Villa in Ten Goal Thriller

In the English Championship, ASTON VILLA had a ten goal thriller at home against NOTTINGHAM FOREST last night which ended in a 5-5 draw. Six of the goals came in the first half in the first 36 minutes and the score was 3-3 by half time. Both teams have picked up their highest result to date which gives Villa a total of 37 goals while Forest are now on 39 goals. IPSWICH have still not had any luck this season as they lost 3-2 at home to Bristol City. Ipswich have taken their goal tally up to 18 goals but they have lost ten of their nineteen league games this season. BIRMINGHAM won 2-0 away to Millwall and they are now on a total of 27 goals. STOKE are also on 27 goals as they win 2-1 at home against DERBY. Derby picked up goal number 38. WEST BROM won 2-1 away to SWANSEA and they are now on 44 goals to Swansea’s 21. BLACKBURN lost 3-1 away to Wigan and that was their 33rd goal of the season.

Cup and League Results

In the Carabao Cup fourth round, LEICESTER CITY are through to the next round after they drew 0-0 against Southampton after extra time. City went on to win 6-5 on penalties. That is Leicester’s third blank score sheet of the season and now just two goals in their last four games.

In the Scottish Betfred/League Cup third round replay, PETERHEAD are out after they lost 3-0 at home to Morton. Peterhead picked up their seventh blank score sheet.

In the English Championship, BRENTFORD lost 3-2 at home to Sheffield United but they have taken their goals total up to 36 goals. HULL drew 0-0 at home to Norwich and they have now had a total of nine blank score sheets and now two in a row. LEEDS UNITED are now on a total of 34 goals as they win 1-0 at home to Reading. Leeds have now scored in all of their last thirteen games. ROTHERHAM drew 2-2 at home to Queens Park Rangers and they are now on a total of 22 goals.

In League One, It’s 35 goals for WYCOMBE as they win 2-1 away to ACCRINGTON STANLEY. After a two game dry spell for goals, Accrington are now on 24 goals. It’s another single goal for BRISTOL ROVERS as they lost 2-1 at home to Gillingham. Rovers are now on a total of 22 goals. CHARLTON won 2-1 away to BURTON ALBION and they are now on 37 goals to Burton’s 33. COVENTRY picked up their sixth blank of the season after they lost 3-0 away to Fleetwood. LUTON won 4-0 at home against Bradford and they are now on a total of 41 goals and they have now scored a total of 14 goals in their last four games. ROCHDALE lost 4-2 away to Oxford Utd and they have taken their goals tally up to 32 goals. PETERBOROUGH won 1-0 at home against AFC Wimbledon and that is their 39th goal of the season. PORTSMOUTH won 2-0 at home to Walsall and they are now on 37 goals. SHREWSBURY are still putting them goals in as they win 2-0 at home to PLYMOUTH to take their goals total to 28 goals while Plymouth picked up blank number seven. SOUTHEND won 2-0 at home to SCUNTHORPE and they are now on a total of 34 goals as Scunthorpe picked up their sixth blank of the season. SUNDERLAND have extended their goal run as they win 4-2 at home to BARNSLEY. Sunderland are now on a goals tally of 41 goals while Barnsley are on 39.

In League Two, EXETER picked up their sixth blank score sheet of the season after they lost 1-0 at home to Macclesfield. MK DONS have now scored in all of their last sixteen games as they win 2-0 at home against Morecombe, The Dons are now on a total of 34 goals. NOTTS COUNTY drew 1-1 at home to Carlisle and they are now on 25 goals. LINCOLN CITY are now on 42 goals as they drew 1-1 away to OLDHAM who are now on a total of 28 goals. SWINDON won 3-2 at home to Stevenage and they are now on 25 goals.

