LAURIE KING is now in his third weekend at the top. Laurie picked up a
total of just five goals for the week with them all coming at the weekend. His goals came from Arsenal 2, Peterborough 1
and Rangers 2. Laurie is still three goals clear of RICHARD
WILLIAMS as his remains in second place once again. Richards teams picked him up five goals all from the weekend.
His teams are Hibernian, Manchester City and Rangers.
At the other end, it’s still JOHN NICHOLLS now in his eighteenth
weekend at number 119 as his combination picked him up four goals again all
from the weekend. His teams are Arsenal,
Bolton and Newcastle.
100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Only eleven
of us managed to pick up some more goals this week but the highest score this
week was a total of just three goals and they all went to STEPTOE & SON who had Queens Park 2 and Queen of the South 1. Their third team is QPR. The
rag and bone men of Golden Goals are now on a total of 23 midweek goals and a bit
behind the field.
So there
was just two changes in the race for the cash this week. CRAIG EVANS and DANIEL
GOODSON are both sharing the
lead again this week both on a total of 48 goals. In second place is still RICHARD WILLIAMS with 44 goals. In third we still have NATHAN TREADWELL on a total of 43 goals while in fourth place on 42
goals we have BARBARA BARNES (2) and
TOM MACDONALD but up from five this week we have JAMES HUNTER to join them. In fifth place we have JOHN DAVIES and TONY KING both on 41 goals. In
sixth place this week we have MARK
HOWARD and ADRIAN BEW and back
in BARRY BORROUGHS all on 40 goals.
This weekend we had two winners to share the £5 cash jackpot
this weekend which means that we have now had a total of 21 winners. Our
winners are SIMON DICKINSON and GRAHAM WARMAN both winning on a score of 9 goals each.
Simon has been with the competition for
fourteen seasons now and I thank him for his loyal support. Simon started with
us back in our 2002/03 season, where he finished in the winning frame in 24th
place on a total of 301 goals.Not only did he finish in the winning frame
picking up £4 in cash, but he also won the 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot of £20.
Last season he finished in the winning frame once again in 8th place
on 293 goals taking home £19 in cash.
This season, Simon has picked up two blank score sheets and
he has equalled his highest score of the season with week two. His best team is
Celtic picking him up 48 of his 136 total and we see Simon at his highest
position to date.
Graham is in his second season with us and
last season he finished in 85th place on 235 goals. This season only
keeping Celtic from last season, Graham has also had two blank score sheets and
this is his highest score to date. “8th is his highest position in

