Week Seventeen

In Week Seventeen of the competition we had our second player to pick up two wins this season and it goes to RICKY MILES. Ricky won on a score of 11 goals which is his personal best score this season. Ricky won his first lot of cash in Week Eleven where he shared the cash in our second Rollover. Since then he has picked up another blank weekend score sheet which now takes him up to a total of four. This weekend we see Ricky at his highest to date. His wining Teams are 

 LEICESTER CITY 4, LIVERPOOL 4, RANGERS 3

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

Over half of us managed to pick up some midweek goals this week so the race for the cash has remained much the same again this week. It was REBECCA  HARRINGTON that picked up the most number of goals with six this week. They came from Burton and Charlton her third teams is Manchester City and that has taken her midweek total to 27 goals. In the lead we still have BOB SOPER with a total of 48 goals. His teams are Arsenal, Fulham and Rangers. In second place with 47 goals we still have COLIN WEBB. In third place we have LYANNA GRIMWOOD and up from four PETER PORTER both with a total of 43 goals. In fourth place we still have and JAMIE WOOD and joining him we have GEOFF CARTHY up from five and TED HARRINGTON up from six. TONY GUY (3) moves back in. All four are on a total of 41 goals. In fifth place with 39 goals we have LOUIE HARRINGTON back in the race. 

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had all but five of our teams in action this weekend and out of them only ten failed to score any goals. So that means that our weekend average score for the second weekend running remained at 5 goals. The Highest score over the weekend was four goals and they came from two of our teams. They were LEICESTER CITY and LIVERPOOL. 

PREMIER LEAGUE

We now have the top thirteen teams here with CHELSEA still on top and now just one point clear as they drew 1-1 at home against MANCHESTER UNITED. Chelsea are now on a total of 33 goals and have now scored in all of their last eight games. United are in eighth place with a total of 21 goals. MANCHESTER CITY are second after they won 2-1 at home against WEST HAM. City are now on a total of 33 goals. West Ham remained in fourth place with a total of 25 goals. LIVERPOOL are still in third place as they win 4-0 again at home to Southampton. Liverpool keep their 100% scoring record going after playing in fifteen games and are now on a total of 44 goals. ARSENAL in fifth place won 2-0 at home to Newcastle and they are on a total of 26 goals. BRIGHTON picked up their fifth blank of the season and now two in a row after they drew 0-0 at home to Leeds. CRYSTAL PALACE lost 2-1 At home to ASTON VILLA to pick up their 19th goal of the season and a goal run of eight games. Villa are on 25 goals. WOLVES drew 0-0 away to Norwich and that is their sixth blank score sheet. BRENTFORD won 1-0 at home to Everton and they are on 29 goals and they have now scored in all of their last six games. LEICESTER CITY won 4-2 at home to WATFORD. Leicester are now on a total of 24 goals while Watford are on 20 goals. 

CHAMPIONSHIP

FULHAM are still top of the league after they drew 1-1 away to PRESTON. Fulham are now on a total of 51 goals. Preston picked up goal number 33. BOURNEMOUTH are still second as they drew 2-2 at home to Coventry. Bournemouth are on a total of 41 goals and have now scored in all of their last ten games. West Brom remained in third place. HULL won again this weekend as they win 2-1 at home against Millwall. Hull are on a total of 17 goals. CARDIFF won 2-1 away to Luton and they are on a total of 24 goals this week. PETERBOROUGH drew 0-0 at home to BARNSLEY and that is their twelfth blank of the season and have been goalless for four games now. Barnsley picked up their eleventh blank and now two in a row. SWANSEA lost 3-2 at home to READING and they are on 32 goals while Reading are on 26. SHEFFIELD UNITED are on 28 goals after they won 2-0 at home to Bristol City. 

