Week Twenty-Two

In Week Twenty-Two of the competition we had our twenty-fifth winner of the season as TONY JENKINS wins on a total of 11 goals to pick up the full cash weekend prize of  £6. 
Tony has been with us since the 2007/08 Season where he finished in 69th place out of 90 that took part on a total of 235 goals.He picked up one weekend win worth £2. Last season he finished in the winning frame in 14th place on a total of 306 goals. With two weekend wins, Tony won over £26 in cash. This season he has been as high as 23rd place in Week Two. With three blank weekend score sheets, Tony has won on his person best score. His best team is Manchester City.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
All of us managed to pick up some goals in midweek from the Boxing Day games. It was MIKE ADKINS that picked up the most amount of goals with thirteen which takes his midweek goals total to 44. They came From, Celtic and Liverpool four goals each and Tottenham with five. So the race for the cash has changed once again this week.
GRAHAM HARRIS is way out in front as he picks up nine goals and he now has a total of 63 goals. His combination is Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom. In second place and now ten goals behind Graham, we have JOHN DAVIES and ANN WELLARD up from three both with a total of 53 goals. In joint third place with a total of 49 goals we now have BRADLEY HAYES coming in with DANNY HARRINGTON moving up from five and JUNE TIGHE up from four. In joint fourth place on 48 goals we still have JAMES BLYTH and DAVE WOOD.

WEEKEND RESULTS
This weekend all of us have picked up some goals and what a crazy week we have had from our teams. After a great start to the Christmas period from the Boxing Day results, it all fell a bit flat at the weekend. We had all of our teams in action with twenty teams that failed to score any goals this weekend. So the average score went up back up from six goals from last weekend back down to 5 goals this weekend.
The highest score that we had this weekend came from the English Premiership once again where LIVERPOOL won 5-1 at home to ARSENAL. With their highest score of the season, Liverpool are now on a total of 49 goals and they have now scored in all of their last twelve games. Arsenal picked up goal number 47. Also to hit five goals was PORTSMOUTH from league one where they won 5-2 away to Fleetwood. With their biggest result of the season, Portsmouth are now on a total of 50 goals.

PREMIERSHIP
We are back up to the top eight teams now in the prem with Liverpool remaining top after they big win against Arsenal. They are now seven points clear of MANCHESTER CITY in second place after they won 3-1 away to Southampton. City have now taken their goals tally to 60 goals. TOTTENHAM are still in third place after they lost 3-1 at home to WOLVES after going a goal up at half-time. Tottenham are now on 50 goals and they have now scored in all of their last twelve games. Wolves are now on 25 goals. CHELSEA still in fourth after they won with a late goal, 1-0 away to Crystal Palace and that was their 44th goal of the season. With Arsenal still in fifth place, MANCHESTER UNITED are still in sixth place as they win 4-1 at home to BOURNEMOUTH. United are now on a total of 43 goals while Bournemouth hit goal number 36.EVERTON lost 1-0 away to Brighton to pick up their fourth blank of the season and FULHAM are now second from bottom as they win 1-0 at home against Huddersfield to pick up goal 23.LEICESTER CITY lost 1-0 at home to Cardiff and they have now had six blank score sheets. WEST HAM lost 2-0 away to Burnley and they have picked up their eighth blank score sheet of the season and now just two goals in their last three games.

CHAMPIONSHIP
In the Championship, LEEDS UNITED are still on top here and now three points in front Norwich, after they lost 2-0 at home to HULL. That is Leeds third blank of the season after a goal run of eighteen games. Hull are now on 31 goals. WEST BROM are in third place after they drew 1-1 at home to Sheffield Wednesday. West Brom are now on 56 goals. DERBY are in sixth place after they won 4-3 away to Norwich. Derby have taken their goals tally to 47. BIRMINGHAM drew 0-0 at home to BRENTFORD and that is their eighth blank of the season to Brentford’s five. STOKE picked up their sixth blank and now two in a row as they drew 0-0 away to Bolton. ROTHERHAM picked up their ninth blank score sheet and now three in a row after they lost 1-0 away to Bristol City. IPSWICH lost 2-0 away to Middlesbrough to pick up their twelfth blank score sheet and they are still bottom and now five points behind Reading. NOTTINGHAM FOREST picked up their sixth blank score sheet and now after they lost 1-0 away to Millwall. ASTON VILLA are on 48 goals as they drew 1-1 away to Preston. BLACKBURN lost 3-1 away to Sheffield United and that is their fifth blank of the season. SWANSEA drew 2-2 at home to Wigan and they are now on 31 goals.