Week Seventeen

In Week Seventeen of the competition and we had another Rollover with our winner picking up the full £12 in cash as he wins with a score of 11 goals. The player to win all the cash this weekend is MARK GREGORY who becomes our 17th winner of the season.
Mark has been with Golden Goals since the 2008/09 Season in where he finished in 49th place on a total of 251 goals. Last season he finished in 62nd place on 276 goals. This season we can see Mark back up to 35th place but his highest to date is 17th place in Week Three. His best team,like so many of you, is Manchester City. He has picked up a total of three blank score sheets at the weekends. His teams are

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Only one player picked up any goals in midweek from Oldham this week and they were TOM BAXTER. That takes his midweek total up to 16 goals. So the race for the cash has remained the same once again this week. 
GRAHAM HARRIS is still out in front and has extended his lead to a total of 42 goals as he picks up two goals from West Brom. He has Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom. In second place and now nine goals behind Graham, we have  JUNE TIGHE,  ANN WELLARD and JACQUI WILLIAMS all on 33 goals. In third place we have RYAN WILLIAMS on 32 goals. In fourth place we have DAVID SOMERVILLE with 31 goals.  In joint fifth place all on 30 goals we have CLIFF BAMBRIDGE, JAMES BLYTH, STEVEN STUBBS, SCOTT THOMSON (2) and TERRY WARWICK.

WEEKEND RESULTS
This weekend we were back to a full English league fixture plus the Scottish league and cup and what a weekend we had for goals.  We had a total of four teams without a game this weekend and another ten teams that failed to score any goals. But even after that, the average score was a fantastic 8 goals which is very high as most of you picked up a total of ten goals.
The highest score that we had was four goals and they came from three of our teams. They are ASTON VILLA, MANCHESTER CITY and STENHOUSEMUIR.

PREMIERSHIP
We have the top eight teams now in the prem with MANCHESTER CITY at the top after they won 4-0 away to WEST HAM. City are now on a total of 45 goals and they have now scored in all of their last six games. West Ham picked up their sixth blank of the season. LIVERPOOL are in second place as they win 3-0 away to Watford taking their goals tally up to 27 goals. TOTTENHAM are in third place as they win 3-1 at home against London rivals CHELSEA. While Tottenham take their goals total up to 28 goals, Chelsea now in fourth place hit goal number 33. In fifth place is ARSENAL who won 2-1 away to BOURNEMOUTH. Arsenal are also on 33 goals and they have now scored in all of their last fourteen games. Bournemouth picked up their 30th goal of the season. EVERTON are on 24 goals this weekend as they win 1-0 at home against Cardiff. LEICESTER CITY drew 1-1 away to Brighton and they are now on 22 goals while FULHAM after a four game dry spell for goals, are now on 19 as they win 3-2 at home to Southampton. MANCHESTER UNITED picked up their second blank of the season after a goal run of ten games as they drew 0-0 at home to Crystal Palace. WOLVES lost 2-0 at home to Huddersfield and that is their fifth blank score sheet of the season.

CHAMPIONSHIP
In the Championship, LEEDS UNITED are our highest team here in third place after they won 2-0 at home to Bristol City to take their goals total up to 33. West Brom are in fourth place with DERBY in sixth place after they won 2-1 away to Sheffield Wednesday. Derby are now on 37 goals. ASTON VILLA picked up their biggest result of the season to date after they won 4-2 at home to BIRMINGHAM CITY. BLACKBURN lost 4-1 away to Preston but that was their 32nd goal of the season.It’s 20 for ROTHERHAM as they drew 2-2 at home to Sheffield United. After a two game dry spell, STOKE are now on a total of 25 goals as they drew 2-2 at home against Queens Park Rangers. It’s 20 goals for SWANSEA but they went down 4-1 at home to Norwich.

