Bank Holiday Monday Results

We had forty-one of our Golden Goals teams in action on Bank Holiday Monday and out of them eighteen failed to score any goals. The highest score that we had was four goals and they came from CHARLTON in the English League One by beating BRISTOL ROVERS 4-1 at home. Charlton are now on a total of 37 goals while Rovers picked up their 49th goal of the season.

In the English Premiership LIVERPOOL are still in second place as they drew 2-2 away to Sunderland. Liverpool are now on a total of 60 goals and they have now scored in all of their last nine games. MANCHESTER CITY are in third place as they win 2-1 at home to Burnley. City are now on a total of 43 goals. MANCHESTER UNITED are in sixth place and have a total of 39 goals as they win 2-0 away to WEST HAM who have now picked up their second blank score sheet in a row and now four over the season to date. EVERTON are in seventh place as they win 3-0 at home to SOUTHAMPTON. Everton are now on 32 goals while Southampton picked up their seventh blank of the season. LEICESTER CITY picked up their sixth blank score sheet after they drew 0-0 away to Middlesbrough.

In the Championship BRIGHTON have moved up to the top as they win 2-1 away to Fulham and they are now on a total of 49 goals. NEWCASTLE moved down to second place as they lost 1-0 away to Blackburn to pick up their fifth blank of the season. LEEDS UNITED are still in fifth place as they win 3-0 at home to Rotherham to take their goals tally up to 40. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY picked up their fourth blank score sheet and remained in sixth place after they drew 0-0 at home to WOLVES who picked up their ninth blank of the season.
It’s 32 goals for BRENTFORD as they win 3-1 away to Birmingham. PRESTON won 1-0 away to Burton and that was their 39th goal of the season. CARDIFF are on 27 goals as they win 1-0 at home to ASTON VILLA and that was their seventh blank of the season. It’s 51 goals for NORWICH as they win 3-0 at home to DERBY who picked up their eleventh blank and now two games in a row. QUEENS PARK RANGERS won 2-1 at home to Ipswich and they are now on 29 goals.

In League One SHEFFIELD UNITED are still top after they win 3-1 away to Bury. United are now on 55 goals. SCUNTHORPE are third as they drew 1-1 at home to PETERBOROUGH to pick up goal number 52 and 48 for Borough. MILLWALL are on 52 goals as they drew 2-2 away to AFC Wimbledon. MK DONS picked up their ninth blank score sheet as they drew 0-0 away to Chesterfield. GILLINGHAM lost 1-0 at home to Oxford and that was their sixth blank of the season. BRADFORD are on 32 goals as they win 2-1 away to Northampton.  OLDHAM picked up another blank score sheet and that was number seventeen for them as they drew 0-0 at home to PORT VALE who picked up their ninth. SOUTHEND picked up their eighth blank score sheet as they drew 0-0 away to Swindon. WALSALL lost 2-0 at home to Rochdale and that was their ninth blank and now two in a row.

In League Two, DONCASTER have gone back on top as they win 1-0 at home to Stevenage. Doncaster are now on a total of 48 goals. PLYMOUTH have moved down to second place as they lost 1-0 away to Barnet. PORTSMOUTH are in fourth place as they win 1-0 at home to LUTON. Portsmouth are now on 40 goals while Luton picked up their sixth blank score sheet. ACCRINGTON are on 29 goals as they drew 2-2 at home to Hartlepool. It’s 37 for COLCHESTER as they win 2-0 at home to Cheltenham. YEOVIL picked up their tenth blank score sheet and now three games in a row as they lost 2-0 away to Crawley. LEYTON ORIENT lost 4-0 away to Exeter and that was their tenth blank of the season.

We had just one Scottish result from their league one as PETERHEAD win 1-0 away to Brechin to pick up goal number 29.
