken their goals tally up to 41.
In League Two, PETERHEAD are still top after they won 2-1 at home to Cowdenbeath. Peterhead after a two game dry spell for goals are now on 60 goals this weekend.

Our Best teams this week are LINCOLN CITY after they have scored in all of their last twenty-seven League and Cup games out of forty-five played. They have a total of 81 goals which still gives them a average score of 1.8 goals per game.

Our worst team this week is HAMILTON as they have now picked up a total of twenty blank score sheets out of thirty-six League and Cup games played this season. They have now scored just three goals in their last six games.

Our biggest result in our 36th Season comes from MANCHESTER CITY as they win 9-0 at home against league one BURTON ALBION in the Carabao/League Cup semi-final first leg tie in Week Twenty-Four.

BOB SAWYER is in his second weekend at the number one spot which means this is his third weekend for this season. Bob picked up six goals at the weekend from Celtic, Luton and Manchester City with two goals each. Bob has moved up our Champions League to 30th place by beating our 1988/89 Champions Alec Short’s score of 280 goals  and Adam Porter’s score of 284 goals in the 2006/07 Season. Kellie has remained in second place after she picked up a total of seven goals for the week. Kellie is now just one goal behind Bob. Her teams are once again Celtic, Manchester City and West Brom.
At the other end at 133 we still have John Filtness at the bottom for a total of twenty-six consecutive weekends as he picks up a total of four goals for the week. He has now had twenty-nine weeks at the bottom but he is now fifteen goals adrift  this weekend. His teams are Birmingham, Hamilton and Liverpool. John has made progress in our Loser’s League by beating our lowest score in the 1993/94 Season of 154 goals from Richard Lloyd to move up 34th place in our Losers League.
