Beat The Score

 

Beat the Score is just one way you can win some prize money here at Golden Goals and this is awarded to the first person who’s combination of teams score more goals than the current record of 23 goals from the weekend games only.  

Beat the Score was added to the competition way back in our 1989/90 Season. The score to beat then was a total of 15 weekend goals. This was first held by Phil Mockler back from our 1985/86 Season before the prize money was set up.

Beat the score prize money this season will go to the person who can beat our current record holder SIMON DICKINSON score of 23 goals in our 2022/23 Season.  Simon picked up the goals in Week Five of that season with goals from CELTICL 9, LIVERPOOL 9 and SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY 5. Simon won a total of £65. The prize money has now restarted at £5 but we hope to add to this each season coming. Good luck to you all!

Week Thirty-Nine

In Week Thirty-Nine of the competition we had our very last Weekend Prize Money of £5 and it was shared by two players on a total of 11 goals. One of our players picked up their second win of the season and the other winner became our 35^th winner of the season. The prize money went to PETER WELLARD and our 2021/22 Champion JULIA WOOD.

Peter last won some cash in Week Eight where he shared the cash. Since then he has picked up another 3 weekend blank score sheets giving him 4 over the season. Twelfth place is still his highest position in Week Twelve.

Julia has become our 35^th winner in our 41^st Season of Golden Goals. Julia started with us back in the 2016/17 Season on where she finished in 43^rd place with a total of 303 goals. Julia has only missed one season with us but she became became our 39^th Champion in the 2021/22 Season. She won on a total of 335 goals which leaves Julia currently in fifth place in our Champions League. Julia has been as high as 15^th place in Week Fourteen. She has picked up five blank weekend score sheets. Here are our winners winning combinations.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

Most of us have managed to pick up a goal or two this week as the race for the record is coming to the end. We now have a total of 19 players that have now reached 100 or more goals and we hope there might be a couple more next week. The record to beat is 136 midweek goals and the record holder is Daryl Nicholls from the 2016/17 Season.

Leading the race for the record this week we  have MARK JOHNSTON now on a total of 121 goals. In second place we have BAILEY MORAN with a total of 119 goals. In third place we now have TONY KING still with a total of 117 goals. In fourth place we have ANDY EYLES with a total of 114 goals. In fifth place with 112 goals, we have GEOFF CARTHY, JAMES SOMERVILLE and ANN WELLARD. 

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had all but 2 of our teams in action again over the weekend and out of the ones that played, 13 of them failed to score any goals. We have 8 of our teams that have now finished their season. Not a bad weekend as we had our very last full league fixture of the season. The average score for the weekend remained the same as last week of  just 5 goals. The highest score that we had was 5 goals, and they came from two of our teams. They are NEWCASTLE and AFC WIMBLEDON. 

PREMIER LEAGUE

ARSENAL are at the top this weekend after they won 3-2 away to TOTTENHAM and are now on a total of 87 goals. Tottenham are on 69 goals. MANCHESTER CITY are in second place after they won 2-0 away to NOTTINGHAM FOREST. City are on a total of 97 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games. Forest have picked up their 13^th blank of the season and now 2 games in a row. LIVERPOOL are now down to third place after they drew 2-2 away to WEST HAM. Liverpool are on a total of 102 goals. West Ham are on 62 goals. ASTON VILLA in fourth place drew 2-2 at home against CHELSEA. Villa are on 76 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 league games. Chelsea after they had failed to score in their last 2 games, are on a total of 89 goals. MANCHESTER UNITED drew 1-1 at home to Burnley and are on 69 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games. FULHAM drew 1-1 at home to CYRSTAL PALACE and are on a total of 61 goals. Place are on 49 goals. NEWCASTLE won 5-1 at home to Sheffield United and have taken their goals tally up to 85. AFC BOURNEMOUTH won 3-0 at home against BRIGHTON and are now on a total of 66 goals and have now scored in all of their last 10 league games. Brighton picked up their 11^th blank of the season and now 2 games in a row. Brighton have scored just 1 goal in their last 5 games.  

