WeekThirty-Nine

In Week Thirty-Nine of the competition and we had our very last weekend to win some cash for this season. We had a Rollover Jackpot worth £12 in cash for our last winner who was JOHN WOOD’S “Lucifer” combination. John won a on a total of 8 goals.
This is John third win of the season and he last won back in Week Thirty-Six with a shared win. John becomes the second player to win three times this season and has won over £18 in cash. John’s Lucifer combination has picked up just two blank score sheets to date and 60th place is still his highest from Week Two.  His teams are for the last time

We have four players that have now reached 100 Midweek goals this week. GRAHAM HARRIS is now on a total of 107 goals after he picked up another goal from Tottenham. His combination is Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom. Graham is still a long way off of beating our record held by Daryl Nicholls with 136 goals from the 2016/17 Season? John Davies is still in second place with 105 goals but he is now joined with Adam Sansom up from four. Kellie Stratton is still in third place now with 102 goals. In fourth place up from five with 99 goals is June Tighe. In fifth place on 98 goals we have Toby Bicknell and in sixth place Phill Collins with 97 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS
We had all but three of our teams in action over weekend with thirteen of them failing to score any goals. The weekends average score went up from two goals from last weekend to just 3 goals this week. The highest score that we had was five goals and they came from the League One where ACCRINGTON STANLEY won 5-1 at home against PLYMOUTH. Accrington with their highest score of the season have taken their goals total up to 56. Plymouth picked up goal number 58.
Accrington are in their third season with Golden Goals and they became our 102nd English team to join us. They first started in the 2006/07 Season and scored a total of 71 goals which is their highest to date. Last time out was in the 2016/17 Season and finished on a total of 67 goals. Over the three seasons they have scored a total of 194 goals which gives them an average score of 64 goals per season. They have just one vote this season.

PREMIERSHIP
We are back to the top nine teams here this weekend with MANCHESTER CITY holding on to top place after they won 1-0 away to Burnley. City are still our top scoring team with 126 goals. They have now scored in all of their last eleven games. Liverpool are down to in second place and one point behind Manchester City. TOTTENHAM have remained in third place as they as they pick up their sixth blank of the season after they were beaten 1-0 at home against WEST HAM. West Ham picked up goal number 61. CHELSEA are now in fourth place after they drew 1-1 away to MANCHESTER UNITED in sixth place. Chelsea are now on a total of 73 goals to United’s total of 74. ARSENAL are down to fifth place after they lost 3-0 away to LEICESTER CITY in eight place. As Arsenal picked up their fifth blank of the season, Leicester have taken their goals tally to 57 goals. WOLVES are up to seventh place after they won 2-1 away to Watford and they are now on a total of 60 goals. EVERTON are down to ninth place after they drew 0-0 away to Crystal Palace to pick up their tenth blank of the season. It’s 40 goals for FULHAM after they won 1-0 at home to Cardiff.  BOURNEMOUTH drew 3-3 away to Southampton and they are now on 61 goals.

CHAMPIONSHIP
With Norwich top and Sheffield United in second place, both teams have now been promoted to the Prem for next season.
In the Play-off Zone, we have all four teams now. LEEDS UNITED are in third place after they drew 1-1 at home against ASTON VILLA in fifth place. Leeds take their goals total to 74 while Villa are on 81. WEST BROM are in fourth place as they win 2-1 at home to ROTHERHAM. West Brom are now on 91 goals while Rotherham picked up goal number 54 and they have now scored in all of their last nine games. In sixth place is DERBY who won 2-0 away to Bristol City. Derby are now on 81 goals
Meanwhile BIRMINGHAM drew 1-1 at home to Wigan and that is goal number 64 for them. STOKE drew 0-0 away to Millwall and that is their seventeenth blank of the season. BLACKBURN lost 2-1 away to leaders Norwich and that is goal 76 for Blackburn. NOTTINGHAM FOREST are on 69 goals as they win 1-0 away to QPR. SWANSEA drew 2-2 at home to HULL and they are now on 75 goals while Hull are on 67. Relegated IPSWICH lost 2-0 away to Sheffield United and that is their twenty-first blank of the season and now three blanks in a row.

