The Midweek Prize Money of £25 has won last week by James Blyth. Most of us have managed to pick up some midweek goals once again this week. The highest score that we had was 7 goals and they went to VINCENT CRUICKSHANK with his teams of Leeds United, Manchester City and Peterborough United and MICHAEL PEPPERRELL with Birmingham City, Leeds United and Manchester City. Although the race for the cash is over, there is a record still to beat. That record to beat is 136 midweek goals and the record holder is Daryl Nicholls from the 2016/17 Season.
We can report that we have 3 players that have reached that 100 goals mark this week. They are JAMES BLYTH now with a total of 107 goals. MIKE HARRINGTON our 1997/98 Champion with a total of 105 goals, RICKY WOOD our 2007/08 Champion, with a total of 102 goals. We then have GRANT PHILLIPS and MARK WALKER both on a total of 99 goals, ALFIE DIMMOCK is on a total of 98 goals.
WEEKEND RESULTS
We had 3 of our teams without a game over the weekend and the ones that did play, only 3 of them failed to score any goals. We should of then had a really fantastic weekend from our teams, but we had very low scores with our last full league fixture of the season. The average score went down from six goals from last weekend to just 4 goals this weekend. Well done if you had more than that. The highest score over the weekend was 6 goals, and they came from the Scottish League Two CLYDE.
Clyde became our 29th Scottish team to enter Golden Goals in the 2004/05 season and finished with a total of 41 goals. Their highest score came in the 2015/16 season with 60 goals. Last season they finished with a total of 55 goals. This season they had just 1 vote and they picked up a total of 11 blank score sheets. They have finished with a total of 59 goals which is their 2nd best score over the four season’s that they have been with us. Over the years they have netted a total of 215 goals now which gives them an average score of 53.5 goals per season.
PREMIER LEAGUE
League Champions LIVERPOOL lost their 4th league game, 3-1 away to CHELSEA who are still in 5th place. Liverpool have become our second team to score 100 goals this season. They have now scored in all of their last 13 league/cup games. Chelsea are on a total of 73 goals. ARSENAL remained in 2nd place after they lost their 4th league game 2-1 at home to AFC BOURNEMOUTH. Arsenal picked up goal number 76 and have now scored in all of their last 8 league games. Bournemouth are on a total of 61 goals. With Manchester City in 3rd place, NEWCASTLE UNITED are down to 4th place in the league after they drew 1-1 away to Brighton. Newcastle are on a total of 86 goals and have a goal run of 10 league/cup games. ASTON VILLA won 1-0 at home to Fulham and are on a total of 67 goals. After they had failed to score in their last 2 league games, MANCHESTER UNITED lost 4-3 away to Brentford and are on a total of 61 goals. WEST HAM UNITED drew 1-1 to London rivals TOTTENHAM and are on a total of 43 goals and have now scored in all of their last 5league games. Tottenham are on 76 goals and they have also scored in all of their last 5 league games. IPSWICH TOWN are also relegated after they drew 2-2 away to Everton and are on a total of 45 goals. Relegated LEICESTER CITY won 2-0 at home to SOUTHAMPTON, who are also relegated. City after they had failed to score in their last 2 previous league are now on a total of 42 goals. Southampton have picked up their 15th blank of the season.
CHAMPIONSHIP
We already know that Burnley and Leeds United are promoted and in their last Championship game, LEEDS UNITED won 2-1 away to Plymouth and have finished on a total of 96 goals and had scored in all of their last 10 games. BURNLEY won 3-1 at home to MILLWALL and have finished their season on a total of 75 goals and a goal run of 5 league games. Millwall finished on a total of 54 goals and a goal run of 7 league games.
In the Play-offs we have just 1 of the four teams and they are SHEFFIELD UNITED in 3rd place as they drew 1-1 at home to Blackburn Rovers. United are on a total of 67 goals.
Meanwhile PRESTON NE drew 2-2 away to Bristol City and finished on a total of 61 goals and a goal run of 7 league games. MIDDLESBROUGH lost 2-0 away to Coventry City and that is their 15th blank of the season. NORWICH CITY finished on a total of 75 goals after they won 4-2 at home against Cardiff City. PORTSMOUTH drew their last game 1-1 at home to Hull City and finished on a total of 58 goals and a goal run of 5 league games SWANSEA CITY drew 3-3 at home to OXFORD UNITED and finished on a total of 54 goals. Oxford finished on a total of 52 goals. LUTON TOWN are relegated after they lost 5-3 away to WBA and have finished their season on a total of 46 goals.
