Last Friday Results of 2023

In the Championship leaders LEICESTER CITY won 2-0 away to Cardiff and are on a total of 55 goals and have now scored in all of their last 9 league/cup games. IPSWICH in second place drew 0-0 at home to QPR and picked up their 3rd blank of the season. SOUTHAMPTON are now in third place after they won 2-1 at home against PLYMOUTH. Southampton are on a total of 46 goals and have extended their goal run to 18 league/cup games. Plymouth are on 44 goals. BRISTOL CITY drew 0-0 away to Birmingham and that is their 9th blank of the season after a goal run of 6 games. SWANSEA drew 2-2 away to Coventry and are on a total of 39 goals. MIDDLESBROUGH won 2-1 away to Huddersfield and they are on a total of 51 goals. NORWICH lost 1-0 away to Millwall and that is their 4th blank score sheet and now two in a row. SHEFFIED WEDNESDAY won 1-0 away to Preston and that is goal number 20 for them. SUNDERLAND drew 1-1 away to Rotherham and they are on a total of 35 goals. STOKE drew 1-1 away to Watford and are on a total of 33 goals. LEEDS lost 2-0 away to West Brom and they have now had a total of six blank score sheets. 

In League One PETERBOROUGH are down to third place after they drew 2-2 at home to BARNSLEY. Borough are on a total of 59 goals and have now scored in all of their last 25 league/cup games. Barnsley are on 53 goals and have scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games. BRISTOL ROVERS are on a total of 43 goals after they won 2-1 at home against CHARLTON. Charlton are also on a total of 43 goals. It’s 40 goals for READING as they drew 2-2 away to Cheltenham. DERBY won 3-2 away to Oxford Utd and they are now on a total of 45 goals. It has not been a good week for BLACKPOOL as they pick up their 9th blank of the season and now two in a row after they lost 3-0 away to Port Vale. 

In League Two WREXHAM are down to third place after they lost 3-1 away to Walsall. Wrexham are on a total of 50 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games. AFC WIMBLEDON picked up another five goals in their 5-3 home win against Colchester. Wimbledon are now on a total of 53 goals. SUTTON UNITED lost 1-0 away to Gillingham and picked up their 8th blank of the season and now they have scored just one goal in their last 4 games. MK DONS won 2-0 at home to Crawley and are on a total of 41 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games. NOTTS COUNTY won 5-0 at home to Morecambe and have taken their goals tally to 58 goals. SALFORD CITY picked up their 8th blank of the season after they lost 3-0 at home to Grimsby.

West Ham Beat Arsenal

In the Premier League BRIGHTON won 4-2 at home against TOTTENHAM. Brighton have now taken their goals total to 38 while Tottenham are on 40 goals and have now scored in all of their 20 league/cup games keeping their 100% scoring record. Second place ARSENAL lost 2-0 at home to London rivals WEST HAM and picked up their 3rd blank of the season. West Ham are on a total of 38 goals.

City Move up to Fourth Place

In the Premier League MANCHESTER CITY move up to fourth place after they won 3-1 away to Everton and they have taken their goals tally to 43 goals. CHELSEA won 2-1 at home to London rivals CRYSTAL PALACE. Chelsea are on a total of 37 goals while Palace are on 23 goals. 

In the Scottish Premiership KILMARNOCK won 1-0 away to St Mirren and they are on a total of 32 goals. HIBERNIAN lost 1-0 at home to Hearts and that is their 6th blank of the season and now two in a row.

Boxing Day Results

We had a very good Boxing Day fixture with plenty of goals to help the players to reach 100 midweek goals and the cash. We had a total of 32 of our teams in action and here are their results. 

In the Premier League LIVERPOOL are top of the league after they won 2-0 away to Burnley and are on a total of 49 goals.  ASTON VILLA in second place lost 3-2 away to MANCHESTER UNITED after going two goals up. United are now on a total of 24 goals after they had failed ion their previous three games. Villa are on a total of 41 goals  and have now scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games. NEWCASTLE lost 3-1 at home to NOTTINGHAM FOREST and that is goal number 42 for them. Forest with their biggest result of the season are now on a total of 22 goals. AFC BOURNEMOUTH won 3-0 at home to FULHAM and have taken their goals total to 33 and have extended their goal run to 11 league/cup games. Fulham picked up their 8th blank of the season and now two in a row. 

