Day Thirteen

Our teams are playing their third and final game in the first round of the World Cup 2018. In Day Thirteen of the tournament in Group C, It has taken a total of 38 games before we saw our very first 0-0 draw and that went to the two top teams in this group DENMARK and FRANCE. Denmark have won one game and drawn two in this first round while France have won their first two games and drawn the third. In the other game Peru beat AUSTRALIA 2-0 to pick up their first points and their first goals of the tournament. Australia have lost two games and drew one. But they are both out of the World Cup. We now have two more of our teams are through to Round two. France finished top with 7 points while Denmark in second place end up with 5 points. Peru finished next with 3 points and last in the group, Australia with just 1 point.

In Group D, ARGENTINA needed to win their last game in this round against Nigeria and they just about did it with a late goal to win 2-1. Argentina have struggled through this stage of the World Cup as this is their first win of the tournament. They drew the first game and lost the second. Argentina are now on a total of 3 goals. In the other game Croatia won 2-1 against Iceland to win all three games. The group finished with Croatia first on maximum 9 points, Argentina second with 4 points and Nigeria third with 3 points. Iceland have finished last with 1 point.

We now know that we will have seven of our eighteen nations in the last sixteen round two, knock out stage. We also now know that Australia and Egypt are out of the tournament for us.
