Week Twenty-Eight

It’s Week Twenty-eight of Season 34 and we had our sixth Rollover this season for £12 and it was won on a total of 13 goals. Our winners for his second win of the season is NICK HORTON.
Nick was one of the very lucky players to have Celtic as part of their combination this weekend as they picked up a total of six goals. Nick last won some cash back in week eighteen and since then he has remained in the top twenty in the winning frame. Nick has still had just three blank score sheets and he has picked up a total of fifteen goals this week. His top team, with 68 other players, is Celtic. His teams are once again

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Only twenty-two of you managed to pick up some more goals this week with the highest score that we had was three goals and we had three players that reached that score. They are CLIFF BAMBRIDGE, SANDRA NICHOLLS and EMMA SAWYER. 
There was just a small change in the race for the cash this week as we DARYL NICHOLLS remains in the lead with a total of 92 goals which means he still needs just eight goals to win the £80 cash. Still six goals behind him in second place we still have  DANIEL GOODSON and GRANT PHILLIPS who has moved up from fourth place both are on a total of 86 goals. In third place we have MANGO on a total of 85 goals. We still have STALKY (2) on a total of 84 goals in fourth place. In fifth place is ANDY EYLES on 83 goals while CHRIS SETFORD remains in six place this week on 82 goals. 

WEEKEND RESULTS
We had another high scoring weekend for goals this week but again it was not reflected in the average score as that came in at 6 goals each for the second weekend running. We had four of our teams without a game over the weekend with another fourteen teams that failed to score any goals.
The highest score over the weekend came from the Scottish WILLIAM HILL CUP fifth round where CELTIC won 6-0 at home to Inverness CT. Celtic are now on a total of 85 goals.
Celtic are just one of four teams that have a 100% appearance in Golden Goals and in our first season they were our second most voted Scottish team and they finished on a total of 116 goals. Their highest score stands at 122 goals scored in the 2000/01 Season and their lowest was in 1989/90 with just 52 goals. Last season they made history with their sixth consecutive season of 100 goals or more as they finished on a total of 108 goals. They have netted a total of 3254 goals over the seasons which gives them an average score of 95 goals per season to date. They have now scored in all of their thirty league and cup games.

PREMIERSHIP
CHELSEA are now ten points in front of Tottenham and it could have been more as they drew 1-1 away to Burnley after going a goal up in six minutes. Chelsea are now on a total of 68 goals. TOTTENHAM are still in second place after they lost 2-0 away to LIVERPOOL. Tottenham picked up their fourth blank of the season and now just one goal in their last three games. Liverpool have moved up to fourth place and they now have a total of 68 goals. ARSENAL won 2-0 at home to Hull to take their goals tally to 67 and they have now scored in all of their last fourteen games. Arsenal move up to third place after their win. Manchester City have moved down to fifth place as they had now game this week.
MANCHESTER UNITED are on 57 goals as they win 2-0 at home to Watford. United are still in sixth place. EVERTON are still in seventh place after they drew 0-0 away to Middlesbrough. That was Everton’s sixth blank of the season.
STOKE picked up their 35th goal of the season as they win 1-0 at home to Crystal palace. SOUTHAMPTON picked up their biggest win of the season as they win 4-0 away to Sunderland which takes their goals total to 38. LEICESTER CITY lost 2-0 away to Swansea to pick up their  eleventh blank score sheet and now they have scored three goals in their last four games. It’s 38 goals for WEST HAM as they drew 2-2 at home to West Brom.

CHAMPIONSHIP
We have the top two teams here with NEWCASTLE on top after they won 1-0 away to WOLVES. Newcastle are now on a total of 73 goals while Wolves picked up their tenth blank of the season. BRIGHTON are still a point behind Newcastle as they win 4-1 at home to Burton Albion. Brighton take their goals tally to 63. In the play-off zone, we still have two teams with LEEDS UNITED still in fifth place after they lost 2-0 at home to CARDIFF. As Leeds pick up their ninth blank of the season, Cardiff take their goals tally to 37. Sheffield Wednesday have remained in sixth place after their win on Friday.
Meanwhile NORWICH are still just outside the zone after they won 5-1 at home against Nottingham Forest. Norwich are now on a total of 67 goals. DERBY drew 3-3 at home to Bristol City to give them a total of 40 goals while ASTON VILLA lost 1-0 at home to Ipswich to pick up their eleventh blank of the season and now just three goals in their last seven games played. PRESTON are now on a total of 49 goals as they win 4-2 at home to BRENTFORD. Brentford are now on a total of 47 goals. QUEENS PARK RANGERS lost 2-1 at home to Huddersfield but picked up goal number 36.

