Week Thirty-Seven

In Week Thirty-Seven of the competition we had our 40th winner of the season who is JOHN DAVIES. John won on a score of 12 goals to pick up the full Weekend Jackpot of £6.00 in cash.                  
John is in his fourth season with Golden Goals as he started with us in the 2015/16 Season. In that season, John finished in the winning frame in third place on a total of 289 goals, collecting over £51 in cash including a shared weekend win. Last season John finished in 82nd place on 267 goals again collecting a shared weekend win. This season he has been as high as third place and that was in Weeks Five and Six. John has picked up a total of three blank score sheets through the season. His teams are

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
We already know that GRAHAM HARRIS has won this season’s 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot of £30 last week. Graham is now on a total of 103 goals. His combination is Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom. But can Graham beat our record held by Daryl Nicholls with 136 goals from the 2016/17 Season? We have a busy Easter weekend coming up. John Davies is in second place with 98 goals while Kellie Stratton is in third place with 97 goals. Adam Sansom is in fourth place with 95 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS
We had most of our teams in action again over weekend with eleven of them failing to score any goals and another five teams that had no game. So the weekends average score shot up from just three to 7 goals. The reason is that our teams really put on a show this weekend with very high scores.
The highest score that we had was five goals and we had two teams that reached that score. They came from the Premiership where BOURNEMOUTH won 5-0 away to Brighton to take their goals total up to 58 goals with their biggest win of the season. The other team was COVENTRY from the League One where they won 5-4 away to SUNDERLAND. With their biggest win of the season, Coventry are now on a total of 52 goals while Sunderland are on 77.

WILLIAM HILL CUP Semi-Finals
We had three of our teams playing in the semi-finals and they were Champions CELTIC, who won 3-0 away to ABERDEEN. Celtic are now on a total of 92 goals while Aberdeen picked up their tenth blank of the season. Celtic will be playing HEARTS in the final as they won 3-0 at home to Inverness CT. Hearts are now on a total of 67 goals.

PREMIERSHIP
We still have the top nine teams here with LIVERPOOL holding on to top place after they won 2-0 at home against CHELSEA in fourth place. Liverpool are now on a total of 79 goals while Chelsea picked up their twelfth blank of the season. MANCHESTER CITY are in second place and two points behind Liverpool as they win 3-1 away to Crystal Palace. City are still our top scoring team with 122 goals. They have now scored in all of their last eight games. TOTTENHAM are still third as they won 4-0 at home to Huddersfield. They are now on 80 goals. In fifth place is MANCHESTER UNITED who won 2-1 at home against WEST HAM. United take their goals tally up to 73 goals while West Ham hit goal number 58 after a tow game dry spell. Sixth is Arsenal and Leicester City are in seventh place. Eight is WOLVES who lost 3-1 away to Southampton to pick up goal number 55 while EVERTON follow as they lost to relegated FULHAM 2-0 away. Everton have picked up their ninth blank of the season while Fulham are now on a total of 38 goals.


CHAMPIONSHIP
LEEDS UNITED have moved back up to second place after they won 1-0 at home against Sheffield Wednesday. Leeds are now on 72 goals. In the Play-off Zone we have just two teams with WEST BROM still in fourth place after they won 4-0 at home against Preston. West Brom are now on 86 goals. ASTON VILLA are still in fifth place after they won 2-1 at home to Bristol City. Villa are now on a total of 78 goals and they have now scored in all of their last nine games.
Meanwhile, DERBY are on 75 goals after they won 4-0 at home against Bolton. Bottom of the table IPSWICH drew 1-1 at home to BIRMINGHAM. Ipswich are now on a total of 34 goals while Birmingham hit goal number 58. HULL picked up their thirteenth blank of the season as they lost 1-0 away to Middlesbrough. BLACKBURN won 2-1 away to NOTTINGHAM FOREST and they are now on 71 goals while Forest are on 65. After picking up twelve goals in their last five games, SWANSEA picked up their thirteenth blank score sheet after they lost 4-0 away to Queens Park Rangers. It’s 80 goals for BRENTFORD who lost 2-1 away to Reading. STOKE drew 2-2 at home to ROTHERHAM and they are now on a total of 48 goals while Rotherham are on 49.