In the Championship top of the table LEICESTER CITY drew 1-1 away to second place IPSWICH TOWN. City are on a total of 53 goals while Ipswich picked up goal number 56. LEEDS UNITED lost 2-1 away to Preston and they are on a total of 45 goals. STOKE won 3-1 away to Birmingham and they have taken their goals total to 32. PLYMOUTH drew 2-2 away to Cardiff and are on a total of 43 goals. After a goal run of 7 games, SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY picked up their 12th blank of the season after they lost 2-0 away to Coventry. SUNDERLAND won 1-0 away to Hull and are on a total of 34 goals. MIDDLESBROUGH lost 1-0 away to Rotherham and that is their 6th blank score sheet. SOUTHAMPTON picked up their biggest result of the season as they win 5-0 at home against SWANSEA. Southampton have taken their goals tally to 44 goals and have extended their goal run to 17 league/cup games. Swansea picked up their 4th blank of the season after a goal run of 8 games. BRISTOL CITY won 4-1 away to Watford and have taken their goals total to 35 and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games.  NORWICH picked up their 3rd blank score sheet after they lost 1-0 away to West Brom. 

In League One our best team is PETERBOROUGH in 2nd place. They drew 2-2 at home to READING and are on a total of 57 goals and have extended their goal run to 24 league/cup games. Reading are on a total of 38 goals and have now scored in all of their last 13 league/cup games. CHARLTON lost 1-0 away to Leyton Orient and picked up their 5th blank of the season. BRISTOL ROVERS won 2-1 at home to top of the table Portsmouth and are on a total of 41 goals and a goal run of 15 league/cup games. BLACKPOOL lost 1-0 away to Burton and that is their 8th blank of the season after a goal run of 7 league/cup games. BARNSLEY won 3-2 away to Port Vale and have taken their goals total up to 51 goals. They have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games. DERBY won 1-0 away to Wigan and that is goal number 42 for them. They have extended their goal run to 12 league/cup games. 

In League Two WREXHAM in 2nd place won 1-0 away to Swindon and they are on a total of 49 goals. They have now score in all of their last 6 league/cup games. AFC WIMBLEDON lost 1-0 at home to SUTTON UNITED. Wimbledon have now picked up a total of seven blank score sheets. Sutton after they had failed to score in their last two games, are now on a total of 36 goals. MK DONS won 1-0 at home to Colchester and they are on a total of 39 goals. NOTTS COUNTY won 3-0 at home against Doncaster and they have taken their goals tally to 53 and now have a goal run of 8 league/cup games. SALFORD CITY lost 5-1 at home to Tranmere and they are on a total of 41 goals. 

In the Scottish Premiership leaders CELTIC won 3-0 away to Dundee and are now on a total of 48 goals.

Week Twenty-One

In Week Twenty-One of the competition and we have started the second half of the season here at Golden Goals. We had just one winner again this weekend who picked up the Christmas Weekend Prize Money of £10. Our winner has become our 22nd winner of the season and they are DAVID BARRETT. David won on the winning score of 11 goals.

David started with Golden Goals in the 2017/18 Season on where he finished in the winning frame in 16th place with a total of 305 goals. David has failed  to finish in the winning frame in the past two seasons. Last season he finished in 61st place with a total of 256 goals. This season although we can see Dave in 12th place, he has been as high as 3rd place in Week’s One, Three and Four. This is his personal best weekend score with Wrexham being his best team to date. Just under half of us have picked up goals this week and the race for the cash has changed slightly again this week. The highest score that we had in midweek came from ZIGGY (John Wood) with 10 goals. His teams are Derby, Liverpool and Rangers. Ziggy now has a total of 39 midweek goals. Remaining in first place this week we still have MARK GREGORY leading the pack, now with a total of 49 goals. Mark has Barnsley, Celtic and Middlesbrough. Remaining in second place we still have TONY KING, PETER PORTER, JAMES SOMERVILLE and ANN WELLARD. All four are now on a total of 47 goals. In third place we still have our 2017/18 Champion CHRIS BOLBERY now with a total of 46 goals. In fourth place we have back in STUART KEMP (1) with a total of 45 goals. In fifth place we still have GEOFF CARTHY but joining him this week we have moving down from four ANDY EYLES and BAILEY MORAN. All are on a total of 44 goals. In sixth place we have MARTIN CORBETT and GRANT PHILLIPS now with a total of 43 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had 14 of our teams without a game over the weekend and we had another 7 of our teams that failed to score any goals. We had yet another disappointing weekend for goals, but the average score went up from three goals last weekend, to 4 goals this weekend. 