LEAGUE ONE
LUTON are still on top after they lost 2-1 away to BURTON ALBION. Luton are now on a total of 90 goals while Burton are now on 75 goals and they have now scored in all of their last ten games. BARNSLEY are still in second place after they won 2-1 at home against Blackpool. Barnsley are on 88 goals and a goal run of seven games.
In the Play-off Zone we have three of the four teams here. PORTSMOUTH are in third place as they drew 1-1 with SUNDERLAND in fourth place. Portsmouth are on 88 goals and a goal run of ten games while Sunderland are on 81 and a goal run of eight games. CHARLTON are in fifth place after they won 2-0 away to Gillingham to take their goals total up to 75 and a goal run of seven games.
Meanwhile COVENTRY drew 1-1 at home to SHREWSBURY and they are now on 56 goals to Shrewsbury’s 65. It’s 60 goals for WYCOMBE but they lost 2-1 away to AFC Wimbledon. BRISTOL ROVERS picked up their eigteenth blank of the season and now two in a row as they drew 0-0 away to Fleetwood. ROCHDALE are on 59 goals and a goal run of eight games, as they win 1-0 at home to SOUTHEND who picked up their fifteenth blank of the season. After a three game dry spell for goals, SCUNTHORPE are now on 54 goals after they lost 3-2 at home to Bradford. PETERBOROUGH lost 3-0 away to Walsall and that is their twelfth blank of the season.

LEAGUE TWO
Promoted LINCOLN CITY lost yet again 1-0 away to New Port. Lincoln have now failed to score in their last three games. MANSFIELD are in third place after they lost 2-1 at home to Stevenage to pick up goal number 77.
In the Play-off Zone we have two teams of the four. They are MK DONS in third place as they lost 2-0 away to Colchester to pick up their seventh blank of the season. EXETER in seventh place won 1-0 at home to OLDHAM. Exeter are now on 63 goals while Oldham picked up their twelfth blank score sheet.
Meanwhile SWINDON lost 3-2 away to Cheltenham and they are now on a total of 58 goals. It’s 50 goals for NOTTS COUNTY as they win 2-1 at home against Grimsby.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Scottish Premiership, Champions CELTIC won 1-0 at home against Kilmarnock to take their goals total to 93 goals.  RANGERS are still second and they are our highest Scottish scorer’s as they win 2-0 at home to ABERDEEN in third place. Rangers are now on 94 goals while Aberdeen picked up their eleventh blank score sheet. It’s 60 goals for HIBERNIAN who drew 1-1 at home to HEARTS. Hearts are now on 69 goals. HAMILTON drew 3-3 at home to Livingston and they are now on 30 goals.
In the Championship, Ross County are promoted at the top after their win of Friday night. ALLOA  lost 2-1 at home to Inverness CT and they are now on 51 goals. AYR UNITED won 2-1 away to Partick and they are now on 67 goals. Bottom of the table FALKIRK lost 2-0 away to Dundee Utd and that is their fourteenth blank of the season and now two games in a row.
In League One, RAITH ROVERS are still in third place after they won 3-2 at home to Brechin. Raith are on 83 goals and have now scored in all of their last eleven games. DUMBARTON won 2-1 at home to Stranraer and they are now on 62 goals. STENHOUSEMUIR drew 1-1 at home to East Fife and that is their 44th goal of the season.
In League Two, PETERHEAD are still top after they drew 1-1 at home against Stirling. Peterhead take their goals tally up to 67 goals.

Our Best teams this week are ASTON VILLA after they have scored in all of their last twelve League and Cup games played. They have a total of 81 goals from forty-eight games which gives them a average score of 1.6 goals per game.