LEAGUE ONE
We still have the top six now here with Portsmouth still top after their win. LUTON are still in second place after they drew 2-2 away to Walsall. Luton are now on 52 goals and they have now scored in all of their last ten games. SUNDERLAND in third place drew 1-1 at home to SHREWSBURY and that is their 47th goal of the season to Shrewsbury’s 35. BARNSLEY have moved up to fourth place after they won 2-1 at home to CHARLTON. Barnsley arenow on 49 goals while Charlton now in sixth place are on 46 goals. PETERBOROUGH are up to fourth place as they win 4-0 away to ACCRINGTON STANLEY. Borough are now on 54 goals while Accrington picked up their sixth blank of the season. It’s 40 goals for BURTON ALBION  as they drew1-1 at home to PLYMOUTH who are now on 33 goals. COVENTRY won 1-0 at home to SOUTHEND and they are now on 28 goals while Southend picked up their seventh blank score sheet. It’s 30 for BRISTOL ROVERS as they win 2-0 away to Oxford Utd. ROCHDALE lost 4-0 at home to Bradford and that is their sixth blank of the season. After a six game dry spell for goals, SCUNTHORPE are now on 33 goals as they win 1-0 at home to WYCOMBE who picked up their sixth blank score sheet.

LEAGUE TWO
We now have the top three here with LINCOLN CITY on top after they won 2-1 away to Cambridge Utd. Lincoln are now on 54 goals. MK DONS are in second place after they drew 2-2 away to Northampton. The Dons are now on 39 goals. MANSFIELD are now in third place after they drew 0-0 at home to SWINDON. As Mansfield picked up their fifth blank score sheet, Swindon have now had eleven. EXETER picked up goal number 39 but they lost 2-1 at home to Grimsby. NOTTS COUNTY drew 0-0 at home to Bury and that is their tenth blank of the season. OLDHAM won 4-1 away to Port Vale and they are now on a total of 42 goals.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Premiership, CELTIC are on top after they lost 1-0 away to rivals RANGERS. In second place. Celtic picked up their fifth blank of the season while Rangers hit goal number 50. ABERDEEN are down to fourth place after they won 2-1 away to Livingston. Aberdeen are now on 39 goals. HEARTS won 1-0 away to HIBERNIAN and that is their 44th goal of the season while Hibs picked up their seventh blank of the season. HAMILTON  lost 2-1 at home to Motherwell and that is their 19th goal of the season.
In the Championship, ROSS COUNTY are still top here after they won 2-1 at home to Inverness CT. County are now on a total of 43 goals. AYR UNITED are still to second place after they drew 1-1 away to Queen of South. Ayr are now on a total of 52 goals. ALLOA won 2-1 at home to Dundee Utd to take their goals total to 30 goals while FALKIRK are still bottom of the table as they lost 4-2 at home to Dunfermline. Falkirk are now on 22 goals.
In League One, RAITH ROVERS in second place lost 2-1 at home to East Fife but they have taken their goals tally up to 47 and they have now scored in all of their last twenty games. STENHOUSEMUIR are still bottom of the league after they drew 2-2 at home to DUMBARTON.  Stenhousenuir are now on 27 goals to Dumbarton’s 31.
In League Two, PETERHEAD are in second place as they win 3-0 away to Elgin to take them up to 43 goals.

Our Best teams this week are RAITH ROVERS after they have scored in all of their last twenty League and Cup games out of twenty-four played. They have a total of 47 goals which gives them a average score of 2 goals per game.

Our worst team is HAMILTON again this weekend as they have picked up a total of thirteen blank score sheets out of twenty-five league and cup games played this season. They have now scored just two goals in their last six games.

Our biggest result in our 36th Season are now WEST HAM UNITED who won 8-0 at home against Macclesfield in the Carabao/League Cup Third Round in Week Nine.

KELLIE STRATTON is still top this weekend after she collected a total of eleven goals with four of them coming from the weekend. Kellie has now been top for two weeks and three over the season with her combination of Celtic, Manchester City and West Brom. Robert Freeman has moved up to second place after he picked up a total of twelve goals. His teams are Celtic, Manchester City and Peterborough.
At the other end at 133 we still have John Filtness at the bottom for his thirteenth consecutive weekend as he picks up a total of twelve goals for the week. He has now had sixteen weeks at the bottom and he is now just ten goals adrift this weekend. His teams are  Birmingham, Hamilton and Liverpool.
