Chelsea in Capital one Final

Last night we had eight of our teams in action and two of them were playing in the Capital one Cup Semi-finals 2nd leg. They were CHELSEA and LIVERPOOL. Chelsea who were dumped out of the FA Cup by Bradford at the weekend, had drawn the first leg 1-1 with Liverpool. But the good news is that they won the 2nd leg 1-0 at home to win 2-1 on aggregate. Chelsea are now on 65 goals and a place in the Capital One Final. Liverpool picked up their 7th blank of the season and have now failed to score in their last two games.

In the Championship, DERBY won 2-0 at home against Blackburn and that now gives them a total of 64 goals while READING picked up their 11th blank of the season as they drew 0-0 away to Millwall. ROTHERHAM picked up their highest score of the season as they win 4-2 at home against Bolton. Rotherham, who have not had a great season for goals, are now on 27 goals.

Week Twenty-Five and the FA Cup

This weekends average score boomed down to just 2 goals as our top teams go out of the FA Cup this weekend. We had a nine teams that had no game and another eleven teams that failed to score any.
The highest score that we had was seven goals from the Championship and NOT the FA Cup Round as WATFORD picked up their highest score of the season with a 7-2 home win over Blackpool.  Watford are now on a total of 58 goals and they have now scored 12 goals in their last two games. Watford’s name is now in the book for just one of our highest scorers of the season.
Watford have a total of three votes this season and they are now in their 20th season with Golden Goals. Having started in  our very first season back in 1983/84, Watford wasour sizth most voted team and finished on a total of 86 goals. Their highest score to date came in the following season with 102 goals. This will not be their lowest score as they only netted 41 goals back in our 2006/07 Season. Last season they finished on 86 goals. Over the seasons they have scored a total of 1,356 goals which gives them an average of 67 goals per season to date.

FA CUP Fourth Round
Well what a fourth round we had here with our Golden Goals teams.as some of the biggest names in football fall out of the cup. We had a total of fourteen of our teams in action and the start of the disasters for the top teams is when Manchester United failed to beat Cambridge on Friday night.
We only have had four teams to make it through to the next round. READING won 2-1 away to CARDIFF to take their goals tally to 38 while Cardiff picked up goal number 45. DERBY are also through as they win 2-0 at home to Chesterfield. Derby are now on 62 goals. CRYSTAL PALACE are on 37 goals as they win 3-2 away to Southampton. Our last team through are ARSENAL as they win 3-2 away to Brighton after they went 2-0 up by half time. Arsenal are now on 45 goals.

BRISTOL CITY are out as they lsot 1-0 at home to West Ham and they picked up their 5th blank score sheet.

Preston picked up goal number 50 while United picked up gaol 46 after a two game dry spell. FULHAM picked up their 11th blank score sheet as they drew 0-0 away to Sunderland.

CHAMPIONSHIP
We had just five of our teams in action here and we already know about one of them Watford who are now in sixth place in the league. NORWICH are on 53 goals but lost 2-1 at home to Brentford. WIGAN lost 1-0 at home to Huddersfield and picked up their 11th blank of the season. WOLVES drew 0-0 at home to CHARLTON. Wolves picked up their 8th blank score sheet while Charlton picked up their 11th and now three games in a row. They have scored just one goal in their last five games.

LEYTON ORIENT picked up their 11th blank of the season as they lost 2-0 away to Colchester while our best team still at the moment is MK DONS. They won 2-0 at home to BARNSLEY. The Dons are now on 67 goals and could beat their best score with Golden Goals of 105goals back in 2011/12. Barnsley picked up their 9th blankand now two games in a row. PETERBOROUGH are now on 35 goals as they win 2-1 away to Notts County. COVENTRY drew 0-0 away to Yeovil and picked up their 9th blank of the season.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In Scotland only four of our five teams were in action again over the weekend. CELTIC won 1-0 away to Ross County and picked up goal number 56. THE WORST THREE TEAMS ARE…

QPR (23) ROTHERHAM (23) WIGAN (27) Total of 73 goals.

QPR are still our worst team this weekend as they had no game over the past week. Rangers have played a total of 24 games and they have picked up a total of ten blank score sheets.

ROTHERHAM have picked up the most number of  blank score sheets in our 32nd season.  After a total of 29 games played, Rotherham have picked up twenty-three goals and  had a total of 13 blank score sheets to date.

We have had three teams that have now picked up the highest score this season. First MANCHESTER CITY won their Capital One Cup third round tie against Sheffield Wednesday 7-0 at home.  MK DONS won 7-0 at home to Oldham in the league. Now WATFORD have won 7-2 at home to Blackpool in the league.

Manchester City had a record breaking end of season score of 137 goals from last season and I think that that score will not be beaten this season. In Week twenty-five last season, City scored three goals in midweek and another four goals at the weekend. Their goals tally has now risen to 92 goals after thirty games played. They have had two blank score sheet’s and their highest score was seven goals against Norwich in the league.
This season they had no midweek game once again and they failed to score at the weekend. So City are still on a total of 54 goals this weekend. But they have now had a total of four blank score sheet after twenty-six games played. They are now 38 goals behind last seasons record run. They are away to Chelsea at the Weekend.