LEAGUE ONE
We have the top six here this weekend as PORTSMOUTH have remained top this weekend as they win 2-1 away to SCUNTHORPE. Portsmouth are now on a total of 35 goals while Scunthorpe picked up goal number 32.  In second place is still SUNDERLAND again as they drew 2-2 away to Walsall. Sunderland are now on a total of 37 goals and they have now scored in all of their last seventeen games. BARNSLEY are still in third place after they drew 1-1 at home to Doncaster. Barnsley are now on 37 goals. LUTON are up to fourth place after they won 3-1 away to Gillingham. Luton are now on a total of 37 goals. Peterborough have fallen down to fifth place this weekend. CHARLTON are still in sixth place as they win 3-1 at home to BRISTOL ROVERS. Charlton are now on 35 goals while Rovers picked up goal number 21. SOUTHEND are on 32 goals after they lost 2-1 away to AFC Wimbledon. BURTON ALBION lost 3-0 away to Blackpool to pick up their third blank of the season. It’s 30 for ROCHDALE as they win 1-0 at home to ACCRINGTON STANLEY who picked up their fourth blank score sheet and now two in a row. WYCOMBE won 3-2 at home to SHREWSBURY and they are now on 33 goals to Shrewsbury's 26.

LEAGUE TWO
LINCOLN CITY are back on top on goal difference as they drew 1-1 at home to MANSFIELD. Lincoln are now on 41 goals while Mansfield are on 35 goals. MK DONS have moved down to second place this weekend after they lost 3-2 away to Stevenage. The Dons are now on a total of 32 goals. EXETER drew 1-1 away to Colchester and they are now on 32 goals. After a three game dry spell for goals, NOTTS COUNTY are on 24 goals after they drew 1-1 away to Morecombe. SWINDON won 1-0 away to Port Vale and they are now on 22 goals. OLDHAM drew 1-1 away to Tranmere and that is their 27th goal of the season.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Scottish Willimas Hill Cup third round we had seven of our Scottish teams in action over the weekend. DUMBARTON are out after they lost 3-0 away to Airdrie to pick up their sixth blank of the season. and now two in a row. ALLOA are through to the next round as they win 3-0 at home to Brechin. Alloa are now on a total of 22 goals. AYR UNITED will join them as they win 3-0 away to non-league Belth. Ayr are now on 43 goals. PETERHEAD drew their game 1-1 away to Morton to pick up goal number 28. RAITH ROVERS won 3-0 away to Queens Park and they have taken their goals total up to 36 goals. It’s 20 goals for STENHOUSEMUIR and a place in the next round after they beat FALKIRK 4-2 at home. Falkirk are now on a total of 14 goals.
In the Premiership, CELTIC are two point clear of rivals Rangers as they win 3-0 away to HAMILTON to take their goals tally up to 37. Hamilton picked up blank number nine and now two in a row. RANGERS in second place won 3-0 at home to Livingston and they are now on 42 goals. In third place is HEARTS lost 2-0 away to St Mirren and that is their sixth blank score sheet and now five in a row. ABERDEEN picked up their fourth blank score sheet as they lost 3-0 away to Motherwell. HIBERNIAN are on 26 goals as they drew 2-2 at home to bottom of the table Dundee.
In the Championship, ROSS COUNTY won 2-1 at home against Dunfermline and they are now on a total of 34 goals.

Our worst team is FALKIRK this weekend as they have picked up a total of ten blank score sheets out of nineteen league and cup games played this season. They have scored five goals in their last eight games.

Our biggest result in our 36th Season are now WEST HAM UNITED who won 8-0 at home against Macclesfield in the Carabao/League Cup Third Round in Week Nine.

JAMES SOMERVILLE is back on top on goal difference this weekend as he collects a total of ten goals all coming from the weekend. James has now been top for a total of two weeks over the season. His teams are Ayr Utd, Celtic, Manchester City. GARY BROWN has moved back down to second place on goal difference as he picked up a total of nine goals at the weekend from Ayr Utd, Manchester City and Sunderland. 
At the other end at 133 we still have John Filtness at the bottom for his eighth consecutive weekend as he picks up a total of five goals all coming from the weekend. He has now had eleven weeks at the bottom and he is now eleven goals adrift. His teams are  Birmingham, Hamilton and Liverpool.