CHAMPIONSHIP

Top of the table Leicester City are promoted while Leeds United are back in second place. Both teams had no game over the weekend. 

In the Play-offs we have three of the four teams. In third place we now have IPSWICH who drew 3-3 away to Hull and are now on a total of 100 goals and they now become our fifth team to do so this season. SOUTHAMPTON are still in fourth place after they lost 1-0 at home against STOKE. Southampton have now had a total of 6 blank score sheets and now 2 games in a row without a goal. Stoke picked up goal number 55. NORWICH are now in fifth place after they drew 2-2 at home against SWANSEA. Norwich are on a total of 88 goals and have now scored in all of their last 17 league/cup games. Swansea are on a total of 66 goals.

Meanwhile MIDDLESBROUGH won 4-1 away to Cardiff and have taken their goals total to 84 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 games. BRISTOL CITY won 2-0 at home against bottom of the table Rotherham. City are on a total of 61 goals. PLYMOUTH picked up their 14^th black score sheet and now 2 games in a row without a goal. SUNDERLAND lost 1-0 away to Watford and picked up their 18^th blank score sheet and now 2 in a row. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY won 3-0 at home against West Brom and are now on a total of 50 goals. 

LEAGUE ONE

DERBY have been promoted after they won 2-0 at home to Carlisle. Derby finished in second place with a total of 81 goals.

In the Play-offs we still have two teams with PETERBOROUGH finished in fourth place after they drew 3-3 at home to Bolton. Peterborough are on a total of 101 goals and become our fourth team to hit 100 goals this season. BARNSLEY finished in sixth place after they drew 1-1 at home to Northampton. Barnsley are on a total of 90 goals.

Meanwhile  CHARLTON lost their last game 1-0 away to Wycombe and picked up their 11^th blank of the season. They end their season with a total of 72 goals. READING won their last league game 3-2 at home to BLACKPOOL. Reading end the season with a total of 77 goals and have scored in all of their last 20 league/cup games. Blackpool end their season with a total of 76 goals. BRISTOL ROVERS lost their last game 2-0 away to Wigan and that is their 14^th blank of the season and finish with a total of 65 goals. 

LEAGUE TWO

WREXHAM finished in second  place and are promoted. They won 2-1 at home against Stockport and have taken their goal tally to 93.

In the Play-offs we have just one team and they are MK DONS, who are still in fourth place after they drew 4-4 at home to SUTTON UNITED. The Dons have taken their goals total to 85 while Sutton finished with a total of 69 goals and they had now scored in all of their last 8 league games, but they are relegated to the National League.

Meanwhile AFC WIMBELDON won their last game 5-1 at home to Walsall and finished with a total of 78 goals. NOTTS COUNTY lost their last game 1-0 to bottom of the table Forest Green. After they had scored in all of their last 10 league games, County picked up their 8^th blank of the season. SALFORD CITY drew their last game 2-2 at home to Morecambe and are on a total of 75 goals. 

SCOTTISH RESULTS

In the Premiership Champions CELTIC won 2-1 away to Dundee and are on a total of 96 goals. Celtic have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games. Second place RANGERS won 2-1 away to St Mirren and are on a total of 94 goals. HIBERNIAN won 3-1 away to St Johnston and are now on a total of 57 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league games. ABERDEEN won 1-0 at home against Motherwell and are on a total of 51 goals. After a goal run of 18 league games, KILMARNOCK drew 0-0 at home to Hearts and picked up their 7^th blank of the season. ROSS COUNTY lost 2-0 away to Livingston and picked up their 18^th blank of the season. 

In League One Champions FALKIRK top of the table drew 3-3 away to Anna and are now on a total of 106 goals and have now scored in all of their last 22 league/cup games. KELTY HEARTS lost 2-0 at home to Montrose and picked up their 12^th blank of the season after a goal run of 6 league games. COVE RANGERS lost 2-0 away to Queen of the South. Rangers picked up their 9^th blank score sheet after a goal run of 7 league games. 

