The next news sheet for
Golden Goals will be with you
tomorrow. I have just got to add the finishing touches tonight. You will also
see that we will have a new leader in the competition and that is Chris Challis.
The table has really changed over the last two weeks and it
looks as if it’s going to change again on our next sheet, next week.
To catch
up with the football, we had a very disappointing game on Bank holiday Monday
between Manchester
United and Chelsea with the game ending in a
0-0 draw. Both picked up their first blank score sheet of the season.
Last night we had the Capital One Cup Second Round with 17
of our teams in action. Out of them only seven have made it through to the next
round. Biggest score of the night was from Peterborough as they win 6-0 at home to Reading. Liverpool have
picked up their highest score of the season with a 4-2 home win against Notts County. Leicester City also
did well with a 5-2 away win over Carlisle.
In the Scottish Communities League Cup
Second Round, all three of our teams are through to the next round. Wins for Morton
and Queen of the
South but Aberdeen had to win on penalties 6-5
against Alloa.