Our worst team this week is IPSWICH as they have picked up a total of twenty-one blank score sheets out of thirty-seven League and Cup games played this season. They have now scored just three goals in their last seven games.

Our biggest result in our 36th Season comes from MANCHESTER CITY as they win 9-0 at home against league one BURTON ALBION in the Carabao/League Cup semi-final first leg tie in Week Twenty-Four.

KELLIE STRATTON is still top this weekend with her eighth weekend of the season and now three in a row. Kellie picked up a total of just six goals for the week from Celtic, Manchester City and West Brom. She has also jumped up the Champions League to 15th place and has beaten another eight past Champions including our 2005/06 Champion Keamus Setna with 309 goals. Bob Sawyer is still in second place as he collected a total of seven goals with three coming from the weekend. His teams are once again. Celtic, Luton and Manchester City.
At the other end at 133 we still have John Filtness at the bottom for a total of thirty consecutive weekends as he picks up a total of twelve goals for the week. He has now had thirty-three weeks at the bottom but he is now eighteen goals adrift  this weekend. His teams are Birmingham, Hamilton and Liverpool. John has made more progress in our Loser’s League by catapulting up the table by beating our past fifteen lowest scores. John is now above Malcolm,s Cormack score of 178 goals in our 2013/14 Season. John has moved up to 14th place in our Losers League.

Liverpool Thrash Huddersfield

In the English Premiership, LIVERPOOL have now gone back on top of the league after they beat relegated Huddersfield 5-0 at home. Liverpool have now scored in all of their last seven games and they are now on a total of 86 goals.

In the Scottish Championship, top of the table ROSS COUNTY won 4-0 at home against Queen of the South and that have taken their goals tally up to 75 goals.

City Back on Top

MANCHESTER CITY have gone back on top of the English Premiership after they beat their rivals, MANCHESTER UNITED 2-0 away. City have now taken their goals tally to 125 goals and they have now scored in all of their last ten games. United on the other hand, picked up their sixth blank score sheet of the season and now have failed to score in their last two games.
WOLVES won 3-1 at home against ARSENAL. Wolves are now on a total of 58 goals while Arsenal picked up goal number 78.

Tottenham Remain Third

In the English Premiership, TOTTENHAM scored a very late goal to beat Brighton 1-0 at home. The single goal is Tottenham’s 81st goal of the season.

In League One, Top of the table LUTON drew 2-2 at home against AFC Wimbledon and they have taken their goals tally up to 89 and they have now scored in all of their last eight games. ACCRINGTON STANLEY have moved up to 14th place in the league after they won 2-1 away to Doncaster. Accrington are now on 51 goals.

In the Scottish Championship, AYR UNITED lost 1-0 at home to Partick and that is their thirteenth blank score sheet of the season.

Easter Bank Holiday Monday Results

We had thirty-five of our Golden Goals teams in action over the Easter Bank Holiday Monday and out of them just eight failed to score any goals.

In the English Premiership, CHELSEA drew 2-2 at home against Burnley and they are now on a total of 72 goals and have moved up to fourth place in the league.

In the Championship, It’s 80 goals for ASTON VILLA as they win 1-0 at home against Millwall. BLACKBURN won 2-0 at home to Bolton and they are now on a total of 75 goals. DERBY won 2-0 at home to Queens Park Rangers and they have taken their goals tally up to 79. HULL picked up their fourteenth blank of the season as they lost 3-0 at home to Sheffield United. SWANSEA won 1-0 away to bottom of the table IPSWICH and they are now on 73 goals while Ipswich picked up their twentieth blank score sheet and now two in a row. NOTTINGHAM FOREST won 3-0 at home to Middlesbrough and they have taken their goals total up to 68 goals. WEST BROM drew 0-0 away to Reading and picked up blank number nine for them. BIRMINGHAM won 3-1 away to ROTHERHAM and they are now on a total of 63 goals while Rotherham are on 53 and have extended their goals run to eight games. STOKE drew 2-2 at home against top of the table Norwich and they are now on 50 goals. BRENTFORD are now  on 83 goals as they win 2-0 at home against LEEDS UNITED who picked up their Seventh blank of the season.