The highest score that we had came from the Scottish League One where COVE RANGERS with their biggest result of the season, won 7-2 at home to Edinburgh City and they have now taken their goals tally up to 43 goals and have now scored in all of their last 15 league/cup games. Rangers became our 37th voted Scottish team back in the 2019/20 Season on where they finished on their highest score of 82 goals. Last time out was in the following season of 2020/21 where they finished on a total of 38 goals. This is their third season with Golden Goals and they have netted a total of 163 goals to date. That gives them an average score of 54 goals per season. This season they once again have just one vote and they have picked up just 3 blank score sheets.

PREMIER LEAGUE

ARSENAL are still top after they drew 1-1 away to LIVERPOOL. Arsenal are on a total of 38 goals while Liverpool in second place and a point behind, are on a total of 47 goals. Aston Villa are in third place. WEST HAM won 2-0 at home against MANCHESTER UNITED. West Ham are on a total of 36 goals while United picked up their 8th blank score sheet of the season and now three games without a goal. FULHAM lost 2-0 at home to Burnley and that is their 7th blank of the season. NEWCASTLE lost 1-0 away to Luton and that is their 4th blank score sheet. NOTTINGHAM FOREST lost 3-2 at home to BOURNEMOUTH and they are on a total of 19 goals while Bournemouth are now on a total of 30 goals and a goal run of 10 league/cup games. TOTTENHAM won 2-1 at home to Everton and they are on a total of 38 goals and have extended their 100% goal run to 19 league/cup games. CHELSEA lost 2-1 away to Wolves and they are on a total of 35 goals.

SUTTON UNITED are still bottom of the league after they lost 2-0 at home to Mansfield Town and that is their 7th blank of the season and now two in a row.

SCOTTISH RESULTS

In the Premiership top of the table CELTIC won 2-0 at home to Livingston. Celtic are on a total of 45 goals. RANGERS are in second place and now two points behind the leaders with a game in hand, after they won 2-0 away to Motherwell. Rangers are now on a total of 47 goals and have now scored in all of their last 17 league/cup games. KILMARNOCK won 2-1 at home to St Johnston and they are on a total of 31 goals.

In League One FALKIRK are still top of the table after they won 3-0 away to Anna. Falkirk are now on a total of  goals. KELTY HEARTS drew 1-1 away to Hamilton and picked up goal number 37.

In League Two STENHOUSEMUIR are still top of the table after they won 2-0 at home to Elgin. Stenhousemuir are on a total of 34 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 games. CLYDE who are still bottom of the table drew 4-4 away to Dumbarton. With their biggest result of the season, Clyde are on a total of 26 goals.

Our Best performing team are still PETERBOROUGH after they have now scored in all of their 23 league/cup games. They have a total of 55 goals which gives them an average score of 1.9 goals per game.

Our worst performing team is STOKE CITY this week as they have picked up 12 blank score sheets out of their 26 league/cup games.

Our highest goal scoring team in our 41st Season are NEWCASTLE UNITED after they won 8-0 away to Sheffield United in Week Eight. BARNSLEY and BRISTOL ROVERS have both pick up our second highest score with 7 goals. Barnsley won 7-0 at home to Port Vale in the first league game of the season in Week One. Bristol Rovers won 7-2 at home to non-league Whitby Town in the first round of the FA CUP in Week Fourteen. 

JAMES SOMERVILLE becomes our 6th player to reach number one this season. James picked up a total of 10 goals from the week. James teams are Celtic, Leicester City and Peterborough. Scott Thomson (2) moves down to second place four goals behind James now. Scott picked up a total of 6 goals this weekend from his second selection of Celtic, Peterborough, Wrexham.

At the other end at 110 we still have CHARLIE FARLEY (John Wood) for his second weekend. John picked up just 4 goals from the weekend. John has Kilmarnock, Ross County and Stenhousemuir.

We had another slight change in our top ten going into Christmas.

Villa in Second Place

In the Premier League ASTON VILLA drew 1-1 at home against Sheffield United and have moved up to second place. Villa have a total of 39 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games. 

In the Championship BRISTOL CITY won 3-2 at home to Hull and have taken their goals total up to 31. SWANSEA CITY won 2-1 at home to Preston and they are on a total of 37 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games. 