In League Two STENHOUSEMUIR are still top of the table after they drew again their eighth consecutive league game 1-1 at home to Bonnyrigg Rose. Stenhousemuir are on a total of 53 goals CLYDE won 1-0 at home against EAST FIFE and are on a total of 52 goals. East Fife picked up their 15^th blank of the season.

Our Best performing team are now FALKIRK after they have now scored in all of their last 22 league/cup games. They have a total of 106 goals which gives them an average score of 2.5 goals per game. 

Our worst performing team is SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY this week as they have picked up 19 blank score sheets out of their 49 league/cup games. 

Our highest goal scoring teams in our 41^st Season are NEWCASTLE UNITED after they won 8-0 away to Sheffield United in Week Eight. BARNSLEY, BRISTOL ROVERS, COVE RANGERS, CELTIC and FALKIRK have all pick up our second highest score with 7 goals each. Barnsley won 7-0 at home to Port Vale in the first league game of the season in Week One. Bristol Rovers won 7-2 at home to non-league Whitby Town in the first round of the FA CUP in Week Fourteen. Cove Rangers won 7-2 at home to Edinburgh City in the league in Week Twenty-One. Celtic won 7-1 at home to Dundee in the league in Week Thirty-One. FALKIRK won 7-1 away to Montrose in the league in Week Thirty-Five.

JOHN FILTNESS is at the top again this weekend as he picks up a total of 13 goals from the week. John has now been at the top for a total of  12 weeks throughout the season. His teams are Leicester City, Liverpool and Manchester City. John has now beaten five passed Champions and is now in 30^th place in our “Champions League”. Bailey Moran has moved up to second place this weekend. Bailey picked up a total of 14 goals from the week with his teams of  Leicester City, Manchester City and Peterborough. He is just 3 goals behind John now.

At the other end at 110 we still have CHARLIE FARLEY (John Wood) for his 20^th consecutive weekend. John picked up a single goal this weekend. John has Kilmarnock, Ross County and Stenhousemuir. John has remained in 33^rd place in our “Losers League” this week again. 

There was a slight change in the top ten this weekend as the season starts to wind down.

Leeds Feeling the Pressure

In the Championship LEEDS UNITED played their second game of the week. After their win against Middlesbrough earlier on in the week, They then lost 4-0 away to QPR. Leeds maybe on a total of 92 goals but they have now had a total of nine blank score sheets.

City Close Gap on Arsenal

In the Premier League MANCHESTER CITY have move above Liverpool to second place after they won 4-0 away to BRIGHTON. City are now on a total of 95 goals while Brighton picked up their 10^th blank of the season.

Liverpool's Title Hopes Fade

In the Premier League LIVERPOOLS chance for the title have now been lost after they lost 2-0 away to Everton. That is now Liverpool's 3^rd blank of the season. MANCHESTER UNITED won 4-2 at home to bottom of the league Sheffield United. United have taken their goals tally up to 68 and have now extended their goals run to 20 league/cup games. BOURNEMOUTH won 1-0 away to Wolves and picked up goal number 63 and have now scored in all of their last 8 games. CRYSTAL PALACE won 2-0 at home against NEWCASTLE and are on a total of 48 goals while Newcastle, picked up their 6^th blank of the season.

Arsenal Thump Chelsea to go Top

In the Premier League ARSENAL won 5-0 at home to London rivals CHELSEA and go back to the top of the league. Arsenal have taken their goals tally to 84 while Chelsea picked up their 10^th blank of the season and now 2 games in a row without a goal. 

In the Championship LEICESTER CITY won 5-0 at home against SOUTHAMPTON. City have now become our third team to hit 100 goals this season. Southampton picked up their 5^th blank of the season. 

In League One PETERBOROUGH currently in the play-offs, lost 2-0 away to Cheltenham and picked up their 6^th blank score sheet of the season. 

Championship Race Back On

In the Championship It’s 80 goals for MIDDLESBROUGH after they lost 4-3 at home to LEEDS UNITED. Middlesbrough have now scored in all of their last 6 league games. After they had failed to score in their last 2 games, Leeds have taken their goals tally up to 92 and have moved up to second place.

