It’s Week Nineteen of Season 34 and we have
now had a total of twenty-four winners this season as we had two players to share
the £6 cash prize money this weekend. Our winner who won on a score of 11 goals
and they are PETER PORTER and SCOTT THOMSON (1).
Peter is one of our very long serving player of Golden
Goals where he started playing in the competition way back in the
1989/90 Season. He then finished in 40th place out of 44 on a total
of 182 goals. Last season Peter finished in 39th place on 260 goals.
The last time that Peter finished in the winning frame was back in our 2009/10
Season in 11th place on 296 goals.
This season
Peter has not had a single blank weekend score sheet and this week is his
personal best score from his teams. The highest that he has been is 28th
place in week thirteen.
Scott has won with his first combination and also with his
personal best weekend score too. Scott started in the 2006/07 Season where he finished
in the winning frame in 17th place on 261 goals. Last season his
second combi finished in 61st place on 251 goals while his first
finished in 74th place on 243 goals. This season Scott has picked up
just one blank weekend score sheet and 32nd is his best position so

MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Over half
of you managed to pick up some goals this week with five players picking up the
highest score with six goals each. They are Phil Francksen, Robert Freeman, Darly Nicholls, Geoff Pain and Terry Warwick. All five
had a part combination of Brighton and Celtic.
So this week
we see a major change for the race for the cash this weekend as DARYL NICHOLLS jumps into the lead moving up from fourth place last week with 64 goals.
In joint second place both on 62 goals we have GRANT PHILLIPS up from four and DAVID SMITHERS who was our leader last
weekend. In third place we have MANGO
down from two with 61 goals while in fourth place we have STEPTOE & SON up from sixth place and CHRIS SETFORD down from three both with a total of 59 goals. In
fifth place back in is DANIEL GOODSON
with 58 goals while PETER GASPARELLI
and TONY GUY (2) both move down from
five to sixth place with 57 goals.
The good news this
weekend is that we now have a total of twenty-nine players that are now over
the 50 goals mark.
WEEKEND
RESULTS
We once
again had a crazy weekend for goals this weekend. The average score for the third
weekend running stayed at 5 goals. We had four of our teams with no game over
the weekend and another twelve teams that failed to score any goals.
The highest
score that we had over the weekend came from two of our teams PETERBOROUGH and STENHOUSEMUIR with five goals each.
Peterborough
from the English League One took their goals tally to 41 as they beat
Chesterfield 5-2 at home. The result took them up to sixth place in the league.
Stenhousemuir from the Scottish League One won their third league game of the
season by beating Airdrie 5-0 away. With
their biggest win of the season, Stenhousemuir have taken their goals total to 28
but remain rock bottom in that league.
PREMIERSHIP
CHELSEA are still on top of the premiership
this weekend as they win just 1-0 at home against West Brom. Chelsea are on a
total of 41 goals and they are still three points clear of ARSENAL who won 3-1 at home to STOKE.
Arsenal are now on a total of 42 while Stoke picked up their 22nd
goal of the season. LIVERPOOL are still in third place after they drew
2-2 at home to WEST HAM. Liverpool are on a total of 49 goals while West
Ham are now on 21. MANCHESTER CITY lost their third league game of the
season to last season’s champions LEICESTER CITY. Leicester won 4-2 at home to Manchester
City and with their highest result of the season, Leicester are now on a total
of 23 goals while Man City are now on 34 goals. TOTTENHAM have remained
in fifth place once again this weekend after they lost 1-0 away to MANCHESTER
UNITED. As Tottenham picked up their second blank of the season, United hit
goal number 28 and are three points behind them in sixth place. It’s 25 goals
for BOURNEMOUTH as they lost 3-2 away to Burnley while EVERTON lost
3-2 away to Watford and that now gives them a total of 23 goals. SOUTHAMPTON
picked up their 19th goal of the season as they win 1-0 at home
to Middlesbrough.
CHAMPIONSHIP
We have four of the top six here this weekend with NEWCASTLE
remaining on top and a point clear as they win 4-0 at home to Birmingham.
Newcastle are now on a total of 52 goals. Brighton are back down to second
place with DERBY in fifth place after they won 3-0 at home to Nottingham
Forest. That now takes Derby’s goals tally to 22. After their defeat on Friday
night, Leeds United have dropped down to sixth place. ASTON VILLA picked
up goal number 23 as they win 1-0 at home to Wigan. NORWICH lost 2-1
away to Barnsley to pick up their 45th goal of the season. BRENTFORD
are on 26 goals. CARDIFF drew their game 1-1 away to Ipswich and that
takes their goal tally up to 19. PRESTON are on 33 goals as they win 3-2
at home to Blackburn. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY lost 2-1 away to Reading but
that was their 24th goal of the season. QUEENS PARK RANGERS
picked up their sixth blank score sheet as they lost 1-0 away to Rotherham.
