In Week Twenty-Three of the competition, we had our 29th winner of the season as DAVE WOOD picks up our highest score of the season and his personal best weekend score with 17 goals. Dave picks up the full Weekend Prize Money of £5.
Dave started with Golden Goals way back in the 1990/91 season, where he finished in the winning frame in 6th place out of 52 entries, with a total of 264 goals. He also picked up two shared weekend wins. Last season Dave finished in 107th place with a total of 219 goals. This season, Dave is at his highest position to date and he has picked up a total of four blank weekend score sheets. His beat team are now Manchester City.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Just over half of us managed to pick up some goals this week, which means that our top six have changed once again this week. We now have a total of 11 players who have reached the halfway mark. It was STALKY (2) Bob Burgin that picked up the most number of goals with 7. They came from Brighton, Newcastle United and Rangers.
Way out in front this week we have BARBARA BARNES (1) now with a total of 61 goals. Barbara has Brighton, Manchester City and Wrexham. Still in second place we have SCOTT THOMSON (1) now on a total of 58 goals. In third place up from four we now have KEITH RATTLE now with a total of 57 goals. In fourth place we still have MICHAEL FISHER now with a total of 56 goals. In fifth place down from three we have EMMAF now with a total of 54 goals. In sixth place we have PHIL COLLINS down from five and coming back in TONY GUY (3) both on a total of 52 goals.
WEEKEND RESULTS
The weather has hit the league fixtures a little again this weekend, but what a weekend we had in the FA Cup 3rd Round. We had 42 of our teams in action over the weekend, and out of them just 4 failed to score any goals. With the very best weekend in our 43rd season to date, the average score was a fantastic 8 goals. I doubt if we will ever get there again this season. Well done if your teams picked up more than that. The highest score over the weekend was 10 goals and they came from the FA CUP 3rd Round where MANCHESTER CITY won 10-1 at home to Exeter. City have now taken their goals tally up to 62 goals. FA CUP 3rd Round
The rest of the 3rd round was played over the weekend and out of our 25 teams that entered that round, 13 have made it through to the fourth round. They are LEICESTER CITY who won 2-0 away to Cheltenham and are on a total of 41 goals and they have now scored in all of their last 10 league/cup games. WOLVES picked up their biggest result of the season 6-1 at home to Shrewsbury. Wolves have now taken their goals tally to 29 goals and have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games. SOUTHAMPTON won 3-2 away to Doncaster and are now on a total of 46 goals after they had failed to score in their last 2 league games. IPSWICH TOWN won 2-1 at home against BLACKPOOL and are on a total of 45 goals. Blackpool are on 37 goals and have extended their goal run to 9 league/cup games. BRISTOL CITY won 5-1 at home to WATFORD and that has taken their goal tally to 45. Watford are on 39 and have now scored in all of their last 16 league/cup games. BIRMINGHAM CITY won 3-2 away to Cambridge Utd and are now on a total of 40 goals. ASTON VILLA won 2-1 away to TOTTENHAM and are on a total of 36 goals. Tottenham are on 34 goals. CHELSEA won 5-1 away to Charlton and they have taken their goal tally to 48 goals and they have extended their goal run to 8 league/cup games. ARSENAL won 4-1 away to Portsmouth and have taken their goals tally to 49. NORWICH CITY picked up their biggest win of the season 5-1 at home to WALSALL. Norwich have taken their goals tally to 35 while Walsall are on 38 goals. BRIGHTON won 2-1 away to MANCHESTER UNITED and are on a total of 45 goals and have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games. United picked up goal number 39 and have extended their goal run to 10 league/cup games. SUNDERLAND drew 1-1 away to Everton and that is how it remained after extra time. Sunderland then won 3-0 on penalties. Sunderland are on a total of 23 goals. NEWCASTLE UNITED drew 3-3 at home to AFC BOURNEMOUTH after extra time and then won 7-6 on penalties. United are on a total of 43 goals while Bournemouth are on 37 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games. WEST HAM UNITED won 2-1 against QPR after extra time and are on a total of 26 goals.