West Brom Second in Championship

In the English Championship, WEST BROM have moved up to second place for now, as they beat bottom of the table IPSWICH 2-1 away. West Brom are now on a total of 42 goals while Ipswich picked up their 16th goal of the season.
In League One, COVENTRY drew 1-1 at home to PETERBOROUGH and that is their 23rd goal to Boroughs 38.

Shrewsbury Stay in Cup

The last games in the FA Cup first round replays have now been played and we had another two of our teams in action. SHREWSBURY have made it through to the second round after they beat non-league Salford 3-1 away. Shrewsbury are now on a total of 24 goals. BRISTOL ROVES go out after they lost 2-1 at home to non-league Barnet. The single goal was Rovers 20th goal of the season. The second round games will be played on the Saturday the 1st December and Sunday the 2nd December.

FA Cup First Round Replays

In the FA Cup first round replays, we have had another two of our teams through to the second round. With their biggest result of the season, CHARLTON go through to the next round after they won 5-0 at home to MANSFIELD. Charlton have now scored a total of ten goals in their last four games and they are now o a total of 32 goals. Mansfield picked up their fourth blank of the season after a goal run of seven games. SOUTHEND picked up the highest score of the night when they beat Crawley 6-2 away after extra time (2-2 at full time). Southend with their biggest result of the season take their goals tally up to 31 goals.

In the Scottish Championship ALLOA lost 4-2 away to Dundee United and they are now on a total of 19 goals.

Week Sixteen

In Week Sixteen of the competition, we had just forty three players that picked up any goals this weekend as the International games get in the way once again.  Five of them picked up the highest score of five goals from Luton Town. With a full league fixture for next weekend, we will have another Rollover with the winner picking up £12 in cash.

Due to the International games this week, there has not been that much football for us. Out of the twenty-five of our teams from the lower leagues this weekend, six failed to pick up any goals in their games. So the average score for this weekend was a fat ZERO.
The highest score that we had was five goals and they came from the English League One where LUTON TOWN won 5-1 at home against PLYMOUTH. With their biggest result of the season, Luton are now on a total of 34 goals while Plymouth picked up their 23rd goal of the season.

LEAGUE ONE
Portsmouth have remained top this weekend as they even though they had no game this week. In second place is SUNDERLAND again as they drew 1-1 at home to WYCOMBE. Sunderland are now on a total of 35 goals and they have now scored in all of their last sixteen games. Wycombe scored goal number 30. BARNSLEY are now in third place after they won 2-0 away to ACCRINGTON STANLEY. Barnsley are now on a total of 36 goals while Accrington picked up their third blank score sheet of the season. PETERBOROUGH drew 1-1 at home to Bradford and they are now on a total of 37 goals but fall down to fourth place this week. Luton are in fifth place with Charlton in sixth. SHREWSBURY won 3-2 at home to ROCHDALE and they are now on a total of 21 goals to Rochdales 29. SOUTHEND lost 2-1 at home to Blackpool and that is their 25th goal of the season.

LEAGUE TWO
MK DONS have moved to the top of the league this weekend after they won 2-0 at home to Macclesfield. The Dons are now on a total of 30 goals. Lincoln City are down to second place after their game was cancelled. MANSFIELD have moved up to fifth place after they won 1-0 at home to Port Vale. Mansfield are now on a total of 34 goals. EXETER are down to sixth place after they drew 2-2 at home to Northampton. Exeter are now on a total of 31 goals. OLDHAM won 3-1 at home to Cambridge Utd and they are now on 26 goals. SWINDON lost 4-0 at home to Carlisle and that is their eighth blank of the season and now just four goals in their last seven games. NOTTS COUNTY are now second from bottom after they lost 3-0 at home to Cheltenham. County have now had a total of seven blank score sheets and now three in a row.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
We had just five of our Scottish teams in action over the weekend. In the Championship, AYR UNITED are still top this weekend after they drew 0-0 at home to Morton. Ayr picked up their fourth blank of the season.  FALKIRK drew 1-1 at home to Partick to pick up goal number twelve but they are still rock bottom two points behind Partick.
In League One, RAITH ROVERS are still in second place after they won 3-1 away to STENHOUSEMUIR in bottom place. Rovers have taken their goals total to 33 and they have now scored in all of their last fourteen games. Stenhousemuir are now on a total of 16 goals. DUMBARTON are now second from bottom after they lost 3-0 away to Forfar. That is their fifth blank of the season.

