Week Thirty

This weekends average score went down from seven goals from last weekend to 5 goals this weekend. Another great weekend for goals really but not as good as last weekend. We had two teams that had no game and another six teams that failed to score any goals.
The highest score that we had came from the Scottish Championship where HEARTS won 10-0 at home to Cowdenbeath. This is their highest score of the season and they are now on a total of 76 goals and are once again our best Scottish team.
Hearts are in their tenth season with Golden Goals, starting in our 1986/87 Season, they became our 12th Scottish team in Golden Goals and they finished on 72 goals. In the following season, they picked up their highest score of 92 goals. Last time out they picked up 55 goals in our 2006/07 Season. Over the years they have netted a total of 664 goals and that gives them an average of 66 goals per season to date. They have just one vote this season.

CAPITAL ONE CUP FINAL
The old League Cup Final was played last Sunday with that all London final between CHELSEA and TOTTENHAM. And to be honest, it had to be Chelsea on the day as they have a better goal average than Tottenham but it could of gone any way in a Cup Final. We all know now that Chelsea won 2-0 and that now takes their goals tally to 72 and they have scored in all of their last nineteen games. Tottenham picked up their 6th blank of the season after a twelve goal scoring run.

PREMIERSHIP
Well MANCHESTER CITY could of made ground on Chelsea but failed after they lost 2-1 away to LIVERPOOL. Chelsea are still five points clear of  City and now they now have a game in hand. City are now on a total of 66 goals while Liverpool are now on 54. ARSENAL are still in third place as they win 2-0 at home against EVERTON. Arsenal are on 59 goals and they have stretched their goal run to ten games. Everton picked up their 10th blank score sheet of the season and they have now scored just two goals in their last four games. QPR are still our worst team this weekend even though they no game this week. Rangers have played a total of 28 games and they have picked up a total of eleven blank score sheets.

We have had three teams that have picked up the highest number of blank score sheets to date. They are READING, ROTHERHAM and WIGAN. All have picked up a total of 15 blank score sheets each to date.

HEARTS have now picked up the highest score this season with that 10-0 home win against Cowdenbeath in the league.

Manchester City had that record breaking end of season score of 137 goals last season but that will not be beating it this season. In Week thity last season, City had no game in midweek again and they picked up three goals at the weekend. That goal was their 103rd of the season after thirty-six games played. They have had four blank score sheet’s and their highest score was seven goals against Norwich in the league.
This season they picked up just the single goal at the weekend butagain  they had no game in midweek. So City are now on a total of 66 goals this weekend and they have had a total of four blank score sheet after thirty games played. They were clawing back the goals but they are now 37 goals behind last seasons record run. They are at home to Leicester City in midweek and they have no game at the weekend.

We have a new leader this weekend and his name is JAMES SOMERVILLE who  is now the ninth person to stay at the top this season as he collects a total of seven goals for the week. James picked up two goals jn midweek and another five at the weekend. His combination is Celtic, Derby and Man City. He has had three blank score sheets to date.