Golden Goals Highest Goals Scored

 

CELTIC holds the record for the highest number of goals scored at the end of a season with 143 goals set in the 2022/23 Season.  

In that season they had played a total of 47 league and cup games which gave them an average score of 3 goals per game. Their highest score came in Week Five when they beat Dundee Utd 9-0 away in a league game. Also in that season they picked up just two blank score sheets. They had a total of 25 votes.

Celtic started in our very first season of 1983/84 where they finished on a score of 116 goals. They were our 2^nd voted Scottish team. They have scored 100 or more goals in 21 of their 40 seasons played. Over the seasons they netted a total of 3951 goals which gives them an average score of 98 goals per season.

 

Week Thirty-Eight

In Week Thirty-Eight of the competition we had our  7^th Rollover of the season worth £10 and that was won on a score of 10 goals. The prize money went to our 34^th winner of the season, ANNE HAMMOND.

Anne is in her very first season with Golden Goals and this is her personal best score of the season. Anne as been as high as 61^st place in Week Thirty. She as picked up a total of 6 blank weekend score sheets. Anne’s best team is Liverpool. Here ate her winning combination.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had all but 9 of our teams in action again over the weekend and the ones that did play, 5 of them failed to score any goals. What a crazy weekend we had again with our teams and that is once again reflected in the table this week. The average score for the weekend remained the same as  last week of  just 5 goals.

The highest score that we had was 5 goals, and they came from two of our teams. They are CRYSTAL PALACE and MK DONS.

FA CUP Semi-Finals 

In this round we had three of the four teams. MANCHESTER CITY won 1-0 against CHELSEA and are on a total of 91 goals. Chelsea after a goal run of 8 league/cup games, pick up their 9^th blank of the season. MANCHESTER UNITED drew 3-3 against Coventry City after full time and that score remained after extra time. United who were 3-0 up with 20 minutes to go, then won 4-2 on penalties. United are now on a total of 64 goals and have now scored in all of their last 19 league/cup games. It’s the old firm final between City and United on 25 May. 

PREMIER LEAGUE

ARSENAL are at the top this weekend after they won 2-0 away to Wolves and are on a total of 79 goals. LIVERPOOL are now in second place after they won 3-1 away to FULHAM and are now on a total of 102 goals which makes them our second team to reach 100 goals this season. Fulham picked up goal number 60 Manchester City are in third place. ASTON VILLA in fourth place, won 3-1 at home against AFC BOURNEMOUTH and they are now on a total of 74 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league games. Bournemouth are on a total of 62 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 league games. CRYSTAL PALACE picked up their biggest result of the season as they beat London rivals WEST HAM 5-2 at home. Palace are now on a total of 46 goals. West Ham are on a total of 60 goals. NOTTINGHAM FOREST lost 2-0 away to Everton and picked up their 12^th blank of the season. 

CHAMPIONSHIP

LEICESTER CITY are back on top after they won 2-1 at home to West Brom. City after they had failed to score in their last 2 games, are now on a total of 95. Ipswich are back down to second place as they had no game this weekend. 

In the Play-offs we have three of the four teams. In third place we still have Leeds United who had no game this weekend.

SOUTHAMPTON are still in fourth place after they lost 2-1 away to Cardiff. Southampton are now on a total of 94 goals. NORWICH are still in sixth place after they drew 1-1 at home against BRISTOL CITY. Norwich are on a total of 86 goals and have now scored in all of their last 16 league/cup games. Bristol City are on 59 goals.

Meanwhile SWANSEA picked up their biggest result of the season after they won 4-0 away to Huddersfield. Swansea have taken their goals tally to 64. STOKE won 3-0 at home to PLYMOUTH and are now on a total of 54 goals while Plymouth, picked up their 13^th blank of the season. SUNDERLAND picked up their 17^th blank of the season after they lost 1-0 at home to Millwall. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY won 3-1 away to Blackburn Rovers and are now on a total of 47 goals. 

LEAGUE ONE

DERBY are still our highest team here in second place after they won 1-0 away to Cambridge Utd. Derby are on a total of 79 goals.