In League Two SALFORD CITY lost 2-1 away to Colchester and scored goal number 40 after they had failed to score in their last two games. AFC WIMBLEDON won 2-1 away to Crawley and are on a total of 48 goals.  It’s 50 goals for NOTTS COUNTY after they lost 2-1 away to Stockport and they have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games. 

Scottish League Two EAST FIFE lost 3-0 at home against Bonnyrigg Rose and that is their 10th blank of the season.

In League One DERBY won 3-1 at home against Lincoln City and have taken their goals tally up to 41 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 11 league/cup games.

Liverpool's Big Cup Night

In the very last game of the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, LIVERPOOL are through to the semi-finals after they thrashed WEST HAM 5-1 at home. With their biggest result of the season, Liverpool are now on a total of 46 goals while West Ham hit goal number 34 

In the Scottish Premiership, RANGERS struggled to beat 10 men St Johnston after their 2-0 home win. Rangers managed to get the 3 points they needed to catch up with leaders Celtic. Rangers are on a total of 45 goals and have extended their goal run to 16 league/cup games. ABERDEEN won 2-1 at home to Livingston and are on a total of 24 goals.

FA CUP & League Cup Results

In the FA CUP second round BLACKPOOL are through after they won 3-0 at home to Forest Green Rovers. Blackpool are now on a total of 44 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games. 

In the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, FULHAM drew 1-1 away to Everton but then won 7-6 on penalties. Fulham are on a total of 33 goals. MIDDLESBROUGH won 3-0 away to Port Vale and have taken their goals tally to 48. CHELSEA drew 1-1 at home to NEWCASTLE and then won 4-2 on penalties. Chelsea are on a total of 34 goals while Newcastle picked up goal number 41.

In the Championship top of the table LEICESTER CITY are now 3 points clear of Ipswich Town in second place after they won 3-2 away to Birmingham City. Leicester are now on a total of 49 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games.

Week Twenty

 

In Week Twenty of the competition we are at half-time here at Golden Goals and the second half is just around the corner. We had just one winner again this weekend who picked up the full Weekend Prize Money of £5. Our winner has become our 21st winner of the season and they are our 2002/03 Champion MIKE PEPPERRELL. Mike won on the lowest winning score of the season with 8 goals.

Mike started with Golden Goals back in the 2000/01 Season where he finished in in 89th place with a total of 229 goals. Mike became Champion in the 2002/03 Season with a total of 338 goals and is currently in third place in our Champions League. Last season he finished in 62nd place with 256 goals. This season Mike has been as high as 36th place in Week Five and has picked up four blank weekend score sheets. Manchester City is his best team. His winning teams are

The highest score that we had came from the Championship where SOUTHAMPTON won 4-0 at home to Blackburn Rovers and they have now taken their goals tally up to 38 goals and have now scored in all of their last 15 league/cup games.

Southampton became our 32nd voted team in our second season of 1984/85. In their first season they finished with a total of 71 goals. We had to wait for the 2011/12 Season for them to finish with their highest score of 99 goals. The last time that we had Southampton was back in the 2016/17 Season where they finished with a total of 53 goals. This season they have a total of 6 votes and they have picked up just 2 blank score sheets. Over the years they have netted a total of 1032 goals which gives them an average score of 68 goals per season to date.

MK DONS won 2-0 at home to Forest Green and are on a total of 35 goals. SALFORD CITY drew 0-0 at home to  AFC WIMBLEDON and picked up their seventh blank and now two games in a row without a goal. Wimbledon picked up their sixth blank of the season. SUTTON UNITED lost 8-0 away to top of the table Stockport County and that is their sixth blank of the season after a goal run of 11 league/cup games. 

SCOTTISH RESULTS

In the Scottish League Cup Final RANGERS have won the cup against ABERDEEN with a very late goal in the 76th minute. Rangers are on a total of 43 goals and have extended their goal run to 15 league/cup games. Aberdeen picked up their ninth blank of the season. 

In the Premiership top of the table CELTIC have lost their second league game 2-0 at home to Hearts. Celtic have now picked up a total of four blank score sheet after a goal run of 7 league/cup games. Rangers are in second place and now have two games in hand of Celtic. KILMARNOCK drew 0-0 away to bottom of the table Livingston and that is their sixth blank of the season. HIBERNIAN lost 1-0 away to St Johnston and picked up their fifth blank of the season after a goal run of 6 league/cup games. ROSS COUNTY lost 1-0 at home to Dundee and that is now their ninth blank of the season and now two in a row. 

