WEEK THIRTY-SIX

Who will be our next champion of Golden Goals as Paul Davey remains top again this weekend after his combinations of teams picked him up a total of 5 goals. Paul has in his combination Man City, Rangers and Wolves.
Paul Hudson has stayed in second place on goal difference after collecting a total of 8 goals for the week his combination is  Man City, Rangers and Watford. In third place we have CHRIS NUNN. Chris picked up just 4 goals all week and his teams are Chelsea, Man City and Rangers.
In the 103 spot we still have Malcolm Cormack who has now been there for eleven weeks, and now twelve over the season. Malcolm picked up 8 goals this week from his teams of Charlton, Portsmouth and Swindon. Above him in 102 is still John Dove as his teams  picked him up 6 goals and is now twenty goals in front of Malcolm.
Rangers still have that 100% scoring record after a run of thirty-eight league/cup games.
FA CUP Semi-Finals We had three of the four teams left in the FA Cup and only one has made it through to the finals. They are Arsenal and they had to go into extra time with Wigan after a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes. Arsenal go through in the penalty shoot-out 4-2. The single goal gives Arsenal their 70th goal of the season and Wigan’s 67th. In the other game Sheffield United lost 5-3 against Hull. United are now on 60 goals. So the final is now set between Arsenal and Hull.
In the Premiership, Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-2 at home  to keep their spot at the top. Liverpool become our third team to net over 100 goals this season with 102 and have now scored in all of their last twenty-seven games. Man City are still picking up them goals up and they look set to beat that Peterborough’s top score of 129 goals. Chelsea remained in second place as they win 1-0 away to Swansea. Chelsea are now on 74 goals while Swansea picked up their 10th blank of the season and now two games in a row. Man City are third and Everton are fourth as they win 1-0 away to Sunderland. Everton picked up goal number 69. Tottenham are on 55 goals now as they drew 3-3 away to West Brom. Crystal Palace are doing well as they win again 1-0 at home to Aston Villa. Palace picked up goal number 28. Villa picked up their 14th blank of the season.
In the Championship, Champions Leicester City had no game at the weekend. In the play-off zone we down to just two teams. QPR are there as they win 5-2 at home to Nottingham Forest. With their biggest win of the season, Rangers are now on 56 goals while Forest are on 76. Wigan are the other team. Bolton picked up goal number 60 as they win 1-0 at home to Barnsley while Bournemouth hit goal number 64 as they drew 1-1 away to Yeovil. Watford are on 78 as they drew 2-2 away to Millwall and after a three game dry spell for goals, Leeds win 2-0 at home against Blackpool. Leeds are now on 59 while Blackpool picked up their 15th blank score sheet of the season. Charlton picked up their 20th blank of the season as they lost 3-0 away to Brighton. Middlebrough are on 55 as they win 1-0 away to Burnley. Doncaster lost 2-1 away to Ipswich but picked up goal number 42.
In Scotland, In the WILLIAM HILL SCOTTISH CUP Semi-finals, Rangers lost 3-1 against Dundee Utd which I must admit was a bit of a supprise to me. But Rangers have scored, and that’s what’s counts. Rangers are now on 107 goals. Aberdeen also lost 2-1 to St Johnstone. Aberdeen are now on 63 goals. We have no teams in the finals this season.
The three best teams to date in Golden Goals are Man City wth 121 goals followed by Rangers on 107. Liverpool are third with 102 goals.
Crystal Palace are still our worst team to date but now with a total of just 28 goals out of a total of 36 league/cup games.