COLIN WEBB has moved in to second place on goal difference as he picked up a single goal from Sunderland. His other teams are Manchester City and Rangers.
At the other end at 133 we still have John Filtness at the bottom for his seventh consecutive weekend as none of his combination were in action over the week. He has now had ten weeks at the bottom and he is still ten goals adrift. His teams are  Birmingham, Hamilton and Liverpool.

FA Cup First Round


In the very last game of the First Round, OLDHAM have become our twelfth team to go into the second round of the FA Cup as they beat non-league Hampton & Richmond 2-1 away.  Oldham have now taken their goals tally to 23 goals.

Week Fifteen

In Week Fifteen of the competition, we had four winners this weekend to share the £6 Weekend Jackpot on  a score of 12 goals each.  Our winners are TONY KING, ANTHONY PIRES, SORAN SEYEDI and COLIN WEBB.  Three are first time winners this season which now takes our winners total up to sixteen while the other winner picks up his second win of the season.. That player is Colin who won £6 back in Week Eight with fourteen goals. Since then Colin has picked up just one blank score sheet at the weekend and has been as high as third place in Week Twelve.
Tony has been with the competition for the whole of our 36 Seasons and in that first season he finished in third place on a total of 295 goals taking home £6 in prize money. Last season he finished in 144th place on 210 goals. This season with his highest score to date, Tony has been as high as fourteen in the first two weeks of football.
Anthony is in his second season with us and last season he finished in 127th place on a total of 240 goals. With his first win with Golden Goals, Anthony has been as high as eighth place in Week two but he has had two blank score sheets to date.
Soran is also in his second season with us and last season he finished in 35th place on a total of 288 goals. This season he has picked up his personal best score and he has also had two blank score sheets. His highest position is fifteenth place in Week Nine. Our winners teams are

We had another fairly good weekend for goals as this weekends average score moved down from nine goals from last weekend back to 5 this weekend. We had three of our teams with out a game over the weekend and another fourteen teams that failed to score any goals.
The highest score that we had was seven goals and they came from the Scottish Premiership where RANGERS won 7-1 at home to Motherwell. With their biggest result of the season, Rangers are now on a total of 39 goals and they have now moved up to third place in the league.

FA CUP First Round
We had a total of twenty-two of our Golden Goals teams in action in this first round and only eleven have made it through to the next round. Five have replays while six go out.
Teams through to round two are SUNDERLAND after they won 2-1 away to Port Vale and they are now on a total of 34 goals and they have now scored in all of their last fifteen games. ACCRINGTON STANLEY have also made it through as they win 1-0 at home against Colchester. Accrington are now on a total of 23 goals. BARNSLEY won 4-0 at home to NOTTS COUNTY. Barnsley have taken their goals tally up to 34 while County have now had a total of six blank score sheets to date. PETERTBOROUGH won 3-1 away to non-league Bromley and they are now on a total of 36 goals. LINCOLN CITY won 3-2 at home to Northampton and they are now on 40 goals. LUTON will be join them as they won 2-0 at home to WYCOMBE. Luton take their goals total up to 29 while Wycombe picked up their fifth blank of the season. PORTSMOUTH won 4-0 away to non-league Maidstone and they are now on a total of 33 goals. We now have the top five teams in this league with MANCHESTER CITY keeping their top spot as they won 3-1 at home to MANCHESTER UNITED in the local derby. City have taken their total of goals to 41 while United hit goal number 22. LIVERPOOL have moved back up to second place after they won 2-0 at home to FULHAM. Liverpool are now on a total of 24 goals while Fulham picked up their seventh blank score sheet and now four in a row. CHELSEA are down to third place after they drew 0-0 at home to EVERTON in fifth place. Both Chelsea and Everton have picked up their second blank of the season. ARSENAL are in fourth place as they drew 1-1 at home to WOLVES. Arsenal are now on a total of 31 goals and they have now scored in all of their last thirteen games. Wolves picked up goal number 14. TOTTENHAM won 1-0 away to Cardiff and they are now on a total of 25 goals. WEST HAM are now on 26 goals as they drew 1-1 away to Huddersfield. LEICESTER CITY picked up their second blank of the season after they drew 0-0 at home to Burnley. BOURNEMOUTH lost 2-1 away to Newcastle and that takes their goals total to 29.