Rangers have now netted just one goal in their last three games. WOLVES
drew 4-4 at home to Fulham to take their goals tally to 29 with their biggest
result of the season.
LEAGUE ONE
We have four of the top six teams here with SCUNTHORPE
on top as they lost 3-2 away to Rochdale. Scunthorpe are now on a total of 47
goals and they have scored in all of their last eight games. SHEFFIELD
UNITED are in second place as they win 4-0 at home to Swindon. United are
now on a total of 47 goals. BRADFORD are in fourth place after they drew 0-0 at home to CHARLTON.
Both Bradford and Charlton picked up
their seventh blank of the season and both have now failed to score in their
last two games. Peterborough are in sixth place with SOUTHEND not that
far behind as they win 3-1 at home to Coventry. That takes their goals tally to
30. BRISTOL ROVERS are on 42 as they won 4-2 at home to Bury. WALSALL
lost 2-1 away to Fleetwood and that gives them a total of 24 goals while MILLWALL
picked up their fourth blank of the season after they lost 1-0 at home to
Shrewsbury. It’s 34 goals for MK DONS as they win 1-0 at home to AFC Wimbledon. OLDHAM picked up more goals at the weekend
as they drew 1-1 away to Oxford. Oldham are now on 18 goals. PORT VALE
lost 3-2 at home to Northampton and that puts them on a total of 32 goals.
LEAGUE TWO
We have four of the top seven in this league with PLYMOUTH
going back on top after they won 2-0 at home to DONCASTER who have now
dropped down to third place. Plymouth are now on 33 goals while Doncaster after
a goal run of twenty-one games picked up
their very first blank of the season. PORTSMOUTH are now in fourth place
as they win 1-0 away to Grimsby. Portsmouth are on 36 goals and they have
scored in all of their last thirteen games. In fifth place is LUTON but
they drew 1-1 at home against Carlisle. Luton picked up goal number 41. LEYTON
ORIENT beat ACCRINGTON STANLEY 1-0 at home and they are on 24 goals
as Accrington picked up their eighth blank of the season and now just four
goals in their last six games. COLCHESTER picked up their seventh
blank score sheet as they drew 0-0 away to Mansfield. YEOVIL lost 1-0 at home to
Barnet and that was their seventh blank of the season.
SCOTTISH
RESULTS
In the Scottish
Premiership Celtic remained top after their win on Friday night with RANGERS still in second place as they
won 2-0 at home to Hearts. Rangers areon a total of 43 goals. ABERDEEN are now in third place after
they drew 0-0 at home against St
JOHNSTONE. That was Aberdeen’s sixth blank while Johnstone picked up their
fourth. KILMARNOCK picked up their
eighth blank score sheet as they drew 0-0 away to Motherwell.
In the Lower
leagues FALKIRK won 2-1 away to
Morton and that now gives them a total of 28 goals while top of the table HIBERNIAN won 2-0 at home to Dumbarton.
Hibs are now on a total of 29 goals. PETERHEAD
drew 1-1 at home to Alloa to pick up goal number 28.

team on form is still CELTIC after they have scored in all of their eighteen League
and Cup games played and netting a total of 54 goals which now gives them an
average score of three goals per game.
Our worst
teams is OLDHAM this weekend as they have picked up a total of thirteenth
blank score sheets out of twenty-four games played.
Our highest
goal scorers in our 34th Season are LUTON
after they won 6-2 at home to non-league Solihull Moors in the FA CUP 2nd Round in week
eighteen. LIVERPOOL winning 6-1 at home against Watford in the league in week
fourteen and SHEFFIELD UNITED winning
6-0 at home to LEYTON ORIENT in the
1st Round of the FA Cup also
in week fourteen. BOURNEMOUTH after their 6-1 home win against Hull in the
league in week eleven. CELTIC with their 6-1 home League win against Kilmarnock from week
eight. NEWCASTLE winning 6-0 away to
Q. P. R in the league in week seven and 6-1 away to Preston in the EFL
League Cup 4th Round in week thirteen. NORWICH by winning 6-1 at home
to Coventry in the EFL League Cup 2nd Round in week four.
DANIEL GOODSON is now in his sixth weekend at the top and now seven weeks
over the season. His combination picked him up ten goals over the week with four
coming from midweek from Celtic and at the weekend a total of six goals from
from Liverpool two and Newcastle four Celtic had no game over the weekend. Dan has
been caught up by June Tighe as she moves back
into second place after picking up a total of 12 goals for the week. Dan
is just two goals clear of June. Her teams
are once again Celtic, Newcastle and Sheffield United.
At the other end at 136 we still
have SANDRA NICHOLLS as her
combination picked her up a total of seven goals over the weekend. Sandra is
now in her eighth weekend at the bottom over the season and now five weekends
in a row. Sandra’s teams are Everton, Leicester City and Manchester United and
she has caught up with 135 and is now three goals behind.
