Week Fifteen

In Week Fifteen of the competition, we had four winners this weekend to share the £6 Weekend Jackpot on  a score of 12 goals each.  Our winners are TONY KING, ANTHONY PIRES, SORAN SEYEDI and COLIN WEBB.  Three are first time winners this season which now takes our winners total up to sixteen while the other winner picks up his second win of the season.. That player is Colin who won £6 back in Week Eight with fourteen goals. Since then Colin has picked up just one blank score sheet at the weekend and has been as high as third place in Week Twelve.
Tony has been with the competition for the whole of our 36 Seasons and in that first season he finished in third place on a total of 295 goals taking home £6 in prize money. Last season he finished in 144th place on 210 goals. This season with his highest score to date, Tony has been as high as fourteen in the first two weeks of football.
Anthony is in his second season with us and last season he finished in 127th place on a total of 240 goals. With his first win with Golden Goals, Anthony has been as high as eighth place in Week two but he has had two blank score sheets to date.
Soran is also in his second season with us and last season he finished in 35th place on a total of 288 goals. This season he has picked up his personal best score and he has also had two blank score sheets. His highest position is fifteenth place in Week Nine. Our winners teams are

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Only six of you picked up any goals in midweek and we had five players that picked up the highest amount of goals with two each. So the race for the cash has remained the same as last weeks runners.
GRAHAM HARRIS is still out in front with a total of 40 goals. He has Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom. In second place and only seven goals behind Graham, we have  JUNE TIGHE, ANN WELLARD and JACQUI WILLIAMS all on 33 goals. In third place we have RYAN WILLIAMS on 32 goals. In fourth place we have DAVID SOMERVILLE with 31 goals.  In joint fifth place all on 30 goals we have CLIFF BAMBRIDGE, JAMES BLYTH, STEVEN STUBBS, SCOTT THOMSON (2) and TERRY WARWICK.

WEEKEND RESULTS
We had another fairly good weekend for goals as this weekends average score moved down from nine goals from last weekend back to 5 this weekend. We had three of our teams with out a game over the weekend and another fourteen teams that failed to score any goals.
The highest score that we had was seven goals and they came from the Scottish Premiership where RANGERS won 7-1 at home to Motherwell. With their biggest result of the season, Rangers are now on a total of 39 goals and they have now moved up to third place in the league.

FA CUP First Round
We had a total of twenty-two of our Golden Goals teams in action in this first round and only eleven have made it through to the next round. Five have replays while six go out.
Teams through to round two are SUNDERLAND after they won 2-1 away to Port Vale and they are now on a total of 34 goals and they have now scored in all of their last fifteen games. ACCRINGTON STANLEY have also made it through as they win 1-0 at home against Colchester. Accrington are now on a total of 23 goals. BARNSLEY won 4-0 at home to NOTTS COUNTY. Barnsley have taken their goals tally up to 34 while County have now had a total of six blank score sheets to date. PETERTBOROUGH won 3-1 away to non-league Bromley and they are now on a total of 36 goals. LINCOLN CITY won 3-2 at home to Northampton and they are now on 40 goals. LUTON will be join them as they won 2-0 at home to WYCOMBE. Luton take their goals total up to 29 while Wycombe picked up their fifth blank of the season. PORTSMOUTH won 4-0 away to non-league Maidstone and they are now on a total of 33 goals. PLYMOUTH won 1-0 at home to Sevenage and that is their 22nd goal of the season. ROCHDALE are on 27 goals as they win 2-1 at home to non-league Gateshead. SCUNTHORPE won 2-1 at home to BURTON ALBION and they are now on 29 goals while Albion hit goal number 31 and they have now scored in all of their last nine games. SWINDON won 2-1 at home to non-league York and they are now on a total of 21 goals.
In replays we have BRISTOL ROVERS who drew 1-1 away to non-league Barnet and that is their 18th goal of the season. SHREWSBURY drew 1-1 at home to non-league Salford City to pick up goal number 18. CHARLTON drew 1-1 away to MANSFIELD to pick up goal number 27 to Mansfields 33. SOUTHEND after a two game dry spell for goals, picked up goal number 24 as they drew 1-1 at home to Crawley.
Other teams that are out of the FA Cup are EXETER who lost 3-2 at home to Blackpool and they are now on a total of 29 goals while MK DONS lost 3-1 away to Grimsby and they are now on 28 goals. COVENTRY lost 3-2 away to Walsall and they are now on 22 goals.

