More News

The UK government plans to set up the first of a series of regular meetings involving senior medical directors of the major sports this week in a bid to return to action as soon as possible. Although the football games will be behind lock doors, it is with some relief that the season 2019/20 or our Season 37 might have a chance of restarting. With nine matches left, these could, in theory, be completed in four weeks. Fingers crossed.

Celtic Champions Again?

We are just waiting now for the SPFL to decide whether the Scottish Premiership season is over after the Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said today that "big gatherings and events" are off for "some months to come" and had previously cast doubt on playing matches behind closed doors.
With at least eight games left to play Celtic are 13 points clear of Rangers in the Premiership, Celtic will be crowned Champions, while Hearts four points behind Hamilton at the bottom of the table will be relegated.
We are still waiting for the EFL to decide on what is going to happen to the English leagues.

Scottish Season Finished?

It is now official that the lower Scottish leagues have now finished their season. Dundee United have become Champions of the Championship, RAITH ROVERS Champions of League One and COVE RANGERS Champions of League Two. This now means that Partick Thistle and Stranraer, were now relegated.
It is not known about the Premiership, but SPFL are thinking of a reconstruction of the Premiership from twelve teams to fourteen next season.

Update on Season 37

Well the 4th April has been and gone and there is no sign of the season restarting or is there? The EFL have set a new date of 30th April. This will mean that all four English leagues the domestic campaign which have only nine matches left, could, in theory, be completed in the space of four weeks. That is if people stay at home.