LEAGUE ONE

ROTHERHAM are top this weekend after they drew 0-0 away to OXFORD UNITED. Rotherham have now had a total of four blank score sheets after a goal run of six games. Oxford picked up their fifth blank. WIGAN have moved up to second place after they won 2-1 away to PLYMOUTH. Wigan are on 37 goals while Plymouth after a two game dry spell fall down to fourth place with a total of 41 goals. WYCOMBE have moved up to third place after they drew 2-2 away to SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY. Wycombe are on 37 goals while Wednesday are on 30. BOLTON drew 2-2 at home to Cheltenham and they are on 34 goals. BURTON ALBION won 2-0 at home against Doncaster and they are on a total of 25 goals. SUNDERLAND won 2-1 away to Cambridge Utd and they are on 37 goals. PORTSMOUTH won 1-0 away to Gillingham and they are on 28 goals and a goal run of eight games now. LINCOLN CITY picked up their eighth blank score sheet and now no goals in their last three games as they lost 1-0 at home to Accrington. CHARLTON lost 1-0 away to Shrewsbury and that is their fourth blank of the season after they had scored in all of their last sixteen games. IPSWICH won 2-1 at home to Crewe and they are on a total of 39 goals after a two game dry spell. 

LEAGUE TWO

EXETER CITY have moved back down to third place after they drew 1-1 away to Rochdale. Exeter are on a total of 32 goals and have now scored in all of their last fourteen games. SWINDON are in fourth place as they drew 1-1 at home to Harrogate. Swindon are on 31 goals and they have now scored in all of their last ten games. CARLISLE won 1-0 at home to Walsall and that is their 15th goal of the season. SALFORD CITY won 2-0 at home to Oldham and that has taken their goals tally to 26 and a goal run of seven games. SUTTON UNITED won 1-0 at home to Barrow and they are on 31 goals. SCUNTHORPE are bottom of the table after they drew 1-1 at home against Bradford. Scunthorpe are on a total of 15 goals. 

Our BEST three teams this week are

Our WORST three teams are 

BARNSLEY (13) TOTTENHAM (14) CARLISLE UNITED (15) Total of 42 goals 

SCOTTISH LEAGUES

In the Premiership RANGERS are still top after they won 3-1 away to Livingston. Rangers are now on a total of 40 goals and they are four points in front of their rivals Celtic. CELTIC won 2-1 at home to ABERDEEN and they are on 39 goals while Aberdeen picked up goal number 17. HEARTS are in third place after they won 2-0 at home against St Mirren. Hearts are on a total of 35 goals.

In the SCOTTISH CUP Third Round , we had just three of our teams in this round and only one have made it through to the next round. They are KILMARNOCK who won 1-0 away to Queen’s Park and they are on 28 goals. KELTY HEARTS drew their game 0-0 at home to Montrose and after a goal run of fifteen games, Kelty picked up their second blank of the season. STENHOUSEMUIR go out after they lost 2-0 at home to Airdrie. That is their fifth blank and now two games in a row without a goal.

Our on-form team is LIVERPOOL after scoring in all of their fifteen League/Cup games with a total of 44 goals. 

Our worst team this week are PETERBOROUGH  after they have picked up twelve blank score sheets out of twenty-one games played. 

Our highest goal scorers in our 39th Season are now FULHAM who won 7-0 away to Blackburn Rovers in the league in Week Fourteen. CHELSEA won 7-0 at home to Norwich in the league in Week Twelve. BRENTFORD won 7-0 at home to Oldham in the third round of the Carabao/League Cup in Week Eight. 

We once again have a new leader this weekend and she becomes our second lady to lead the pack this season. They are ANN WELLARD.  Ann picked up a total of ten goals from the week. Her teams are Bournemouth, Liverpool and Rangers. Mango (Paul Moran) has dropped down to second place after he picked up five goals at the weekend. He is just one goal behind Ann. His teams are Chelsea, Fulham and Rangers.

At the other end at 113 we still have ZIGGY (John Wood) here this weekend which is now his thirteenth consecutive weekend at the bottom. Ziggy did picked up three goals this week. His teams are Crystal Palace, Scunthorpe and Stenhousemuir.
