Week Fourteen and the FA Cup 1st Round

We had a very important weekend this weekend with the first round of the FA CUP.
So this is where one of the highest scores came from as we had two teams that picked up five goals each. BARNSLEY won 5-0 against Burton in the first round of the cup and this is their highest score of the season which took their goals total to 28. DERBY was the other  team and they won 5-0 at home to WOLVES in a league game. Derby are now on 43 goals and are our best team this weekend. Wolves picked up their 4th blank score sheet of  the season.
 
FA CUP First Round
We had a total of 12 of our teams in the first round and seven have made it through to the second round so far. We already know about Barnsley but BURY are also through as they win 3-1 at home against non-league Hemel Hampstead. Bury are now on 31 goals. BRISTOL CITY won 2-1 away to Gillingham and are now on 36 goals while LUTON won 4-2 against Newport Co at home, which is their highest score to date. Luton are on 24 goals. PETERBOROUGH are on 27 goals as they win 2-1 at home to Carlisle. MK DONS won 4-3 away to Port Vale and are on 43 goals. SCUNTHORPE won 2-0 away to non-league Forest Green and that takes them up to a total of  22 goals.
With replays, SHEFFIELD UNITED drew 0-0 away to Crewe to pick up blank number three and now two games in a row. PORTSMOUTH drew 2-2 at home to Aldershot and they are on 21 goals. STEVENAGE picked up their 5th blank score sheet as they drew 0-0 at home to non-league Maidstone.
We had two teams that are already out of the FA Cup and they are LEYTON ORIENT as they lost 1-0 away to Oldham to get their 8th blank of the season and now they have scored just two goals in their last four games. COVENTRY are the other team to go as they lost 2-1 at home to non-league Worcester. Coventry are on 22 goals.
 
PREMIERSHIP
CHELSEA keep pole position and still four points clear of Southampton as they win 2-1 away to LIVERPOOL after going a goal down. Chelsea are on 32 goals and keep that 100%  goal run after thirteen games. Liverpool picked up goal number 18. MANCHESTER CITY are once again in third place as they drew 2-2 away to  QPR. City are now on 29 goals while Rangers are now on 11 goals but they are still our worst team. Down to sixth place is ARSENAL as they lost 2-1 away to Swansea after going a goal up. Arsenal are now on 20 goals. MANCHESTER UNITED could only beat CRYSTAL PALACE 1-0 at home but that gives them a total of  just 17 goals but they are now our third worst team to date. Palace picked up blank number  three. EVERTON drew 1-1 away to Sunderland and picked up goal number 20 while TOTTENHAM are on 19 as they lost 2-1 at home to Stoke.
 
CHAMPIONSHIP
It’s all change here once again at the top as DERBY moved back up after their midweek game. WATFORD drop right down to fifth place as they lost 1-0 away to Ipswich. Watford picked up blank number three. FULHAM are on 32 goals as they win 3-1 at home to Huddersfield while LEEDS won 3-1 at home to Blackpool and that now gives them a total of 23 goals. It’s 30 goals for NOTTINGHAM FOREST as they win 2-1 at home to NORWICH. Norwich are on 28 goals this weekend. READING picked up blank number seven as they lost 1-0 at home to CHARLTON who picked up their 24th goal of the season. It’s all going wrong for ROTHERHAM as they drew 0-0 away to Sheffield Wednesday to pick up their 8th blank and now three in a row.
 
SCOTTISH LEAGUES                                                                                                           
In Scotland it was a full league fixture as CELTIC win 2-1 away to Aberdeen to move them to top of the Scottish Premiership. Celtic are now on 34 goals. RANGERS won 4-0 at home to Falkirk and are now on 42 goals while HEARTS are on 35 as they win 1-0 at home against Raith. STENHOUSEMUIR lost 2-0 away to Airdrie to pick up their 5th blank of the season while DUNFERMLINE drew 1-1 away to Peterhead and are now on 26 goals.
 
THE BEST THREE TEAMS ARE…

THE WORST THREE TEAMS ARE…  

QPR (11) ROTHERHAM (16) MANCHESTER UTD (17) Total of 44 goals.
 
QUEENS PARK RANGERS are still our worst team for this season. After a total of twelve games, in which eleven are league games and a cup game, Rangers have now picked up eleven goals and they have had five blank score sheets.
 
MANCHESTER CITY  have picked up our highest score of  the season when they won their Capital One Cup third round tie against Sheffield Wednesday 7-0 at home.
 
LEYTON ORIENT and ROTHERHAM  have both now picked up the most number of blank score sheets this season with a total of eight games each. 
 
We are following Manchester City record breaking end of season score of 137 goals from last season, In Week fourteen last season, City had no game in midweek and at the weekend they failed too score any goals. Their goals tally have remained at 35 goals after their first thirteen games played. They have now had two blank score sheet’s and their highest score was seven goals against Norwich in the league.
This season they also had no game in midweek and at the weekend they picked up two goal’s against QPR which means that they are on 29 goals this weekend. They have had two blank score sheet after thirteen games. They are now six goals behind last seasons record run. They have no game at all this week due to the International games being played.
