WEEKEND RESULTS
With all the amber weather warnings that we had over the weekend for snow/ice and rain, I am surprised that we only had 5 of our teams without a game this weekend, but we had another 8 of our teams that failed to score any goals. So as such, we had a fairly good weekend once again. The average score this weekend, moved up from last weeks five back to 6 goals. So if you have done better than that? Well done.
The highest score over the weekend was 4 goals once again, and they came from the Premier League where MANCHESTER CITY won 4-1 at home against WEST HAM and have taken their goals tally to 39 goals and have now scored in all of their last 7 league/cup games. West Ham are on 26 goals.
City became our 15th voted team in our first season of 1983/84. In that season they finished on a total of 73 goals. They have reached their highest score of 137 goals twice. First was in the 2013/14 and then again in the 2018/19 seasons. Last season they finished on a total of 112 goals. This is their 31st season with Golden Goals and they have netted a total of 100 or more goals in 10 of the seasons. Over the years they have netted a total of 2713 goals which gives them an average of 87 goals per season to date. This season City have picked up just 2 blank score sheets out of 22 league/cup games. Here are the rest of the weekend results from our last league fixture for 2024.
