English Sky Bet EFL Cup First Round

We had the first round of the Sky Bet EFL League Cup played this week and we had 31 of our English teams playing in this round. But the bad news is that about 50% of them have failed to make it through to the next round.
ACCRINGTON STANLEY drew their games against BRADFORD 0-0 at home. Now there are no replays this season so it went to penalties, which do not count in this competition and thank god for that as Accrington won 11-10 on penalties. Accrington picked up their first blank of the season while Bradford have still yet to score in both of their games played this season.
COLCHESTER also picked up their first blank score sheet as they lost 4-0 away to BRIGHTON. Brighton picked up their first goals of the season after they failed to score in their first league match. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY go out as they lost 2-1 away to Cambridge but It did give them goals number two. PORT VALE also lost on the same score line 2-1 with Carlisle away. Port vale score their first goal of the new season. Two games and two blank score sheets for CHARLTON as they are now out of the cup as they lost just 1-0 away to Cheltenham. PORTSMOUTH lost 3-2 away to Coventry and that now gives them three goals in two games. DONCASTER picked up their third goal as they lost 2-1 at home to Nottingham Forest. BRENTFORD picked up their first blank of the season as they lost 1-0 away to Exeter. LEYTON ORIENT are out as they lost 3-2 at home to Fulham. Orient are now on three goals.  MK DONS have started well as they picked up their fourth goal as they win 3-2 away to Newport. OLDHAM picked up their first goals of the season and a place in the next round as they win 2-1 at home to Wigan. PETERBOROUGH are doing very well with six goals in two games as they win 3-2 at home to Wimbledon. PRESTON are through as they win just 1-0 at home to Hartlepool to get their first goal of the season. It’s five for SCUNTHORPE as they win 2-0 at home to Notts County. SHEFFIELD UNITED picked up their first goal of the season but are out of the cup as they lost 2-1 at home to Crewe. GILLINGHAM are also on six goals as they win 3-1 away to SOUTHEND who picked up their second goal of the season. YEOVIL are in the next round as they won 2-0 away to WALSALL who picked up their first blank score sheet. Yeovil are now on four goals. WOLVES are also on four and into the next round as they win 2-1 at home to Crawley. After getting three goals in their first league game, MILLWALL picked up another four as they win 4-0 away to Barnet. PLYMOUTH are out as they go down 2-0 away to Reading which is now two blanks in two games.
Our second team to win on penalties was LEEDS UNITED. They drew 2-2 away to Fleetwood to pick up their first goals of the season. They finally won 5-4 on penalties which do not count in Golden Goals. LUTON beat troubled ASTON VILLA 3-1 to take their goals tally to six while Villa picked up their very first goal of the season and go out in the first round. QUEENS PARK RANGERS drew 2-2 at home to Swindon but then won 4-2 on penalties. Rangers are now on a total of five goals. BRISTOL ROVERS picked up goal number two as they win 1-0 at home to CARDIFF who have failed to score yet this season.