LEAGUE ONE
We still have the top two teams here with SHEFFIELD UNITED on top after they won 1-0 away to PETERBOROUGH. United are now on a total of 67 goals while Borough picked up their eighth blank score sheet. SCUNTHORPE have remained in second place after they lost again but 1-0 at home to Shrewsbury. Scunthorpe picked up their fourth blank of the season. In the Play-off zone we have BRADFORD who are still in fifth place after they drew 1-1 away to BRISTOL ROVERS. Bradford are now on a total of 40 goals while Rovers are now on 58. MILLWALL have moved into sixth place after they won 1-0 at home to SOUTHEND. Millwall are now on 60 goals while Southend picked up their ninth blank of the season. Meanwhile CHARLTON drew 1-1 away to AFC Wimbledon and they are now on 41 goals. WALSALL are now on 39 goals but lost 4-1 away to Bolton. GILLINGHAM are on 48 goals as they drew 1-1 at home to PORT VALE who are now on 38 goals. OLDHAM are now fifth from bottom as they won their biggest game of the season 3-2 at home to bottom of the table Coventry. Oldham are on 26 goals. MK DONS lost 1-0 away to Oxford to pick up their eleventh blank of the season.

LEAGUE TWO
We also have the top two teams here again this weekend with Doncaster still on top after they drew 0-0 on Friday night. In second place is still PLYMOUTH after they won 3-0 at home to Exeter. Plymouth are now on 51 goals and just three points behind Doncaster. In the play-off zone LUTON are up to fourth place as they win 2-1 at home to Crawley. Luton are now on a total of 57 goals. PORTSMOUTH have moved down to sixth place after they won 2-0 at home to ACCRINGTON STANLEY. Portsmouth after a two game dry spell for goals are now on 45 goals. Accrington picked up their thirteenth blank and now three goals in their last five games. Meanwhile it’s 45 goals for COLCHESTER as they win 2-1 at home to Barnet. YEOVIL are on 37 goals as they drew 1-1 at home to LEYTON ORIENT.  Orient are now on 32 goals.

SCOTTISH RESULTS
In the WILLIAM HILL CUP Fifth Round we had six of our Scottish teams in action and the good news here is that three have made it through to the next round with another two team in replay’s.
The ones that have made it through are Celtic as we already know after their big win but their rivals RANGERS have also gone through. They won 2-1 at home to Morton. Rangers are now on just 56 goals. ABERDEEN are through as they win
1-0 away to Ross County. Aberdeen are now on 50 goals. St JOHNSTONE go out after they lost 1-0 at home to Partick. That was their seventh blank of the season. HIBERNIAN will be in a replay after they drew 0-0 away to Hearts to pick up their fourth blank of the season and so will KILMARNOCK . They drew 1-1 away to Dundee and that was goal number 26 for them.
In the Championship FALKIRK are still in third place as they win 3-0 at home to Dundee United and they are now on 42 goals. In League One, PETERHEAD drew 1-1 at home to Albion and that goal takes their goals total to 38 goals. STENHOUSEMUIR are back at the foot of the table after they lost 2-0 at home to Queens Park. That was their ninth blank of the season.

Our Best team on form is still CELTIC after they have scored in all of their thirty League and Cup games played and netting a total of 85 goals which still gives them an average score of two goals per game.

Our worst teams is  OLDHAM  this weekend as they have picked up a total of nineteen blank score sheets out of thirty-five games played.

Our highest goal scorers in our 34th Season are  HIBERNIAN after they won 8-1 away to non-league team Bonnyrigg Ross in the Fourth Round of the Scottish WILLIAM HILL CUP in Week Twenty-Five.

STEPHEN STUBBS remains in first place for the second weekend running as his combination picks him up a total of eight goals all coming from the weekend. The goals came from Celtic 6, Chelsea 1 and Newcastle 1. Daniel Goodson has moved back up to number two on goal difference as he picks up nine goals.

At the other end at that dreaded number 136 we still have KATHY SOMERVILLE as her combination picked her up a total of four goals for the week. Kathy is now in her seventh weekend at the bottom and now thirteen weeks over the season. Kathy’s teams are Oldham, Tottenham and Yeovil.
