Week Sixteen

In Week Sixteen of the competition we had just one player to pick up our third Rollover of the season of £10. They are ANDY EYLES who becomes our sixteenth winner of the season winning on a score of 13 goals, which is his personal best weekend score.

Andy started with Golden Goals back in the 2004/05 Season on where he finished in the winning frame in 25th place on a total of 275 goals. Last season he also finished in the winning frame in 19th place with a total of 309 goals. This season, Andy is in his highest position to date. He has picked up 3 blank weekend score sheets and Celtic is his best team. His winning teams are

                                       ARSENAL 3, CELTIC 4, MIDDLESBROUGH 6

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

We had just 2 of our teams in action during midweek, so the race for the 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot has remained the same as last weeks. In the lead we have BARBARA BARNES (2) who has extended her lead by 7 goals with that goal from Falkirk. Barbara has a total of 36 goals. Her teams are Celtic, Falkirk and Manchester United. In second place we still have DAVID BARRETT and ALFIE DIMMOCK both with a total of 29 goals. In third place we have STUART KEMP (1), BRUCE SELF and RICKY WOOD our 2007/08 joint Champion. All are on a total of 27 goals. In fourth place with a total of 26 goals we have PHIL COLLINS, CHRIS SETFORD and SCOTT THOMSON (1). In fifth place we have MARTIN CORBETT and STUART KEMPT (2)  both with a total of 25 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had a few of our games cancelled over the weekend due to the storm “Bert” hitting our shores. We then had 11 of our teams without a game over the weekend, and another 6 of them failed to score any goals. Despite that, we had a really good weekend with the average score coming in at 6 goals. So if you have done better than that? Well done.

The highest score over the weekend was 6 goals, and they came from the Championship where MIDDLESBROUGH won 6-2 away to OXFORD UNITED. With their biggest result of the season, Brough have taken their goals total to 32 and have now score a total of 15 goals in their last 3 games. Oxford are on a total of 21 goals.

Middlesbrough started with Golden Goals back in the 1986/87 Season where they became our 58th voted English team. They finished with a total of 78 goals. Their highest score of 92 goals came in the 1996/97 and then again in the following season of 1997/98. Last season they finished on a total of 87 goals. This is their 22nd season with us and over that time they have netted a total of 1503 goals, which gives them an average score of 68 goals per season to date. This season they have just 2 votes and have had a total of 5 blank score sheets. Here are the weekend results.