In the Play-offs we still have two teams with PETERBOROUGH still in fourth place after they won 2-0 away to BRISTOL ROVERS. Peterborough are on a total of 98 goals while Rovers picked up their 13^th blank of the season. BARNSLEY are in fifth place after they lost 3-2 away to BLACKPOOL. Barnsley are on a total of 89 goals while Blackpool are now on a total of 74 goals.

Meanwhile  CHARLTON drew 1-1 at home to Shrewsbury and are on a total of 72 goals. READING lost 3-2 away to Burton and are on a total of 74 goals and have now scored in all of their last 19 league/cup games. 

LEAGUE TWO

WREXHAM are down to third place after they won 3-0 away to Crewe and have taken their goal tally to 91.

In the Play-offs we now have one team and they are MK DONS, who are still in fourth place after they won 5-3 away to Harrogate. The Dons have taken their goals total to 81.  

Meanwhile SALFORD CITY won 1-0 away to Newport and are on a total of 73 goals. NOTTS COUNTY won 1-0 at home against Colchester and are on a total of 94 goals and have now scored in all of their last 10 league games. SUTTON UNITED drew 2-2 at home to Crawley and are on a total of 65 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 7 league games. AFC WIMBELDON lost 3-2 away to Tranmere and are on a total of 73 goals. 

SCOTTISH RESULTS

In the SCOTTISH CUP Semi-Finals we had three of the four teams. CELTIC drew 3-3 against ABERDEEN after extra time and then went on to win 6-5 on penalties. Celtic are now on a total of 94 goals and have scored in all of their last 6 league/cup games. Aberdeen, after they had failed to score in their last 2 league games, are now on a total of 50 goals. RANGERS won 2-0 against Hearts and are on a total of 92 goals. The final between Celtic and Rangers is to be played on 25 May.

In League One Champions FALKIRK top of the table drew 2-2 at home to KELTY HEARTS. Falkirk are on a total of 103 goals and have now scored in all of their last 21 league/cup games. Kelty are on a total of 60 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league games. It’s 70 goals for COVE RANGERS after they lost 3-2 at home against Alloa and they have now scored in all of their last 7 league games.

In League Two STENHOUSEMUIR top of the table,  drew their seventh consecutive league game 2-2 away to bottom of the table CLYDE. Stenhousemuir are on a total of 52 goals while Clyde are on a total of 60 goals. EAST FIFE lost 2-1 away to Forfar and are on a total of 48 goals.

FA Cup News

FA Cup replays will be scrapped from the first round onwards in the coming2024/25 competition, which might effect our teams end of season totals for our 42^nd Season.

All rounds of the FA Cup will also be played on weekends, including the fifth round which has been played in midweek for the past five seasons. The changes come as part of a new six-year agreement between the Football Association (FA) and the Premier League.

The good news is that the Premier League has also removed its mid-season break from the calendar.

Play-offs for Southampton Improve

In the Championship SOUTHAMPTON won 3-0 at home against Preston and are now on a total of 93 goals. 

In League One BRISTOL ROVERS won 1-0 at home to Cambridge Utd and are on a total of 65 goals. PETERBOROUGH won 4-1 at home to Fleetwood and have taken their goals tally to 96 goals. BARNSLEY lost 3-2 away to Portsmouth and are on a total of 87 goals. 

In League Two NOTTS COUNTY lost 5-2 at home to Stockport and are on a total of 93 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 9 league games. 

Another Six for Chelsea

In the Premier League CHELSEA won 6-0 at home against Everton and have taken their goals tally up to 87 goals. They have extended their goal run to 8 league games.

