WEEK FORTY

Well we are into extra time here at Golden Goals and it look’s likely that Paul Davey will be our next Golden Goals Champion as he remains top again this weekend after his combinations of  teams picked him up a total of 6 goals. Paul has in his combination  Man City, Rangers and Wolves and is now five goals clear of second place, Paul Hudson.
Paul has stayed in second place after collecting a total of  6 goals for the week his combination is  Man City, Rangers and Watford. Both of them have finished their season.

In the 103 spot we still have Malcolm Cormack who has now been there for fifteen weeks, and now sixteen over the season. Malcolm did not pick up any goals this week from his teams of Charlton, Portsmouth and Swindon as they have finished all of  their games. Above him in 102 is still Jim Howard as his teams  havealso finished for the season.
In The Premiership, It was all down to the very last game of the season to find out who would be this season’s Champions.  And as you all know by now that it was MAN CITY  that stayed on top as they won 2-0 at home against West Ham. That took City’s impressive goals tally to 137 goals which beats Peterborough’s biggest score of 129 goals back in our 2010/11 Season by eight goals. City have also scored in all of their last sixteen games. LIVERPOOL finished second in the table as they win 2-1 to Newcastle after going down 1-0 at half  time. Liverpool finished on a total of 110 goals. CHELSEA came in at number three as they win 2-1 away to Cardiff also going down 1-0 at half  time. Chelsea finished on a total of 79 goals. Fourth was ARSENAL who won 2-0 away to Norwich to take their goals tally to 82 goals. EVERTON won 2-0 away to Hull and finished on 77 goals. TOTTENHAM finished on a high as they win 3-0 at home to ASTON VILLA. Tottenham finished on a total of  62 goals while no goals all week gave Villa blank number seventeen. MAN UTD have had a very bad season and they finished on a total of just 75 goals even though they drew1-1 away to Southampton after being1-0 down by half time. CRYSTAL PALACE drew their last game 2-2 away to Fulham and finished on a total of 37 goals. SWANSEA finished on 60 goals as they win 3-1 away to Sunderland.
League One Play - Off’s We had three of the four teams in this league’s 1st leg play-off’s and they are all still in with a chance of winning after they all drew their games. PETERBOROUGH drew 1-1 at home to LEYTON ORIENT and that takes their goals total to 93. Orient are on 95. PRESTON are on 85 goals as they drew 1-1 at home to Rotherham.
League Two Play - Off’s In this one we have just two teams. SOUTHEND failed to score against Burton in their first leg game and so they picked up their 11th blank of the season after they lost 1-0 away.  FLEETWOODS game was cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch.
In the Scottish Leagues, CELTIC finished on a total of 110 goals as they win 3-1 at  home against Dundee Utd while ABERDEEN lost their last game 1-0 at home to Motherwell to pick up blank number eight for the season. In the Scottish Championship 2nd leg play-off, QUEEN OF THE SOUTH won their first game but lost the second leg 3-1 away to Falkirk after extra time and 4-3 on agg.
The three best teams to date in Golden Goals are Man City wth 137 goals followed by Rangers on 120. Celtic Hve moved into third place with 110 goals and in fourth place on 110 goals we now have Liverpool.
Crystal Palace will be our worst team of the season as they finished with a total of just 37 goals out of a total of 41 league/cup games.
