So the whistle has been blown for
the start of the second half of this our 32nd Season of Golden
Goals. But it has not been a very good start to this half as the
average score fell from five to just 2 goals each. Eighteen of us failed to
pick up any goals and this was due to eleven teams that had no game or it was
cancelled due to the bad weather and another ten teams that failed to score any
goals and some were our highest voted teams.
Our highest score this weekend came
from WATFORD
as they win 4-2 away to CARDIFF. Watford are now on a total of 45 goals while
Cardiff are on 37.
Although Watford have a total of
three votes this season, they are one of our original teams from the very first
season back in 1983/84. This is Watford's 19th season with Golden
Goals and they have done well over the seasons. Their highest score came in the second season when they
finished on a total of 102 goals. The three that have picked Watford as part of
their combination will be pleased that this will not be ending on their lowest
score as back in our 2006/07 Season they finished on just 41 goals. Last season
they finished on a total of 86 goals. They have now scored a total of 1,343
goals to date which gives them an average of 70 goals per season.
Top of the table CHELSEA could only draw against
Southampton away 1-1. That was Chelsea’s 48th goal of the season and
they have scored in all of their last seven games. MANCHESTER CITY are still second and three points behind Chelsea as
they drew 2-2 at home to Burnley. City are on 48 goals. MANCHESTER UNITED remained in third place as they drew 0-0 away to TOTTENHAM. That was United’s 4th
blank score sheet and Tottenham’s 5th. ARSENAL
are on 35 goals as they beat London Rivals 2-1 away to West Ham. on 28. QPR drew 0-0 at home to CRYSTAL PALACE to pick up their 8th
blank score sheet and palace their 7th. EVERTON are now on 29 goal after they lost 3-2 away to Newcastle.

they had no game over the weekend. ROTHERHAM

37 as they lose 3-1 at home to Birmingham. READING
won 2-1 at home to NORWICH to take
their goals tally to 34 while Norwich are on 47. WOLVES win again as they beat Brentford 2-1 at home. After picking
up their highest score for a very long time, Wolves are on 30 goals going into
