Week Thirty-Four

In Week Thirty-Four of the competition we are heading for our eighth Rollover of the Season next weekend worth £12 in cash. With only thirty-five players picking up any goals this weekend it was JOHN WOOD (Ziggy) team that picked up the most with seven goals. They came from Accrington Stanley 2 and Burton Albion 5. His third team Peterhead who failed to score any goals in their game.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Only two of you managed to pick up some goals in midweek this week and they were MIKE HARRINGTON and GRAHAM WARMAN with one goal each. This week we have not added any new players name to the list with 50 or more midweek goals and this week and we remain with a total of 125 that have reached that mark.
So once again we still have GRAHAM HARRIS at the top who still needs just four goals to win the cash. Graham has Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom and a total of 96 goals. In second place with 88 goals we have KELLIE STRATTON and JUNE TIGHE. In third place we have JOHN DAVIES with a total of 87 goals. In fourth place we have DANNY HARRINGTON on a total of 86 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS
We only had twenty-five of our teams in action over weekend with six of them failing to score any goals. We had thirty-eight teams that had no game. So the weekends average score fell to a flat zero.
The highest score that we had came from the English League One where BURTON ALBION won 5-2 at home against ACCRINGTON STANLEY. With their biggest win of the season, Burton have taken their goals tally up to 63 goals which is now a record for them with Golden Goals. Accrington are now on 46 goals.
Burton Albion are our 109th voted English team to join our competition. They are in their third season with us and they started with us in the 2015/16 Season and scored a total of 59 goals which was their record end of season score as in their second season of 2017/18, they finished on a total of 43. So over the three seasons to date, they have scored a total of 165 goals which gives them an average score of 55 goals per season. They have just one vote this season and they have picked up a total of twelve blank score sheets to date.

We are still doing well here with LUTON still on top after they won 4-0 at home against Doncaster. Luton are now on a total of 79 goals. Our biggest result in our 36th Season comes from MANCHESTER CITY as they win 9-0 at home against league one BURTON ALBION in the Carabao/League Cup semi-final first leg tie in Week Twenty-Four.

BOB SAWYER is back at the number one this weekend which is his second weekend for this season. Bob picked up four goals at the weekend from Luton. His other teams are Celtic and Manchester City who had no games this week. Bob has moved up our Champions League to 32nd place by beating our joint 1997/98 Champions Mike Harrington and David Salmon who finished on 276 goals. Kellie has moved back down to second place after none of her teams were in action this week and she is now two goals behind Bob. Her teams are once again Celtic, Manchester City and West Brom.
At the other end at 133 we still have John Filtness at the bottom for a total of twenty-five consecutive weekends as none of his teams were in action this week. He has now had twenty-eight weeks at the bottom but he is now seventeen goals adrift  this weekend. His teams are Birmingham, Hamilton and Liverpool. John remains in 35th place in our Losers League.

With not much going on with the football this week, here are our top ten.