CHARLTON picked up the biggest score of the night as they won 4-0 at home to SCUNTHORPE. Charlton are now on a total of 73 goals. Scunthorpe picked up blank number eighteen and now three games without a goal. PETERBOROUGH drew 1-1 at home to SUNDERLAND and they are now on 74 goals while Sunderland hit goal number 80. BARNSLEY are now on 86 goals as they win 3-0 away to PLYMOUTH who picked up their sixteenth blank of the season. SHREWSBURY lost 3-2 at home to Oxford Utd and they are now on 64 goals. WYCOMBE are on 59 goals as they win 1-0 at home to Walsall.

In League Two, It’s all going wrong for LINCOLN CITY as they drew 0-0 at home to Tranmere and that is their fifth blanks core sheet and now two in a row. NOTTS COUNTY drew 1-1 away to Crawley and they are now on 48 goals. MK DONS drew 1-1 at home to Port Vale and that is goal number 74 for them. OLDHAM won 3-2 at home against MANSFIELD and they have taken their goals tally to 72 while Mansfield are on 76. EXETER drew 1-1 away to Stevenage and that is goal number 62 and a goal run of nine games. Week Thirty-Eight

In Week Thirty-Eight of the competition we had a total of five players that picked up the highest score with six goals each. They were RAY BUCKLAND, EMMA NEWMAN, SORAN SEYEDI, BOB SOPER and TIM WOOD. With no prize money this weekend, next weekend we have a Rollover Jackpot of £12 in cash for our last weekend for cash this season.

It’s 60 goals for DUMBARTON as they win 3-0 at home against East Fife. Bottom of the table STENHOUSEMUIR lost 3-0 at home to Forfar and that is their twelfth blank score sheet.
In League Two, PETERHEAD are still top after they beat Elgin 2-1 away. Peterhead take their goals tally up to 66 goals.

Bob Sawyer is still in second place as he collected a total of four goals all coming at the weekend. His teams are once again. Celtic, Luton and Manchester City.
At the other end at 133 we still have John Filtness at the bottom for a total of twenty-nine consecutive weekends as he picks up a total of five goals for the week. He has now had thirty-two weeks at the bottom but he is now eighteen goals adrift  this weekend. His teams are Birmingham, Hamilton and Liverpool. John has made more progress in our Loser’s League by beating our lowest score in the 2015/16 Season by Steptoe & Son with there score of 164 goals and Brian Gorman’s score of 165 goals in the 1989/90 Season which has moved John up to 29th place in our Losers League.

WEST BROM are still in fourth place after they won 3-2 at home to HULL. West Brom have taken their goals tally up to 89 while Hull are now on 65. In the English Premiership, ARSENAL have moved up to third place as they beat Watford 1-0 away. The goal came in the first ten minutes of play and that is Arsenal’s 75th goal of the season.

Week Thirty-Seven

In Week Thirty-Seven of the competition we had our 40th winner of the season who is JOHN DAVIES. John won on a score of 12 goals to pick up the full Weekend Jackpot of £6.00 in cash.                  
John is in his fourth season with Golden Goals as he started with us in the 2015/16 Season. In that season, John finished in the winning frame in third place on a total of 289 goals, collecting over £51 in cash including a shared weekend win. Last season John finished in 82nd place on 267 goals again collecting a shared weekend win. This season he has been as high as third place and that was in Weeks Five and Six. We already know that GRAHAM HARRIS has won this season’s 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot of £30 last week. Graham is now on a total of 103 goals. His combination is Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom. But can Graham beat our record held by Daryl Nicholls with 136 goals from the 2016/17 Season? We have a busy Easter weekend coming up. John Davies is in second place with 98 goals while Kellie Stratton is in third place with 97 goals. Adam Sansom is in fourth place with 95 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS
We had most of our teams in action again over weekend with eleven of them failing to score any goals and another five teams that had no game. So the weekends average score shot up from just three to 7 goals. The reason is that our teams really put on a show this weekend with very high scores.
The highest score that we had was five goals and we had two teams that reached that score. They came from the Premiership where BOURNEMOUTH won 5-0 away to Brighton to take their goals total up to 58 goals with their biggest win of the season. The other team was COVENTRY from the League One where they won 5-4 away to SUNDERLAND. With their biggest win of the season, Coventry are now on a total of 52 goals while Sunderland are on 77.