In League One FALKIRK are back at the top of the table after they won 3-1 away to second place Hamilton. Falkirk are now on a total of 47 goals. COVE RANGERS lost 2-1 at home to Alloa and are now on a total of 38 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 12 league/cup games. KELTY HEARTS lost 1-0 at home to Montrose and that is their fourth blank of the season. 

In League Two STENHOUSEMUIR are still top of the table after they won 2-1 at home to  EAST FIFE. Stenhousemuir are on a total of 32 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 games. Fife picked up goal number 25. CLYDE who are bottom of the table lost 2-1 away to Peterhead and are on a total of 22 goals.

Our highest goal scoring team in our 41st Season are NEWCASTLE UNITED after they won 8-0 away to Sheffield United in Week Eight. BARNSLEY and BRISTOL ROVERS have both pick up our second highest score with 7 goals. Barnsley won 7-0 at home to Port Vale in the first league game of the season in Week One. Bristol Rovers won 7-2 at home to non-league Whitby Town in the first round of the FA CUP in Week Fourteen. 

SCOTT THOMSON (2) celebrates his 4th weekend at number one. Scott picked up a total of just 3 goals this week from his second selection of Celtic, Peterborough, Wrexham. James Somerville remains in second place this week on goal difference with Scott, as he picked up a total of just 4 goals from the week. James teams are Celtic, Leicester City and Peterborough.

At the other end at 110 we now have CHARLIE FARLEY (John Wood) for his first weekend and become the 10th player to do so. John picked up just 2 goals from the weekend. John has Kilmarnock, Ross County and Stenhousemuir.

We did not have a great week for goals but with the busy Christmas period coming up we are all hoping for a festive treat.

Tottenham in Fifth Place

In the Premier League TOTTENHAM won 2-0 away to NOTTINHAM FOREST and are now on a total of 36 goals. Tottenham have now scored in all of their 18 league/cup games played this season. Forest picked up their seventh blank of the season and now just one goal in their last four games.

Two Horse Race in Championship?

In the Championship, LEICESTER CITY keep their top of the table status as they win 3-2 at home to Millwall. Leicester have taken their goals tally to 46 goals. SOUTHAMPTON drew 1-1 away to Coventry and picked up goal number 34 and they have now scored in all of their last 14 league/cup games. It’s 40 goals for NORWICH as they win 3-1 at home to SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY who are on a total of 16 goals. MIDDLESBROUGH lost 2-1 at home to Hull and are on a total of 43 goals. PLYMOUTH drew 0-0 away to QPR and that is their sixth blank of the season and now two games without a goal.

Rovers Win FA CUP Replay

In the FA CUP second round replays, we had just one of our teams in action and they where BRISTOL ROVERS. They are through to the next round after they won 4-2 away to Crewe. Rovers have taken their goals tally to 36 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 12 league/cup games. 

In the Championship BRISTOL CITY 2-1 away to Blackburn Rovers and that is goal number 27. STOKE CITY drew 1-1 at home to SWANSEA CITY and they are on a total of 28 goals while Swansea are on 34 and they have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games. IPSWICH won 2-1 away to Watford and are on a total of 53 goals. SUNDERLAND won 1-0 at home to LEEDS UTD and are on a total of 33 goals while Leeds picked up their fifth blank of the season after a goal run of 7 league/cup games. 

In League One READING drew 1-1 at home to Oxford Utd and hey are on a total of 34 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games.

Week Nineteen

In Week Nineteen of the competition we had just one winner to pick up the full prize money of £5, as it was once again won on a score of 10 goals. Our winner has become our 20th winner of the season and they are GUY DOWSETT (1). 

Guy started with Golden Goals back in the 2000/01 Season and finished in 56th place with a total of 272 goals. Guy has for a while now had two combinations in each season. Last season he finished in the winning frame in 24th place with his second combo with a total of 288 goals. His first ended in 94th place with 222 goals. He also picked up one shared weekend win. This season’s first combo has been as high as 38th place in Week One. This is his personal best weekend score and he has picked up just two blank score sheets to date. 100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

All but 13 of us have picked up goals this week and the race for the cash has changed once again this week. The highest amount of goals went to MANDY WRIGHT with a total of 11 goals. They came from Bournemouth, Celtic and AFC Wimbledon.

