Week Thirty-Five

In Week Thirty-Five of the competition and there is no prize money this weekend due to the internationals being played over the week. But next weekend we will have  our 3rd Rollover in our 40th Season worth £10. We have a total of 34 winners to date. 

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

Just 12 of us have managed to pick up some midweek goals again this week with another change in the leading pack for the £40 cash prize money this season, but will the cash be won now?

Leading the race this week we have JAMES BLYTH out in front with a total of 82 goals. His teams are Ipswich, Manchester City and Sheffield Wednesday. In second place we have FIONA CARTHY and TOBY BICKNELL our 2014/15 Champion both moving up from third place with COLIN WEBB coming down from one. All are now on a total of 80 goals. In third place down from two we have NICK HORTON and (me) STEVE REEVE. Both of us are still on a total of 79 goals. In fourth place we have CHRIS DICKER moving down from three still with a total of 78 goals. In fifth place we now have MARK GREGORY and KEITH THOMSON moving down from four with RICKY WOOD our 2007/08 Champion moving up from six. All are on a total of 77 goals. In sixth place this week we have our 2015/16 Champion RICHARD WILLIAMS moving down from five with a total of 76 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had just 18 of our teams in action and out of the the ones that did play, 5 failed to score any goals. After us getting an average score of seven goals last weekend, we crash to yet another zero. So not may of us received any goals this week. The highest score of the weekend came from SALFORD CITY as they picked up three goals.

LEAGUE ONE

Plymouth are top of the table with SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY in second place and are now two point behind them. In a shock result, Wednesday lost 1-0 away to bottom of the table FOREST GREEN ROVERS and picked up their 6th blank of the season after a goal run of eight games. Rovers won their sixth league game of the season and the goal takes them to a total of 36. Forest Green still remain rooted at the bottom of the league.

In the Play-Offs we still have Ipswich in third place with DERBY moving down to sixth place after they lost 2-0 away to PETERBOROUGH. Derby have picked up their 13th blank of the season and now two games in a row.

Meanwhile CHARLTON drew 1-1 at home against Wycombe and that is their 64th goal. LINCOLN CITY lost 2-1 away to Fleetwood and they are on a total of 44 goals. MK DONS won 1-0 at home against Morecambe and they are on a total of 48 goals.

LEAGUE TWO

The highest teams that we have in this league are all in the Play-Offs. They are STOCKPORT COUNTY still in fifth place after they won 1-0 away to SWINDON TOWN. Stockport are on a total of 62 goals while Swindon picked up their 13th blank of the season. SALFORD CITY have moved down to sixth place after they won 3-1 away to Stevenage. Salford are now on a total of 61 goals and a goal run of eight games. Bradford City are down to seventh place after their game was called off.

Meanwhile AFC WIMBLEDON lost 2-1 away to Barrow and picked up their 43rd goal of the season. CRAWLEY TOWN won 2-0 at home to Rochdale and they have taken their goals tally to 46. GILLINGHAM won 1-0 at home against Carlisle and they are on a total of 35 goals. MANSFIELD TOWN drew 0-0 at home to SUTTON UNITED and that is their 9th blank score sheet and now two in a row. Mansfield have scored just one goal in their last four games. Sutton picked up their 15th blank score sheet and now three in a row.

SCOTTISH LEAGUE RESULTS

In League One ALLOA are still in third place after they won 2-0 away to Peterhead and they are on a total of 58 goals.

In League Two, STENHOUSEMUIR drew 1-1 at home to Forfar and they are on a total of 58 goals. BONNYRIGG ROSE are now second from bottom of the league after they won 1-0 away to Albion who are now at the bottom. Bonnyrigg  they have taken their total to 38 goals.

Our WORST three teams are

CRYSTAL PALACE (25) EVERTON (25) CHELSEA (29) Total of 79 goals   

Our best performing team are RANGERS as they have now scored in all of their last 29 league/cup games played. They have a total of 86 goals. That gives them an average score of 2.3 goals per game.    

Our worst performing team is GILLINGHAM as they have picked up a total of 24 blank score sheets out of 47 League/Cup games played.  

Our highest goal scorers in our 40th Season are CELTIC who won 9-0 away to Dundee Utd in the league and LIVERPOOL who won 9-0 at home to Bournemouth in the league both from Week Five. Our 2010/11

 Champion TONY GUY with combo two, has remained at the top for his 22nd consecutive weekend. Tony picked up a total of 2 goals this week from Arsenal, Celtic and Sheffield Wednesday and he is now 5 goals in front.  Tony has remained in 39th place in our Champions League. Mark Gregory in second place, did not have any of his teams in action. They are Celtic, Manchester City and Norwich.

At the other end at 108 we still have SANDRA NICHOLLS did not have any of her teams in action this week. Sandra’s teams are Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Leicester City. Sandra has now been here for 5 weeks and a total of 20 weeks throughout the season.  

The top ten remains the same really this week but it could all change on next weeks sheet.