WILLIAM HILL CUP Semi-Finals
We had three of our teams playing in the semi-finals and they were Champions CELTIC, who won 3-0 away to ABERDEEN. Celtic are now on a total of 92 goals while Aberdeen picked up their tenth blank of the season. Celtic will be playing HEARTS in the final as they won 3-0 at home to Inverness CT. Hearts are now on a total of 67 goals.

PREMIERSHIP
We still have the top nine teams here with LIVERPOOL holding on to top place after they won 2-0 at home against CHELSEA in fourth place. Liverpool are now on a total of 79 goals while Chelsea picked up their twelfth blank of the season. MANCHESTER CITY are in second place and two points behind Liverpool as they win 3-1 away to Crystal Palace. City are still our top scoring team with 122 goals. They have now scored in all of their last eight games. TOTTENHAM are still third as they won 4-0 at home to Huddersfield. They are now on 80 goals. In fifth place is MANCHESTER UNITED who won 2-1 at home against WEST HAM. United take their goals tally up to 73 goals while West Ham hit goal number 58 after a tow game dry spell. Sixth is Arsenal and Leicester City are in seventh place. Eight is WOLVES who lost 3-1 away to Southampton to pick up goal number 55 while EVERTON follow as they lost to relegated FULHAM 2-0 away. Everton have picked up their ninth blank of the season while Fulham are now on a total of 38 goals.


CHAMPIONSHIP
LEEDS UNITED have moved back up to second place after they won 1-0 at home against Sheffield Wednesday. Leeds are now on 72 goals. In the Play-off Zone we have just two teams with WEST BROM still in fourth place after they won 4-0 at home against Preston. West Brom are now on 86 goals. ASTON VILLA are still in fifth place after they won 2-1 at home to Bristol City. Villa are now on a total of 78 goals and they have now scored in all of their last nine games.
Meanwhile, DERBY are on 75 goals after they won 4-0 at home against Bolton. Bottom of the table IPSWICH drew 1-1 at home to BIRMINGHAM. Ipswich are now on a total of 34 goals while Birmingham hit goal number 58. HULL picked up their thirteenth blank of the season as they lost 1-0 away to Middlesbrough. BLACKBURN won 2-1 away to NOTTINGHAM FOREST and they are now on 71 goals while Forest are on 65. After picking up twelve goals in their last five games, SWANSEA picked up their thirteenth blank score sheet after they lost 4-0 away to Queens Park Rangers. It’s 80 goals for BRENTFORD who lost 2-1 away to Reading. STOKE drew 2-2 at home to ROTHERHAM and they are now on a total of 48 goals while Rotherham are on 49.