LEAGUE ONE
BIMINGHAM CITY are promoted and top of the league, after they won 2-1 away to Cambridge Utd. City have finished on a total of 92 goals and had scored in all of their last 5 league games. WREXHAM are also promoted in 2nd place after they won 2-0 away to Lincoln City. Wrexham have finished on a total of 69 goals.
In the Play-offs we have just 1 team out of the four and they were CHARLTON. They won 3-1 at home to Burton and are on a total of 76 goals.
Meanwhile BLACKPOOL won 4-1 at home to Bristol Rovers and finished on a total of 81 goals. BOLTON WANDERERS drew 1-1 at home to Stevenage and finished on a total of 72 goals. HUDDERSFIELD TOWN lost 4-1 at home to Leyton Orient and finished on a total of 63 goals. BARNSLEY won 4-2 away to Reading and finished on a total of 72 goals and they have scored in all of their last 9 league games. PETERBOROUGH UNITED lost 1-1 away to Rotherham Utd and finished on a total of 76 goals and had scored in all of their last 6 league games.
LEAGUE TWO
Top of the table DONCASTER ROVERS already promoted after they won 2-1 away to NOTTS COUNTY. Rovers have finished on a total of 79 goals and have scored in all of their last 11 league games. County are on a total of 79 goals.
In the Play-offs we have 3 of the four teams. They are AFC WIMBLEDON now in 5th place after they won 1-0 away to Grimsby town and are on a total of 63 goals. Notts County are down to 6th place after there defeat. CHESTERFIELD move up to 7th place after they won 1-0 away to Accrington and are on a total to 77 goals.
Meanwhile BROMLEY won 3-0 at home to Cheltenham Town and finished on a total of 72 goals. MK DONS drew 0-0 away to Swindon Town and picked up their 21st blank of the season and finished on a total of 52 goals.
SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Premiership Champions CELTIC drew 1-1 away to rivals RANGERS in 2nd place. Celtic have taken their goals tally up to 134 while Rangers are on 86 goals. DUNDEE lost 2-1 at home to Motherwell and are on a total of 82 goals. HEARTS won 3-1 away to ROSS COUNTY and are now on a total of 55 goals. County are on 46 goals. KILMARNOCK won 2-0 away to St Johnstone and are on a total of 43 goals and have now scored in all of their last 6 league games.
In League One, COVE RANGERS are still in 2nd place after they won 4-2 away to Annan. Rangers are on a total of 69 goals. STENHOUSEMUIR in 4th place won 2-1 at home to Dumbarton and are on a total of 58 goals. Both teams are in the Championship Play-offs.
In League Two, top of the table PETERHEAD lost 6-1 away to CLYDE and finished on a total of 65 goals. Clyde with their biggest result of the season finished on a total of 59 goals. EAST FIFE who are still in 2nd place, won 2-0 at home to Elgin City and are on a total of 73 goals. Fife are in the League One Play-offs.

Our worst performing team is now MK DONS this weekend as they have had a total of 21 blank score sheets from 47 league/cup games. They have a total of 52 goals.
Our highest goal scoring team that we have in our 42nd Season are MANCHESTER CITY after they won 8-0 at home to Salford City in the FA Cup 3rd Round in Week Twenty-Three.
Our leader CLARA STEPHENS celebrates her 8th weekend at the top as her teams have picked up a total of 6 goals this week. Clara has Birmingham City, Celtic and Liverpool. Clara has now moved up to 13th place in our “Champions League”. Clara has now beaten Tony Patman’s score of 322 goals in the 1999/00 season, Ian Sweeney’s total of 326 goals in the 1985/86 season. James Blyth has remained in 2nd place this week but he has closed the gap to 4 goals behind Clara, James picked up a total of 11 goals from the week. His teams are Birmingham City, Celtic and Leeds United.
At the other end at 114, we have CHARLIE FARLEY with his 25th consecutive weekend. Charlie’s team’s pick him up a total of 5 goals this weekend. His teams are Kilmarnock, Ross County and Stenhousemuir. Charlie this weekend has now moved up to 39th place in our “Losers League” He has now beaten his own Ziggy score of 145 goals in the 2021/22 season and RU Shaw score of 146 goals in the 1995/96 season.