In first place this week we now have MARK GREGORY leading the pack with a total of 45 goals. Mark has Barnsley, Celtic and Middlesbrough. In second place we have last weeks leaders TONY KING and ANN WELLARD both with a total of 44 goals. In third place is our 2017/18 Champion CHRIS BOLBERY moving down from one still with a total of 42 goals. In fourth place we still have PETER PORTER and JAMES SOMERVILLE. Both are on a total of 41 goals. In fifth place both down from  three we have ANDY EYLES and BAILEY MORAN both are still with a total of 38 goals. In sixth place we have GEOFF CARTHY back in with 37 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had 4 of our teams without a game over the weekend due to the bad weather once again. Out of the ones that did play 9 failed to score any goals. We had a disappointing weekend for goals as the average score went down from seven goals last weekend to just 4 goals this weekend. The highest score that we had came from Premier League where FULHAM won 5-0 at home to WEST HAM. Fulham have taken their goals tally up to 32 goals this week. West Ham picked up their second blank of the season after a goal run of 6 games.

Fulham became our third most voted team in our first season of 1983. In that season they finished on a total of 68 goals. Their highest end of season score came in the 2021/22 Season with 110 goals. It was their second season netting over 100 goals. Last season they finished with just 64 goals. This is their 19th Season with Golden Goals and over the years they have netted a total of 1269 goals, which gives them an average score of 66 goals per season to date. This season they have just one vote and have picked up a total of 5 blank score sheets.

PREMIER LEAGUE

LIVERPOOL have moved up to the top after they won 2-1 away to CRYSTAL PALACE. Liverpool have kept their 100% scoring record after a total of 18 league/cup games. They now have a total of 41 goals. Palace picked up goal number 19. ARSENAL are down to second place after they lost 1-0 away to ASTON VILLA and picked up their second blank of the season. Villa are on a total of 36 goals. BRIGHTON drew 1-1 at home to Burnley and are on a total of 33 goals. MANCHESTER UNITED lost 3-0 at home to BOURNEMOUTH and that is their sixth blank of the season while Bournemouth take their goals total to 27 goals and have scored in all of their last 9 league/cup games. After they had failed to score in their last two games, NOTTINGHAM FOREST drew 1-1 away to Wolves and are on a total of 17 goals. CHELSEA lost 2-0 away to Everton and picked up their fifth blank score sheet after a goal run of 6 games. MANCHESTER CITY won 2-1 away to Luton and they are on a total of 38 goals. TOTTENHAM won 4-1 at home against NEWCASTLE and have taken their goals total to 34 goals and have extended their 100% scoring run to 17 league/cup games. Newcastle are on a total of 37 goals.

CHAMPIONSHIP

LEICESTER CITY are still top here after they won 4-0 at home to PLYMOUTH. Leicester are now on a total of 43 goals. Plymouth picked up their fifth blank of the season. IPSWICH TOWN are in second place after they won 2-0 away to MIDDLESBROUGH. Ipswich are on a total of 51 goals while Brough after a goal run of 6 games, picked up their fifth blank of the season. LEEDS UNITED won 2-0 away to Blackburn and are on a total of 39 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games. SUNDERLAND won 2-1 at home to West Brom and are on a total of 32 goals. BRISTOL CITY drew 1-1 away to Huddersfield and are on a total of 26 goals. After a goal run of 13 league/cup games, NORWICH drew 0-0 at home to Preston and picked up their second blank of the season. SWANSEA won 2-1 away to Rotherham and are on a total of 33 goals. STOKE lost 1-0 at home to SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY and picked up their eleventh blank of the season while Wednesday picked up their 15th goal of the season. LEAGUE TWO

Due to the bad weather we had a few games that were cancelled due to waterlogged pitches. This meant that we had just two of our teams in action. They were AFC WIMBLEDON who won 4-0 at home to Swindon and what a week they have had. Wimbledon have taken their goals tally to 46 goals. NOTTS COUNTY lost 2-1 at home to Walsall and are on a total of 48 goals.

They are now 5 points behind Celtic. ABERDEEN won 2-1 at home to Hearts and after they had failed to score in their previous two games, are now on a total of 22 goals. It’s 30 goals for HIBERNIAN after they won 1-0 away to Livingston. ROSS COUNTY lost 2-0 away to St Mirren and that is their eighth blank of the season.

CLYDE who are bottom of the table drew 2-2 at home to Stranraer and are on a total of 21 goals. EAST FIFE picked up another four goals in their 4-0 home win against Elgin City. Fife have taken their goals tally to 24 goals.