Week Thirty-Seven

In Week Thirty-Seven of the competition we had a total of five players that picked up a total of 11 goals each. So under our competition rules, we can only have four winners. That now means that we will have our  7^th Rollover of the season worth £10 next weekend. The players that missed out this week are STEVE AYRES, DAVID BARRETT, MICHAEL FISHER, TONY GUY (2) and CHRIS NUNN.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

Most of us have managed to pick up a goal or two this week and although the race for the cash is over, there is a record to beat still. We now have a total of 12 players that have now reached 100 or more goals and there will be a couple more in the coming week. The record to beat is 136 midweek goals and the record holder is Daryl Nicholls from the 2016/17 Season. Leading the race for the record this week we have TONY KING now with a total of 107 goals. In second place we have MARK JOHNSTON and BAILEY MORAN with a total of 106 goals. Next we have ANN WELLARD with a total of 104 goals. Following Ann we have ANDY EYLES and JAMES SOMERVILLE both with a total of 103 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had all but 3 of our teams in action again over the weekend and the ones that did play, 8 of them failed to score any goals. What a crazy weekend we had with our teams and that is reflected in the table this week. The average score for the weekend fell from seven goals last week to just 5 goals this weekend. The highest score that we had was 6 goals, and they came from League Two where WREXHAM won 6-0 at home against bottom of the table Forest Green Rovers. Wrexham have taken their goals total to 88.

PREMIER LEAGUE

MANCHESTER CITY are at the top this weekend after they won 5-1 at home against Luton. City have had some good results over the last couple of weeks as they take their goals tally to 90. ARSENAL move down to second place after they lost 2-0 at home to ASTON VILLA. As Arsenal pick up their 6^th blank of the season, Villa are on a total of 71 goals and have moved up to fourth place. LIVERPOOL are down to third place after they lost 1-0 at home against CRYSTAL PALACE. Liverpool who had a goal run of 22 games, have now picked up their 2^nd blank of the season. Palace are on 41 goals. TOTTENHAM now in fifth place lost 4-0 away to NEWCASTLE. As Tottenham picked up their 3^rd blank of the season, Newcastle have taken their goals tally to 80. After they had failed to score in their last two games, BRIGHTON drew 1-1 away to Burnley and are on a total of 61 goals.NOTTINGHAM FOREST drew 2-2 at home against Wolves and are on a total of 48 goals. AFC BOURNEMOUTH drew 2-2 at home against MANCHESTER UNITED. Bournemouth are on a total of 61 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 games. United are also on a total of 61 goals and have now scored in all of their last 18 league/cup games. WEST HAM lost 2-0 at home to FULHAM and picked up their 8^th blank of the season after a goal run of 7 games. Fulham are on 59 goals.

CHAMPIONSHIP

IPSWICH are back on top after they drew 1-1 at home against MIDDLESBROUGH. After they had failed to score in their last two games, Ipswich are on a total of 97 goals. Middlesbrough are on a total of 77 goals. Leicester City are back in second place.

In the Play-offs we have three of the four teams. In third place we still have LEEDS UNITED who lost 1-0 at home  to Blackburn Rovers. Leeds picked up their 8^th blank of the season and now two in a row. SOUTHAMPTON are still in fourth place after they won 3-2 at home to Watford. Southampton are now on a total of 90 goals. NORWICH are still in sixth place after they won 1-0 away to Preston. Norwich are on a total of 85 goals and have now scored in all of their last 15 league/cup games.

Meanwhile BRISTOL CITY drew 1-1 at home against Huddersfield and are on a total of 58 goals. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY drew 1-1 at home to STOKE and are on a total of 44 goals while Stoke are on 51 goals. After they had failed to score in their previous two games, SWANSEA are on a total of 60 goals after they won 1-0 at home to Rotherham. SUNDERLAND had failed to score in their last two league games, won 1-0 away to West Brom and are on a total of 53 goals. 

LEAGUE ONE

DERBY are still our highest team here in second place after they won 3-0 at home to Leyton Orient. Derby have taken their goals total to 78.

In the Play-offs we have two teams with PETERBOROUGH still in fourth place after they lost 5-0 away to Oxford Utd. That is their 5^th blank of the season. BARNSLEY are in fifth place after they drew 2-2 at home to READING. Barnsley are on a total of 85 goals while Reading 72 goals and have now scored in all of their last 18 league/cup games.

