So who are the best teams that we have in the
2018 World Cup after the first round group games have been played. I can tell
you that they are.
BELGIUM (9) ENGLAND (8) RUSSIA (8) SPAIN (6) total of 31
goals.
All but eight
of our teams have scored in the first round, third games and they have
collected a total of 16 goals. This is the lowest score that we have since we
started the World Cup in Italia 1990. In that tournament we picked up a total
of 19 goals from the fifteen nations that we had in our very first World Cup. The
eight teams that have not scored in their third game are AUSTRALIA, DENMARK, ENGLAND, FRANCE, GERMANY, MEXICO, RUSSIA and SENEGAL.
In the
last Golden
Goals World Cup we reached a total of 92 goals from the first round, In
Russia our teams have scored a total of 16 goals in the third set of games and
a total of 76 goals over the tournament to date.
ENGLAND holds the current record for the
highest score with that 6-1 win over Panama in Group G in their second game of the group stage.
COSTA RICA from Group E and GERMANY
from Group F are our worst team as they have failed to score in two of their three
opening games.
Top Goal Scorers in
Russia 2018 are Harry Kane of England with 5 goals. Lukaku
of Belgium and Ronaldo of Portugal come next with 4 goals each. All are still
in the tournament.
We had four players
that picked up the most amount of goals in the last of the first round games.
They were Mike Harrington, Tony King, Nolan Taylor
and Jamie Wood. They all picked up a total of 7 goals from their combinations.
Harrington,
Brazil 2, Germany 0, Spain 2, Uruguay 3
King,
Brazil 2, France 0, Spain 2, Uruguay 3
Taylor,
Argentina 2, Brazil 2, Columbia 1, Spain 2
Wood,
Argentina 2, Belgium 1, Brazil 2, Spain 2
Tony
Jenkins has remained at the top after all of the games in the first round have
been played. His Teams are Belgium, Brazil, Russia and Spain. All are still in
play.
We have
12 of our 18 nations that have made it through to the Second Round. Most of us
still have all four teams in play while some are down to just two.
The Second round games are as
follows
URUGUAY v PORTUGAL, FRANCE v ARGENTINA to be played on 30th June
BELGIUM v JAPAN, BRAZIL v MEXICO to be played on 2nd
July
Croatia v
DENMARK, SPAIN v RUSSIA to be played on 1st July
COLUMBIA v ENGLAND, Sweden v Switzerland will
be played on 3rd July