LEAGUE ONE
We are still doing well here with LUTON still on top after they lost 3-1 away to CHARLTON. Luton are now on a total of 84 goals. Charlton are on 68 goals. In second place and now just five points behind Luton is BARNSLEY. They won 4-2 at home against Fleetwood. Barnsley are now on a total of 81 goals.
In the Play-off Zone, in third place is Sunderland and in fourth place we still have PORTSMOUTH. They won 4-1 at home to ROCHDALE and they are now on 83 goals and they have now scored in all of their last seven games. Rochdale picked up goal number 56. Charlton remain in fifth place.
Meanwhile ACCRINGTON STANLEY are on 49 goals after they won 2-1 at home to Walsall. PETERBOROUGH won 1-0 away to Blackpool and they take their goals total up to 72. BRISTOL ROVERS won 3-2 at home to Bradford and they are on 49 goals. PLYMOUTH lost 2-0 away to Doncaster and that is their fifteenth blank and now two in a row. SHREWSBURY won 2-0 away to Gillingham and they have taken their goals total to 61. It’s 70 goals for BURTON ALBION as they win 3-0 away to SCUNTHORPE who have picked up their sixteenth blank of the season. WYCOMBE are on 58 goals after they won 2-0 away to SOUTHEND, who picked up their fourteenth blank of the season and now just two goals in their last five games.

LEAGUE TWO
Congratulations to LINCOLN CITY who have been promoted to League One after they drew 1-1 at home to Cheltenham. Lincoln are now on a total of 84 goals and they have extended their goal run to twenty-nine games. MANSFIELD have moved down to third place after they drew 1-1 away to Mansfield and that is their 70th goal of the season.
In the Play-off Zone this weekend we have two teams left in it and they are MK DONS who lost 2-1 away to Tranmere. The Dons are now on 71 goals. It’s 60 goals for EXETER who are still in seventh place after they won 2-0 at home to Port Vale.
Meanwhile NOTTS COUNTY picked up their eighteenth blank score sheet after they lost 3-0 away to Crewe. OLDHAM drew 2-2 at home to SWINDON and they are on 69 goals while Swindon are on 55.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Scottish Championship, leaders ROSS COUNTY drew 0-0 at home to Partick and that is their eighth blank of the season. ALLOA  won 1-0 at home to Queen of South and that is their 49th goal of the season. FALKIRK won 1-0 away to Dunfermline and that is goal number 40 for them.
In League One, RAITH ROVERS are still in second place after they lost 3-2 at home against Stranraer. Raith are on 78 goals and have now scored in all of their last nine games. DUMBARTON drew 0-0 away to Forfar and that is their ninth blank of the season after a goal run of eleven games. Bottom of the table STENHOUSEMUIR won 1-0 away to Airdrie and that is their 43rd goal.  
In League Two, PETERHEAD are still top after they drew 1-1 at home to Albion to take their goals tally up to 64 goals.

Our Best teams this week are LINCOLN CITY after they have scored in all of their last twenty-nine League and Cup games out of forty-seven played. They have a total of 84 goals which gives them a average score of 1.7 goals per game.

Our worst team this week is HAMILTON as they have now picked up a total of twenty-one blank score sheets out of thirty-eight League and Cup games played this season. They have now scored just four goals in their last eight games.

Our biggest result in our 36th Season comes from MANCHESTER CITY as they win 9-0 at home against league one BURTON ALBION in the Carabao/League Cup semi-final first leg tie in Week Twenty-Four.

KELLIE STRATTON is back at the top this weekend with her sixth weekend of the season. Kellie picked up a total of twelve goals for the week from Celtic, Manchester City and West Brom. She has also climbed up the Champions League to 25th place by beating our joint winners Ricky Wood and Gerry Kyei score of 293 goals in the 2007/08 Season, Tony Axford’s score of 297 goals in the 1991/92 Season and Richard William’s score of 298 goals in the 2015/16 Season. Bob has moved back down to second place as he collected a total of seven goals all coming at the weekend. His teams are once again. Celtic, Luton and Manchester City.
At the other end at 133 we still have John Filtness at the bottom for a total of twenty-eight consecutive weekends as he picks up a total of four goals for the week. He has now had thirty-one weeks at the bottom but he is now twenty goals adrift  this weekend. His teams are Birmingham, Hamilton and Liverpool. John has made more progress in our Loser’s League by beating our lowest score in the 2017/18 Season by Colin Pinder with his score of 162 goals to move up to 31st place in our Losers League.