PREMIERSHIP
We now have the top five teams in this league with MANCHESTER CITY keeping their top spot as they won 3-1 at home to MANCHESTER UNITED in the local derby. City have taken their total of goals to 41 while United hit goal number 22. LIVERPOOL have moved back up to second place after they won 2-0 at home to FULHAM. Liverpool are now on a total of 24 goals while Fulham picked up their seventh blank score sheet and now four in a row. CHELSEA are down to third place after they drew 0-0 at home to EVERTON in fifth place. Both Chelsea and Everton have picked up their second blank of the season. ARSENAL are in fourth place as they drew 1-1 at home to WOLVES. Arsenal are now on a total of 31 goals and they have now scored in all of their last thirteen games. Wolves picked up goal number 14. TOTTENHAM won 1-0 away to Cardiff and they are now on a total of 25 goals. WEST HAM are now on 26 goals as they drew 1-1 away to Huddersfield. LEICESTER CITY picked up their second blank of the season after they drew 0-0 at home to Burnley. BOURNEMOUTH lost 2-1 away to Newcastle and that takes their goals total to 29.

CHAMPIONSHIP
In this all changing league LEEDS UNITED have moved back down to third place after they lost 4-1 away to WEST BROM. Leeds are on 31 goals and have scored in all of their last eleven games. West Brom are now on a total of 40 goals and in fifth place. DERBY are now down to sixth place after they lost 3-0 at home to ASTON VILLA. As Derby picked up their fourth blank of the season, Villa are now on a total of 28 goals. BIRMINGHAM drew 3-3 at home to HULL and they are now on a total of 23 goals while Hull are on 17 goals. BLACKBURN drew 1-1 at home to ROTHERHAM and they are now on 31 goals to Rotherhams 18. SWANSEA are on 19 goals as they win 1-0 away to Bolton. NOTTINGHAM FOREST drew 0-0 at home to STOKE and that is their second blank of the season while Stoke picked up their fourth and now two in a row. BRENTFORD lost 3-2 away to Queens Park Rangers and they are now on 33 goals. IPSWICH are still rock bottom as they drew 2-2 away to Reading. Ipswich are now on a total of 15 goals. 

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Premiership, CELTIC are top this weekend but on goal difference after they drew 0-0 away to Livingston and that is their third blank of the season. HEARTS are down to second place after they lost 1-0 at home to Kilmarnock to pick up their fifth blank of the season. Hearts have now failed to score in their last four games.   Rangers have remained in third place after their win against Motherwell. HAMILTON lost 4-0 away to St Johnstone and that is their eighth blank score sheet.
In the Championship, AYR UNITED are still top this weekend after they drew 1-1 at home to Queen of South. Ayr are on 40 goals. ROSS COUNTY are still in second place after they lost 1-0 at home to Dundee Utd to pick up their third blank of the season after a goal run of six games. After a run of three blank score sheets, ALLOA won 2-0 away to Morton and they are now on a total of 17 goals. FALKIRK won their second league game of the season with a 1-0 win against Dunfermline away. Falkirk are now on 11 goals and just two goals in their last six games.
In League One, RAITH ROVERS are in second place after they lost 2-1 away to East Fife. Rovers  take their goals total to 30 and they have now scored in all of their last thirteen games. DUMBARTON beat STENHOUSEMUIR 2-1 at home to give them a total of 22 goals while Stenhousemuir picked up goal number 15.
In League Two, PETERHEAD are down to second place this weekend as they lost 2-0 away to Queens Park to pick up their sixth blank of the season.

Our Best teams this week are SUNDERLAND after they have scored in all of their last fifteen League and Cup games out of eighteen played. They have a total of 34 goals.

Our worst team is FALKIRK this weekend as they have picked up a total of ten blank score sheets out of seventeen league and cup games played this season. They have scored just two goal in their last six games.

Our biggest result in our 36th Season are now WEST HAM UNITED who won 8-0 at home against Macclesfield in the Carabao/League Cup Third Round in Week Nine

We have another new leader this weekend and it’s KELLIE STRATTON who becomes our fourth player to go top this weekend and our first lady of the season.  Kellie has picked up a total of  seven goals at the weekend. Her teams are Celtic, Manchester City and West Brom. JAMES SOMERVILLE has moved down to second place on goal difference as he picked up a total of four goals at the weekend. His teams are Ayr United, Celtic and Manchester City.  
At the other end at 133 we still have John Filtness at the bottom for his sixth consecutive weekend as he picks up a total of five goals all coming from the weekend. He has now had nine weeks at the bottom and he is now ten goals adrift. His teams are  Birmingham, Hamilton and Liverpool.
