NEWCASTLE played their second game of the week and after being knocked out of the
League cup by Hull on penalties. They then found themselves away to Nottingham
Forest in the Championship and they
lost that one 2-1 after going a goal up in the first half. The result could
have been much worse as Forest missed two penalties. Although they are still
top of the league, Brighton in second place have a game in hand and just two
points behind them. Newcastle are now on a total of 48 goals.
In the Scottish Championship, HIBERNIAN
lost 1-0 away to Dundee United to pick up their third blank score sheet of the
season.
