The book is now closed for this season’s Golden Goals 39. In the end we had a total of 111 entries back of which only four are new to the competition. The season has really been a bit disappointing as the number fall down once again. After reaching our peek in 2017/18 Season with 149 players, we have failed to get even near that total ever since.
How the team selection have finished
We have just forty-seven English teams this time round with Manchester City picking up the most votes with just 39. In second place we have Manchester United with 30 votes. Third place we have Liverpool with 29 votes. In fourth place we have Chelsea with 140 votes and in fifth place we have Bournemouth with 18 votes. We still have seven teams from our Scottish leagues with Rangers leading the votes this season with 54. Celtic are second with the lowest ever number of votes with just 9.
We even have two new teams to the league and
they are Sutton United and Kelty Hearts with just one vote each.