Teams that went out are last season’s FA Cup holders CRYSTAL PALACE, who lost 2-1 away to non-league Macclesfield. Palace after they had failed to score in their last 2 league games, picked up their 28th goal of the season. MIDDLESBROUGH lost 3-1 away to Fulham and are on a total of 38 goals. SHEFFIELD UNITED lost 4-3 at home to Mansfield and are now on a total of 40 goals. They have now scored in all of their last 5 league/cup games. BLACKBURN ROVERS drew 0-0 away to Hull after extra time and then lost 4-3 on penalties. Rovers have now had a total of nine blank scoresheets.
LEAGUE ONE
CARDIFF CITY are top as they drew 1-1 away to LEYTON ORIENT and are on a total of 53 goals. They have now scored in all of their last 13 league/cup games. Orient are on a total of 37 goals.
In the Play-offs, STOCKPORT COUNTY have moved up to 4th place after they won 1-0 at home to HUDDERSFIELD TOWN. County are on a total of 40 goals after they had failed to score in their previous 2 league games. Town move down to 5th place as they picked up their 4th blank of the season after a goal run of 13 league/cup games. BOLTON WANDERERS move down to 6th place after they lost 3-1 away to PETERBOROUGH UNITED. Bolton are on a total of 37 goals while Peterborough are now on a total of 35 goals and have now scored in all of their last 8 league/cup games.
Meanwhile, LUTON TOWN won 2-1 at home against Stevenage and are on a total of 41 goals.
LEAGUE TWO
We had just two of our teams in action here and they were top of the table BROMLEY, who won 2-0 away to Tranmere and are on a total of 47 goals and have now extended their goal run to 16 league/cup games. CREWE drew 1-1 at home to Harrogate and are on a total of 41 goals.
SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Premiership, top of the table HEARTS won 1-0 away to Dundee and are on a total of 57 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 league games. RANGERS have moved up to 2nd place after they won 2-0 away to Aberdeen. Rangers have now scored in all of their last 9 league/cup games and are now on a total of 41 goals. It’s 50 goals for CELTIC after they won 4-0 at home to Dundee Utd. Celtic have moved down to 3rd place. HIBERNIAN drew 1-1 at home to Motherwell and are on a total of 39 goals and a goal run of 5 games.
In the Championship, AYR UNITED drew 1-1 at home to Airdrieonians and picked up goal number 44.
In League One STENHOUSEMUIR are still top of the table after they won 5-0 at home to EAST FIFE. Stenhousemuir with their biggest result of the season, have taken their goals tally to 35 goals. Fife picked up their 3rd consecutive blank scoresheet and now 7 over the season. COVE RANGERS drew 0-0 at home to Inverness CT and picked up their 12th blank of the season.

Our best performing team is BROMLEY after they have now scored in all of their last 16 league/cup games. With a total of 47 goals, their average score is 1.6 goals per game.
Our worst performing team is now COVE RANGERS this weekend, as they have picked up 12 blank scoresheets in their 25 league/cup games.
Our highest scoring team in our 43rd season are MANCHESTER CITY. They won 10-1 at home against Exeter City in the FA CUP 3rd Round, in Week Twenty-Three.
We now have BARBARA BARNES (1) at the top this week which makes her our fifth player to do so. Barbara picked up a total of 17 from the week. Her teams are Brighton, Manchester City and Wrexham. Dave Wood moves in to second place this weekend as he picks up a total of 22 goals from his teams this week. Dave is 3 goals behind Barbara with his teams of Arsenal, Manchester City and Newcastle United.
At the other end at 111 we still have CHARLIE FARLEY(John Wood) there for his second consecutive week and now three over the season. John picked up just 5 goals this week. His teams are Cove Rangers, East Fife and Stenhousemuir.
We have had the best weekend of the season so far. As you can see that the top ten has changed a bit this week.
