WEEK TWENTY-NINE


Once again, Mike Adkins has remained top again this weekend and has now completed his fifth weekend at the top. Mike picked up eight goals this week from his combination of Arsenal, Man City and Rangers.
Paul Davey has moved back into second place but he is now five goals behind Mike.
In the 103 spot we still have Malcolm Cormack who has now been there for four weeks, five over the season. Malcolm picked up just two goals from his teams of Charlton, Portsmouth and Swindon. Above him in 102 we still have John Dove. John picked up six goals from his combination of Arsenal, Bolton and Doncaster and is now eleven goals in front of malcolm.
Rangers still have that 100% scoring record as they have now stretched their total to twenty-nine games, as they drew 3-3 at home to Stenhousemuir.
Not much to shout about this week with our teams in Golden Goals but we did have one team that scored the highest amount of goals with five and they were Scunthorpe. They won 5-1 at home to Portsmouth. That is the biggest score to date for Scunthorpe as they are now on 51 goals. Portsmouth are now on 37 goals.
Chelsea are back on top in the English Premiership as they win 1-0 at home to Everton. Chlsea are now on 57 while Everton picked up their 8th blank of the season. Arsenal won 4-1 at home to Sunderland and that takes their goals tally to 61. Liverpool won 4-3 at home to Swansea and are now on 79 goals while Swansea are on 42. Manchester United are on 54 as they win 2-0 away to Crystal Palace. Palace picked up their 13th blank of the season. Tottenham lost 1-0 away to Norwich to poick up their 8th blank and it’s 13 for Aston Villa as they lost 1-0 away to Newcastle.
The three best teams to date in Golden Goals are Man City wth 100 goals followed by Rangers now on 91. Liverpool are third with 79 goals.
Crystal Palace are still our worst team to date as they failed to score any goals against Man Utd over the weekend. Palace remain on 22 goals.
We still have two past Golden Goals Champions in the top twenty-five and they are last seasons Champion, Alice Stubbs picked up four goals from her combination of Chelsea, Man City and Man UTD. Our other champion is Geoff Dockerill who won back in our 1994/95 Season. Geoff has Celtic, Man City and QPR. 

Tuesday Night Results

Last night we had a total of thirteen of our teams in action. All but one picked up some more goals for the season. The highest score that we had came from the English League One where Preston drew 3-3 at home against Rotherham. The three goals now takes their total to 58. Also in League One, Sheffield United picked up their 46th goal of the season as they win 1-0 away to Colchester. After a two game dry spell for goals, MK Dons won 2-1 away to Oldham and they are now on 61 goals. Swindon are now on 53 as they drew 1-1 at home to Crawley Town after a two game dry spell.

In League Two, Fleetwood Town picked up their 11th blank score sheet and now two in a row as they lost 4-0 at home to Plymouth. Southend lost 2-1 away to Northampton but picked up goal number 50. Portsmouth are on 38 as they win 1-0 at home to Accrington. Scunthorpe are on 52 goals as they drew 1-1 at home to Bristol Rovers. Rovers are now on 40 goals.
In Scotland, Celtic lost their very first legaue game of the season as Aberdeen beat them 2-1 away. Celtic are now on 71 goals while Aberdeen are on 53. Stenhousemuir drew 1-1 away to Airdrie and are now on 49 goals while Rangers continue to score as they win 2-0 away to Stranraer. Rangers are on 93 goals and look set to becoming our second team this season to score 100 goals. Rangers have now scored in all of their last thirty league /cup games.

FA CUP 5th Round News

Charlton won the fifth Round of the FA Cup game against Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 last night which takes their goals total to 38 for this season.
Charlton will play Sheffield United in the quarter-finals on Saturday 8th March

100 Goals for City


Congratulations to all the Manchester City fans in the world and to the twenty-seven people that have them in this season’s Golden Goals. City picked up their 100th goal at the weekend as they win 1-0 at home to Stoke with the goal coming in the 70th minute from Toure. The 100 goals, 69 have come from league games while the other 31 come from our two domestic cup competitions.
Manchester City are in their 20th Season with Golden Goals and they have now scored 100 or more goals in three of them. Their first was back in our 2001/02 Season with 124 goals and then again in our 2011/12 with 105 goals. Last season they picked up just 83. So how much more will City score this season as they face Sunderland in the Capital One Cup Final on Sunday.

More Results

Last night we had another four of our teams in action. In the Championship, Nottingham Forest drew 2-2 with Leicester City at home. Forest have now scored in all of their last seven games and they are now on a total of 66 goals. City are on 71 and they have scored in all of their last eighteen games.
In League One, Gillingham picked up their 7th blank score sheet of the season as they lost 1-0 at home to Sheffield United. United are now on 42 goals.
We have just one more of our teams to play this week and they are Bristol Rovers on Friday night. They are currently on a total of 37 goals and they are at home to Burton Albion.