CHAMPIONSHIP
In this all changing league LEEDS UNITED have moved back down to third place after they lost 4-1 away to WEST BROM. Leeds are on 31 goals and have scored in all of their last eleven games. West Brom are now on a total of 40 goals and in fifth place. DERBY are now down to sixth place after they lost 3-0 at home to ASTON VILLA. As Derby picked up their fourth blank of the season, Villa are now on a total of 28 goals. BIRMINGHAM drew 3-3 at home to HULL and they are now on a total of 23 goals while Hull are on 17 goals. BLACKBURN drew 1-1 at home to ROTHERHAM and they are now on 31 goals to Rotherhams 18. SWANSEA are on 19 goals as they win 1-0 away to Bolton. NOTTINGHAM FOREST drew 0-0 at home to STOKE and that is their second blank of the season while Stoke picked up their fourth and now two in a row. BRENTFORD lost 3-2 away to Queens Park Rangers and they are now on 33 goals. IPSWICH are still rock bottom as they drew 2-2 away to Reading. Ipswich are now on a total of 15 goals. 

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Premiership, CELTIC are top this weekend but on goal difference after they drew 0-0 away to Livingston and that is their third blank of the season. HEARTS are down to second place after they lost 1-0 at home to Kilmarnock to pick up their fifth blank of the season. Hearts have now failed to score in their last four games.   Rangers have remained in third place after their win against Motherwell. HAMILTON lost 4-0 away to St Johnstone and that is their eighth blank score sheet.
In the Championship, AYR UNITED are still top this weekend after they drew 1-1 at home to Queen of South. Ayr are on 40 goals. ROSS COUNTY are still in second place after they lost 1-0 at home to Dundee Utd to pick up their third blank of the season after a goal run of six games. After a run of three blank score sheets, ALLOA won 2-0 away to Morton and they are now on a total of 17 goals. FALKIRK won their second league game of the season with a 1-0 win against Dunfermline away. Falkirk are now on 11 goals and just two goals in their last six games.
In League One, RAITH ROVERS are in second place after they lost 2-1 away to East Fife. Rovers  take their goals total to 30 and they have now scored in all of their last thirteen games. DUMBARTON beat STENHOUSEMUIR 2-1 at home to give them a total of 22 goals while Stenhousemuir picked up goal number 15.
In League Two, PETERHEAD are down to second place this weekend as they lost 2-0 away to Queens Park to pick up their sixth blank of the season.

Her teams are Celtic, Manchester City and West Brom. JAMES SOMERVILLE has moved down to second place on goal difference as he picked up a total of four goals at the weekend. His teams are Ayr United, Celtic and Manchester City.  
At the other end at 133 we still have John Filtness at the bottom for his sixth consecutive weekend as he picks up a total of five goals all coming from the weekend. He has now had nine weeks at the bottom and he is now ten goals adrift. His teams are  Birmingham, Hamilton and Liverpool.
