Week Twenty-Eight

In Week Twenty-Eight of the competition we are going to have our seventh Rollover of the season next weekend as we had six players that picked up this weekends highest score with 14 goals each. They are TOM BAXTER, BRADLEY CLARK, CHRIS DICKER, BOB SAWYER, TONY SKINNER and JAMIE WOOD. All of them had part Celtic and Manchester City combo which made up eleven of their fourteen goals. So next weekend we are looking at winning a total of £12 in cash.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
All but one of us managed to pick up some goals in midweek this week. The highest score that we had was with eight goals and they all went to ANTHONY PIRES. Anthony has Aston Villa, Liverpool and Rangers and it brings his midweek goals total to 58.
So the race for the cash has a slight change this week. This week we have added another twelve players with 50 or more midweek goals and this week it has moved up to a total of 113.
This week we are back to joint leaders once again in the race for the cash with GRAHAM HARRIS and JUNE TIGHE who has moved back from second place last week. Both are now on a total of 84 goals. Graham has Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom while June has Derby, Manchester City and Tottenham. In second place up from three is  JAMIE WOOD with 82 goals. In third place on 79 goals we have DANNY HARRINGTON up from five. In joint fourth place all with a total of 78 goals we still have KAREN SMITH and ANN WELLARD but they are now joined with MARK GREGORY. In fifth place both on 77 goals we still have MICHAEL FISHER also with KELLIE STRATTON coming back in the race.

WEEKEND RESULTS
What a weekend for goals we had this weekend as the average shot up from five goals from last weekend to a fantastic 9 goals this weekend. We all managed to pick up goals this weekend. The reason for the high score this weekend is that we had just six teams without a game over the weekend and we then had another fourteen teams that failed to score any goals.
The highest score that we had came from the Premiership where MANCHESTER CITY beat CHELSEA 6-0 at home.
City are now top of the premiership on goal difference with Liverpool and they have now scored in all of their last sixteen games. They are now on a total of 102 goals which is City’s fifth time of scoring 100 or more goals in a season and their second consecutive season. Last season they finished on a score of 123 goals. So is City now going to beat their own record of 137 goals which they scored back in the 2013/14 Season? well the writing is on the wall as they face Newport County in the FA Cup this Saturday.