Tuesday Night's results


Not a very good night from our teams in Golden Goals as out of the six teams that managed to play last night, only three picked up goals.
In the Championship, Wigan are now on 45 goals as they win 2-0 at home to Barnsley while Watford picked up their 10th blank score sheet as they drew 0-0 away to Yeovil.
In League One, Leyton Orient won 2-0 at home to Stevenage and are now on 73 goals and they become our fourth best team today. MK Dons drew 0-0 at home to Preston to pick up their 7th blank score sheet while Preston picked up their 11th of the season.
In League Two, Southend drew 1-1 against Hartlepool at home to pick up goal number 49.

WEEK TWENTY-EIGHT


He’s still there, Mike Adkins who has completed his fourth weekend at the top. Mike picked up six goals this week from his combination of Arsenal, Man City and Rangers.
Paul Hudson has moved back into second place and is now just one goal behind Mike. Paul has in his combination Manchester City, Rangers and Watford. Paul also picked up a total of 6 goals for the week.

Malcolm picked up just one goal from Portsmouth as his other two teams had no game this week. His teams are Charlton, Portsmouth and Swindon. Above him in 102 we have John Dove. John picked up five goals from his combination of Arsenal, Bolton and Doncaster.
Rangers still have that 100% scoring record as they have now stretched their total to twenty-eight games, as they win 2-0 away to Ayr.
We had the 5th Round of the FA Cup this weekend and we had nine of our Golden Goals teams in action here. Due to the bad weather that we are having in the UK at the moment, it could have been worse with no games at all. Still play they did. The good news is that five have made it through over the weekend.
They are Everton who won 3-1 at home to Swansea and Sheffield United who also won 3-1 at home to Nottingham Forest. Everton take their goals tally to 52 while Swansea hit goal number 39. Sheff Utd are now on 41 with Forest on 64. Arsenal are on 57 as they beat Liverpool 2-1. Liverpool are now on 75 goals. Man City are now just one goal sort of 100 goals this season as they beat Chelsea 2-0. City are now on 99 goals while Chelsea picked up their 6th blank score sheet of the season. Wigan are also through as they win 2-1 away to Cardiff. Wigan are on 43 goals.
The three best teams to date in Golden Goals are Man City wth 99 goals followed by Rangers now on 88. Liverpool are third with 75 goals.
Crystal Palace are still our worst team to date but they had no game over the whole week. Palace remain on 22 goals.

Weather now effecting games

As strong winds and plenty of rain hit the UK yesterday needless to say that some of our teams in Golden Goals failed to kick-off last night. But we did have five of our teams that did play.

Arsenal drew 0-0 at home to Mancester United and after a run of ten goal scoring games, last night they picked up their 4th blank of the season. United had a run of fourteen games before they picked up their 5th blank score sheet. Liverpool are now on 74 goals as they beat Fulham 3-2 away. Tottenham won 4-0 away to Newcastle to take thir goals tally to 43. Swansea picked up goal number 38 as they drew 1-1 away to Stoke.

