Week Thirty-Three

In Week Thirty-Three of the competition and we had just one winner to take the full £6 cash prize money with 8 goals, and it went to PHIL REEVE our two time Champion from the 1987/88 Season and then again in the 2011/12 Season. This is his second win of the season and he last won some cash in Week Fourteen. Since then he has picked up just one more blank score sheet to give him a total of three to date. His best team is still Manchester City.

CELTIC 1, MANCHESTER CITY 3, WEST HAM 4

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Nearly half of us managed to pick up some goals in midweek this week. The highest score that we had was with six goals and they went to JAMES BLYTH and TERRY WARWICK. James teams are Aston Villa, Celtic and Notts County which took his midweek total up to 70 goals. Terry has Aston Villa, Manchester City and Notts County and he is now on 75 midweek goals. The race for the cash has had a little change this week.
This week we have not added any new players name to the list with 50 or more midweek goals and this week and we remain with a total of 125 that have reached that mark.
So once again we still have GRAHAM HARRIS at the top and he now needs just four goals to win the cash as he picks up five goals. Graham has Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom and a total of 96 goals. JUNE TIGHE has remained in second place again with a total of 88 goals but she is now joined with KELLIE STRATTON who has moved up from third place. In third place this week up from four is JOHN DAVIES with a total of 87 goals. In fourth place down from three we have DANNY HARRINGTON on a total of 86 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS
We had most of our teams in action over weekend with fifteen of them failing to score any goals once again. We had another fourteen teams that had no game but some of these are due to the bad weather we had over the weekend. So the weekends average score for the third weekend running remained at 4 goals. All but one of us managed to pick up some goals this weekend. The highest score that we had came from the English Premiership where WEST HAM won 4-3 at home against Huddersfield. That has taken their goals tally up to 57 goals.
West Ham are one of our original teams that started in our very first season of 1983/84. They became our 7th voted team and they finished on a total of 79 goals. This is their 29th Season with Golden Goals and their biggest total was in the 1989/90 Season with 91 goals. Last season they scored a total of 57 goals. Over the years they have scored a total of 1862 goals which gives them an average score of 64 goals per season. This season they have just three votes and they have had twelve blank score sheets to date.