WEEKEND RESULTS
Our teams
did not have a great weekend for goals last weekend and they certainly did not
do any better this weekend. But the
good news is that the average score shot up from one of last weekend to 5 goals
this weekend. It’s really strange as we had eight of our teams that had no game
which most were cancelled due to the
weather. Another twelve teams failed to score any goals.
The highest
score that we had came from PORTSMOUTH
in league two as they win 4-0 at home against Hartlepool.
Portsmouth are now on a total of 43 goals and they have now
scored thirteen goals in their last four games. They are currently in fourth place
in the league and they have four votes this season.
Portsmouth are in their 18th Season with Golden Goals and they started with
us back in our 1985/86 Season and they finished on a grand score of 82 goals.
They were our 50th English team to be voted in. Their highest score
came in 2002/03 with 101 goals. Last season they finished on 55 goals. They
have already beaten their lowest score of 40 goals back in our 2008/09 Season.
Over the years they have netted a total of 1,120 goals which gives them an average
score of 62 goals per season to date.
PREMIERSHIP
We have the top two teams here as we see ARSENAL move
to the top as they win 2-0 away to Aston Villa. Arsenal are now on 31 goals and
they have scored in all of their six games. MANCHESTER CITY are in
second place just in front of Leicester City in third. City were lucky to beat
Swansea 2-1 at home with a very late goal. City are now on 45 goals. MANCHESTER
UNITED are in fourth place as they lost 2-1 away to Bournemouth. United hit
goal number twenty-four. TOTTENHAM are in fifth place as they lost 2-1
at home against NEWCASTLE after going a goal in front. Tottenham are on
27 goals while Newcastle are on 22. NORWICH drew 1-1 at home to EVERTON
to give them goal number 24 while Everton are on 39. Everton have now scored in
all of their last nine games. It’s 18 for WATFORD as they win 1-0 away
to Sunderland. WEST HAM picked up their 3rd blank score sheet
of the season as they drew 0-0 at home to Stoke. West Ham have now failed to
score in their last two games. LIVERPOOL are on 28 goals as they drew
2-2 at home to West Brom.
CHAMPIONSHIP
We now have the top seven teams here with BRIGHTON still
at the top as they drew 2-2 away to DERBYwho moved down to fourth place.
Brighton take their goals tally to 31 while Derby are on 29. MIDDLESBROUGH
are still in second place as they drew 0-0 at home to Birmingham to pick up
their 9th blank score sheet. HULL moved up to third place as
they win 1-0 at home against BOLTON. Hull hit goal number 35 while
Bolton picked up their 12th blank of the season. BURNLEY are still
in fifth place as they drew 0-0 at home to QPR. Burnley have had six
blank score sheets and now two games in a row while Rangers picked up their 6th
and now just two goals in their last seven games.
CARDIFF are still in sixth place as they drew
2-2 at home to Sheffield Wednesday. Cardiff are on 26 goals this weekend. CHARLTON
drew 0-0 at home to LEEDS and that was their 9th blank while
Leeds picked up their 8th
BRENTFORD are on 28 goals as they drew 2-2
away to Fulham. BRISTOL CITY won 2-1 away to Huddersfield and that gives
them a total of 21 goals after a two game dry spell. MK DONS 11th
blank score sheet and now three in a row as they lost 1-0 at home to IPSWICH.
Ipswich picked up goal number 35. PRESTON are on 22 goals this week as
they win 1-0 at home to Reading.
LEAGUE ONE
BURTON ALBION are top here as they win 3-0 away to
Gillingham. Burton are doing well as they take their goals tally up to 29. They
have scored eleven goals in their last four games. PETERBOROUGH come next in fifth place as they drew 1-1 at home to
Shrewsbury. Borough are now on 55 goals and that is now a goal run of
twenty-four games in a row. CHESTERFIELD
lost 1-0 away to Bury and that was their 8th blank of the season and
now only one goal in their last four games. PORT VALE are on 32 goals as they drew 1-1 at home with SCUNTHORPE. Scunthorpe hit goal number
22. SWINDON won 2-1 at home to
Rochdale and are now on 33 goals. BLACKPOOL
picked up another goal as they win 1-0 away to WIGAN. Blackpool are on 17 goals now while Wigan picked up their
third blank in a row and eight over the season. SHEFFIELD UNITED win 1-0
at home to second place Coventry to take their goals total to 38.
LEAGUE TWO
Our highest team here is PLYMOUTH
in third place as they lost 2-1 at home against Cambridge United. Plymouth
picked up their fourth single goal in a row and are now on 32 goals. Next comes
Portsmouth after their big win in
fourth place.It’s 33 for STEVENAGE as
they win 2-1 away to AFC Wimbledon. LEYTON
ORIENT drew 1-1 away to Mansfield and are on 40 goals. After a two game dry
spell for goals, LUTON are now on 41
as they lost 4-3 at home to Northampton.
SCOTTISH
LEAGUES
In the Premiership, CELTIC are now four points clear of Aberdeen as they win 3-0 away
to St Johnstone to take their goals tally to 48. ABERDEEN are still in second place then, as they win 1-0 at home to
third place HEARTS. Aberdeen are on
28 goals while Hearts picked up their 3rd blank score sheet of the
season.
In the Championship, RANGERS drew their second league game of the season after they
drew 2-2 at home to Morton. Rangers are back as our best team this weekend with
56 goals and they keep their 100%scoring record going after nineteen games
played this season. HIBERNIAN drew
1-1 at home to FALKIRK to give them
a total of 38 goals while Falkirk are on 40. In the lower leagues, STENHOUSEMUIR lost 1-0 at home to
Albion and that gave them their fifth blank of the season. BERWICK lost 3-2 at home to Elgin. Berwick are now on 22 goals
after a two game dry spell for goals. CLYDE
won 2-0 at home to East Fife and are now on 26 goals. QUEENS
PARK won 1-0 at home to Arbroath to pick up goal number 31.

team this week is still BOLTON They have had a total of twelve blank score sheets out of twenty-one
games played. They have scored just five goal in their last ten games.

team this weekend is RANGERS after scoring in
all of their nineteen League/Cup games played keeping their 100% scoring record
in-tacked. They are on a total of 56 goals. That’s roughly three goals per game.
We have eight

while MANCHESTER CITY won 6-1 at home to Newcastle in the League in week nine. NEWCASTLE’S won 6-2 at home against