Meanwhile  CHARLTON drew 1-1 away to Cambridge Utd and are on a total of 71 goals. BLACKPOOL won 1-0 away to Carlisle and are on a total of 71 goals. After they had failed to score in their last 7 league games, BRISTOL ROVERS won 3-1 away to Cheltenham.  Rovers are now on a total of 64 goals.

LEAGUE TWO

Wrexham are still in second place after their big win.

In the Play-offs we now have one team and they are MK DONS, who are down to fourth place after they lost 4-1 at home to Mansfield. The Dons are on a total of 76 goals.

Meanwhile SUTTON UNITED drew 2-2 away to Harrogate and are on a total of 63 goals. SALFORD CITY lost 2-1 at home against Bradford and are on a total of 72 goals. AFC WIMBELDON lost 3-2 away to Swindon and are on a total of 71 goals. NOTTS COUNTY won 3-1 away to Walsall and are now on a total of 91 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 league games.

SCOTTISH RESULTS

In the Premiership CELTIC are still top this weekend after they won 3-0 at home to St Mirren. Celtic have taken their goals total to 91. RANGERS remain in second place with that game in hand, but have they made Celtic the Champions? After they lost 3-2 away to ROSS COUNTY. Rangers are on a total of 90 goals and have now scored in all of their last 34 league/cup games. County are now on a total of 50 goals. ABERDEEN drew 0-0 at home to Dundee and that is their 16^th blank of the season and now two games in a row. HIBERNIAN drew 1-1 away to Motherwell and are on a total of 54 goals. KILMARNOCK won 2-0 away to St Johnstone and are on a total of 59 goals and have now scored in all of their last 18 league/cup games.

In League One Champions FALKIRK are still top of the table after win 2-0 away to Hamilton. We congratulate Falkirk on being our first team to reach 100 goals. They are now on a total of 101 goals and have now scored in all of their last 20 league/cup games. COVE RANGERS lost 3-2 away to Annan and are on a total of 68 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 6 league games. KELTY HEARTS won 1-0 at home against Stirling and are on a total of 58 goals.

In League Two STENHOUSEMUIR are still top of the table after they drew their sixth consecutive league game 1-1 at home to Elgin City. Stenhousemuir after they had failed to score in their last three games, are on a total of 50 goals. EAST FIFE lost 4-1 at home to Bonnyrigg Rose and are on a total of 47 goals. CLYDE who are back at the bottom of the league, after they lost 1-0 away to Dumbarton. That is Clyde's 12^th blank of the season.

Our worst performing team is SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY this week as they have picked up 19 blank score sheets out of their 47 league/cup games.

Our highest goal scoring teams in our 41^st Season are NEWCASTLE UNITED after they won 8-0 away to Sheffield United in Week Eight. BARNSLEY, BRISTOL ROVERS, COVE RANGERS, CELTIC and FALKIRK have all pick up our second highest score with 7 goals each. Barnsley won 7-0 at home to Port Vale in the first league game of the season in Week One. Bristol Rovers won 7-2 at home to non-league Whitby Town in the first round of the FA CUP in Week Fourteen. Cove Rangers won 7-2 at home to Edinburgh City in the league in Week Twenty-One. Celtic won 7-1 at home to Dundee in the league in Week Thirty-One. FALKIRK won 7-1 away to Montrose in the league in Week Thirty-Five. 

JOHN FILTNESS is still at the top this weekend as he picks up a total of 5 goals from the weekend. John has now been at the top for a total of  10 weeks throughout the season. His teams are Leicester City, Liverpool and Manchester City. John has now beaten our 1988/89 Champion Alec Short score of 280 goals in our “Champions League”. Scott Thomson (1) has moved up to second place with his 1^st combination. Scott picked up a total of 8 goals from the weekend with his teams of  Liverpool, Manchester City and Notts County. Scott is just 2 goals behind John.

At the other end at 110 we still have CHARLIE FARLEY (John Wood) for his 18^th consecutive weekend. John picked up a a total of 6 goals this weekend. John has Kilmarnock, Ross County and Stenhousemuir. John has moved up to 33^rd place in our “Losers League” this week.