WEEK TWENTY-SEVEN


Still at the top this week we have Mike Adkins who has completed his third weekend at the top. Mike picked up five goals this week from his combination of Arsenal, Man City and Rangers.
Chris Nunn has moved back into second place and is now just one goal behind Mike. Chris has in his combination Chelsea, Manchester City and Rangers. Chris picked up a total of 8 goals for the week.
In the 103 spot we still have Malcolm Cormack who has now been there for two weeks now, three over the season. Malcolm picked up a total of four goals for the week from Charlton, Portsmouth and Swindon. Above him in 102 we have John Dove. John picked up just three goals from his combination of Arsenal, Bolton and Doncaster.
Rangers still have that 100% scoring record as they have now streached their total to twenty-seven games, as they win 2-1 at home to Dunfermline in the Willimas Hill Scottish Cup 5th Round in midweek.
Liverpool picked up the highest score for Golden Goals as they win 5-1 at home to Arsenal. Liverpool take their goals total to 71 for this season while Arsenal hit goal number 55. Chelsea have moved back to the top of the English Premiership as they win 3-0 at home to Newcastle. Manchester City drew 0-0 away to Norwich to pick up their second blank of the week and number four over the season. Manchester United drew 2-2 with Fulham to take their goals tally to 52.
Leicester City are top in the Championship as they drew 2-2 at home to Watford. City are on 69 goals while Watford are on 54. Middlesbrough drew 0-0 at home to Blackburn to pick up blank score sheet number eight and now four games in a row.
In Scotland in the WILLIAM HILL SCOTTISH CUP 5th Round games, Celtic are iout as they lost 2-1 at home to Aberdeen. Celtic picked up goal number 65 while Aberdeen are now on 49. Stenhousemuir are also out as they lost 2-0 away to Alboin. That was Stenhousemuir’s 6th blank of the season.
The three best teams to date in Golden Goals are Man City wth 97 goals followed by Rangers now on 86. Liverpool are third with 71 goals. Would you of picked them at the start of this season? No-one in this seasons competition has? Peterborough are now fourth also on 70 goals.
Crystal Palace look set in becoming our ever lowest end of season goals total even though they won 3-1 at home to West Brom. Palace are now on 22 goals.
We have two past Golden Goals Champions in the top twenty-five and they are last seasons Champion, Alice Stubbs who picked up  total of six goals from her combination of Chelsea, Man City and Man UTD. Our other chanmpion is Mike Pepperrell who won back in our 2002/03 Season. Mike has Chelsea, Man City and Middlesbrough and picked up just four goals over last week.
Now since doing the last sheet we have had some more games and goals to add on. On Monday night QPR lost 1-0 away to Derby to pick up their 10th blank score sheet of the season.
Last night, Aston Villa drew 0-0 away to Cardiff to pick up blank score sheet number twelve and now two in a row. Chelsea picked up their 56th goal of the season as they drew 1-1 away to West Brom. Bolton picked up their 9th blank as they lost 1-0 at home to Burnley while Leeds lost 1-0 away to Brighton to pick up their 11th blank. Nottingham Forest are now on 63 goals as they win 3-0 away to Huddersfield and Wigan won 3-0 away to Sheff Wednesday and they take their goals tally to 41. It’s 55 goals for Watford as they win 1-0 at home to Birmingham who now have picked up their 12th blank of the season. Bristol City are also on 55 goals as they win 3-1 away to Leyton Orient. Orient are now on 70 goals. Bristol Rovers are on 37 as they win 1-0 at home to Cheltenham while Fleetwood Town are on 51 as they drew 1-1 away to Wycombe.

FA Cup News


In the FA CUP Fourth Round replay we had both of the teams that were in action last night. It was Nottingham Forest that have now progressed to the next round after they beat Preston 2-0 away.
Forest are now on 59 goals but a long way off their best end of season score with Golden Goals of 100 goals back in our 1988/89 Season. Preston have now picked up their 10th blank score sheet of the season and they have now scored just two goals in their last four games.

WEEK TWENTY-SIX


We had a good week for goals from our teams although they did slow down at the weekend. Still Mike Adkins completed his second weekend at the top and is not that far away too start to climb up our Champions table. Mike picked up eleven goals this week from his combination of Arsenal, Man City and Rangers.
Paul Hudson has moved back into second place and is now just two goals behind Mike. Paul has in his combination Man City, Rangers and watford.
Rangers still have that 100% scoring record as they have now streached their total to twenty-six games, as they win 2-1 at home to Brechin at the weekend.
Leeds United picked up the highest score for Golden Goals as they win 5-1at home to Huddersfield. Picking up their biggest win of the season, Leeds are now on 46 goals.
Arsenal are back on top of the English Premiership as they beat Crystal Palce 2-0 at home. Arsenal are on a total of 54 goals while Palace picked up their 12th blank of the season. Liverpool picked up their 66th goal of the season as they drew 1-1 away to West brom. Everton won 2-1 at home to Aston Villa to take their goals total to 49 and Villa up to 31. Manchester United lost 2-1 away to Stoke and are now on 50 goals. This could be their lowest score ever for Manchester United with Golden Goals. Their lowest end of season goals total was just 61 goals back in our 1986/87 Season. Tottenham picked up goal number 38 as they drew 1-1 away to Hull.
The three best teams to date in Golden Goals are Man City wth 97 goals followed by Rangers on 82. Peterborough are third with 68 goals. Would you of picked them at the start of this season? No one in this seasons competition has. Leyton Orient are fourth also on 68 goals.
Crystal Palace look set in becoming our ever lowest end of season goals total. At the present time it is held by three of our past teams all on a total of just 36 goals. This record is held by Derby in 1987/88, Newcastle in the following season of 1988/89 and Wolves in our 2009/10 Season. Palace at the moment are on just 19 goals.
Last night we had the FA CUP Fourth Round replay for Sheffield United against Fulham. The good news is that we have another team through to the next round as United won in extra time 1-0. United are now on 36 goals. In League One, Bristol City picked up goal number 53 as they lost 2-1 at home to Coventry. Gillingham lost 3-1 away to Stevenage but picked up their 41st goal of the season.

No Goals for City

There were no goals for Manchester City last night as they lost 1-0 at home to Chelsea. City still after being the first team to pick up 100 goals in Golden Goals this season and that could all change this weekend as they play Norwich away. That now means that City have picked up their 3rd blank score sheet of the season and a goal run of eighteen games has finally came to the end.
Chelsea picked up goal number 51 and remain in third place in the league behind Arsenal and Manchester City.
