Week Thirty-Five

In Week Thirty-Five of the competition and we had a Double Rollover worth £18 this weekend but it was not claimed as we had five players that picked up the highest score of 9 goals each. They were CHRIS BOOM, BOB BURGIN (Stalky (1), DANNY HARRINGTON, our double Champion PHIL REEVE and KAREN SMITH.
So for the very first time in our Golden Goals 35 year history, we will have a Triple Rollover worth £24 next weekend.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Although the race for the cash is over, we are now trying to beat the record number of midweek goals scored by Daryl Nicholls from last season with a total of 136 goals. There is a slim chance that we could do this as I (STEVE REEVE) now have a total of 102 goals with two goals from Wolves on Good Friday. JAMES BLYTH in second place has a total of 99 goals with his combination of Blackburn, Celtic and Wolves. In third place on 93 goals we have TOM BAXTER and in fourth place with 92 goals is BARBARA BARNES (1). STEPHEN CADWELL is in fifth place with 91 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS
Over the Easter weekend, we had just 50% of our teams in action but the weekends average score was 6 goals which is very good with the few teams that we had playing. This is mainly down to the Celtic and Manchester City combo that most of you have. The highest score that we had came from the Scottish Premiership where ABERDEEN won 4-1 at home to St Johnstone. That is the sixth time this season that Aberdeen have scored four goals in a game and they are now on a total of 59 goals.
Aberdeen have just two votes this season, but in our very first season of 1983/84, they were our most voted Scottish team and they scored their highest number of goals with 112. Last season they picked up a total of 89. This is their nineteenth season with us and over the years they have scored a total of 1436 goals, which gives them an average score of 75 goals per season to date.
