Week Thirteen

Not a brilliant weekend for our top teams but all goals count. Although we  had eight of our teams that failed to score we had three teams that did not play.
The highest score that we had came from the Scottish WILLIAMS HILL third round cup game as DUNFERMLINE win 4-1 away to East Stirling. They are just one of our three teams in Cup action this weekend that have made it through to the next round.
Dunfermline are now in their sixth season with Golden Goals and they started way back in our 1994/95 Season finishing on a total of  83 goals which is their highest score to date. They were last seen here in our 2007/08 Season and finished on their lowest score of  just 38 goals. This season they have secored a total of 25 goals after a total of fourteen games played and out of them, they have picked up three blank score sheets. They have three votes this season and their average score over the six season’s is 60 goals.
 
PREMIERSHIP
CHELSEA pole position and still four points clear of Southampton as they win 2-1 at home to QPR .Chelsea are now on 30 goals and keep their 100% scoring record going after twelve games. Rangers picked up goal number 9 and have now scored five goals in their last four games. MANCHESTER CITY are still third after they beat rivals MANCHESTER UNITED 1-0 at home. City are now on 27 goals while United picked up their 3rd blank of the season and they fall into our worst team frame this weekend. ARSENAL have moved up to fourth place as they win 3-0 at home to Burnley. The Gunners are on 19 goals. LIVERPOOL picked up their 3rd blank of the season as they lost 1-0 away to Newcastle while TOTTENHAM won 2-1 away to Aston Villa after going a goal down in the first half. Tottenham are now on 18 goals. EVERTON drew 0-0 at home to Swansea to pick up their 2nd blank of the season. 
 
CHAMPIONSHIP
It’s all change once again at the top in this one as WATFORD move back on top. They won 3-1 at home to Millwall to take their goals tally to 31. WOLVES have moved down to fourth place after they drew 0-0 at home to Birmingham. Wolves have now had three blank score sheets. DERBY are fifth as they lost 2-1 away to Brentford. Derby picked up goal number 35. It’s 23 for READING now as they lost 3-1away to Blackburn. CARDIFF won 3-1at home against LEEDS UTD and that now gives them a total of 26 goals while Leeds are on 18. CHARLTON are on 21 goals as they drew1-1 at home to Sheffield Wednesday. NOTTINGHAM FOREST picked up their 4th blank of the season as they went down 3-0 away to Huddersfield. ROTHERHAM lost 3-0 at home to Middlesbrough and picked up their 6th blank of the season. WIGAN drew 3-3 at homne to FULHAM and are now on 18 goals while Fulham are on 27.
 
LEAGUE ONE
BRISTOL CITY are still top here as they win 1-0 at home to Oldham. City are now on 34 goals. PRESTON are still second even though they lost 3-0 away to Rochdale. Preston picked up their very first blank of the season after a goals run of sixteen games. MK DON are third asthey win 2-1 at home against Swindon and are now on 39 goals and are still our best team of the season. PETERBOROUGH are on 25 goals after they lost 2-1 at home to SCUNTHORPE who are now on 20 goals. Aftera two game dry spell of goals, DONCASTER are now on 18 goals as they win 2-1 away to Bradford. LEYTON ORIENT also after a two games dry spell drew 2-2 at home to COVENTRY.  Orient and Coventry are both on 21 goals. BARNSLEY won 1-0 away to SHEFFIELD UNITED and picked up goal number 23 while United picked up their 2nd blank of the season.
 
LEAGUE TWO                                                                                                         
LUTON have dropped to second place as they drew 1-1 away to Exeter. Luton are on 20 goals. BURY are fourth as they win 2-0 at home to Cambridge Utd. Bury are on a total of 28 goals. PORTSMOUTH are slowly getting into this season as they win 3-0 at home to Carlisle and are now on 19 goals. STEVENAGE are on 21 goals as they drew 2-2 away to Tranmere.
 
SCOTTISH LEAGUES                                                                                                                       
We had another very good weekend for goals from our Scottish teams as all four of the five that palyed, all scored goals. In the third round of the WILLIAM HILL CUP, we had three of our teams in action. We already know about Dunfermline getting through but what about the other two? Well only one more are through to the next round and they are RANGERS as they win 1-0 away to Dumbarton. That was Rangers 35th goal of the season. STENHOUSEMUIR go out as they lost 2-1 at home to Brechinbut picked up goal number 20.
CELTIC played a league match and won 1-0 at home to Inverness. Celtic have had a good week for goals and are now on 32 goals.
 
THE BEST THREE TEAMS ARE…

THE WORST THREE TEAMS ARE…  

QPR (9) MANCHESTER UTD (16) ROTHERHAM (16) Total of 41 goals.
 
QUEENS PARK RANGERS are still our worst team to date for this season. After a total of eleven games, in which ten are league games and a cup game, Rangers have now picked up nine goals and they have still had five blank score sheets.
 
MANCHESTER CITY  have picked up our highest score of  the season when they won their Capital One Cup third round tie against Sheffield Wednesday 7-0 at home.
 
LEYTON ORIENT and PORTSMOUTH  have both picked up the most number of blank score sheets this season with a total of seven games each.
 
As you know, we are following Manchester City scored a record breaking end of season score of 137 goals last season, In Week thirteen last season, City two goals in midweek and seven at the weekend. Their goals tally have now moved up to 35 goals after their first twelve games played. They had just one blank score sheet from week six and their highest score was them seven goals against Norwich in the league. 
This season they failed to score in midweek and at the weekend they picked up just one goal against Man Utd which means that they are on 27 goals this weekend. They have now had two blank score sheet after twelve games. They are now eight goals behind last seasons record run. They are away to Queens Park Rangers this weekend.