LEAGUE ONE
We are still doing well here with LUTON still on top after they lost 3-1 away to CHARLTON. Luton are now on a total of 84 goals. Charlton are on 68 goals. In second place and now just five points behind Luton is BARNSLEY. They won 4-2 at home against Fleetwood. Barnsley are now on a total of 81 goals.
In the Play-off Zone, in third place is Sunderland and in fourth place we still have PORTSMOUTH. They won 4-1 at home to ROCHDALE and they are now on 83 goals and they have now scored in all of their last seven games. Rochdale picked up goal number 56. Charlton remain in fifth place.
Meanwhile ACCRINGTON STANLEY are on 49 goals after they won 2-1 at home to Walsall. PETERBOROUGH won 1-0 away to Blackpool and they take their goals total up to 72. BRISTOL ROVERS won 3-2 at home to Bradford and they are on 49 goals. PLYMOUTH lost 2-0 away to Doncaster and that is their fifteenth blank and now two in a row. SHREWSBURY won 2-0 away to Gillingham and they have taken their goals total to 61. It’s 70 goals for BURTON ALBION as they win 3-0 away to SCUNTHORPE who have picked up their sixteenth blank of the season. WYCOMBE are on 58 goals after they won 2-0 away to SOUTHEND, who picked up their fourteenth blank of the season and now just two goals in their last five games.

LEAGUE TWO
Congratulations to LINCOLN CITY who have been promoted to League One after they drew 1-1 at home to Cheltenham. Lincoln are now on a total of 84 goals and they have extended their goal run to twenty-nine games. MANSFIELD have moved down to third place after they drew 1-1 away to Mansfield and that is their 70th goal of the season.
In the Play-off Zone this weekend we have two teams left in it and they are MK DONS who lost 2-1 away to Tranmere. The Dons are now on 71 goals. It’s 60 goals for EXETER who are still in seventh place after they won 2-0 at home to Port Vale.
Meanwhile NOTTS COUNTY picked up their eighteenth blank score sheet after they lost 3-0 away to Crewe. OLDHAM drew 2-2 at home to SWINDON and they are on 69 goals while Swindon are on 55.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Scottish Championship, leaders ROSS COUNTY drew 0-0 at home to Partick and that is their eighth blank of the season. ALLOA  won 1-0 at home to Queen of South and that is their 49th goal of the season. FALKIRK won 1-0 away to Dunfermline and that is goal number 40 for them.
In League One, RAITH ROVERS are still in second place after they lost 3-2 at home against Stranraer. Raith are on 78 goals and have now scored in all of their last nine games. DUMBARTON drew 0-0 away to Forfar and that is their ninth blank of the season after a goal run of eleven games. Bottom of the table STENHOUSEMUIR won 1-0 away to Airdrie and that is their 43rd goal.  
In League Two, PETERHEAD are still top after they drew 1-1 at home to Albion to take their goals tally up to 64 goals.

Our Best teams this week are LINCOLN CITY after they have scored in all of their last twenty-nine League and Cup games out of forty-seven played. They have a total of 84 goals which gives them a average score of 1.7 goals per game.

Our worst team this week is HAMILTON as they have now picked up a total of twenty-one blank score sheets out of thirty-eight League and Cup games played this season. They have now scored just four goals in their last eight games.

Our biggest result in our 36th Season comes from MANCHESTER CITY as they win 9-0 at home against league one BURTON ALBION in the Carabao/League Cup semi-final first leg tie in Week Twenty-Four.

KELLIE STRATTON is back at the top this weekend with her sixth weekend of the season. Kellie picked up a total of twelve goals for the week from Celtic, Manchester City and West Brom. She has also climbed up the Champions League to 25th place by beating our joint winners Ricky Wood and Gerry Kyei score of 293 goals in the 2007/08 Season, Tony Axford’s score of 297 goals in the 1991/92 Season and Richard William’s score of 298 goals in the 2015/16 Season. Bob has moved back down to second place as he collected a total of seven goals all coming at the weekend. His teams are once again. Celtic, Luton and Manchester City.
At the other end at 133 we still have John Filtness at the bottom for a total of twenty-eight consecutive weekends as he picks up a total of four goals for the week. He has now had thirty-one weeks at the bottom but he is now twenty goals adrift  this weekend. His teams are Birmingham, Hamilton and Liverpool. John has made more progress in our Loser’s League by beating our lowest score in the 2017/18 Season by Colin Pinder with his score of 162 goals to move up to 31st place in our Losers League.
