Week Forty-Two

In Week Forty-Two of the competition we have now had two minute of  injury time with the very last full league fixture for our Scottish Premiership teams. All but eight of us managed to pick up some goals this weekend.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
We still have five players that have now reached 100 Midweek goals this week. GRAHAM HARRIS is on a total of 109 goals. His combination is Hearts, Tottenham and West Brom. John Davies and Adam Sansom are still both in second place with 107 goals. In third place is now June Tighe with 105 goals moving up from four. Kellie Stratton has moved back down to fourth place on a total of 104 goals. In fifth place we still have Toby Bicknell on 99 goals.

WEEKEND RESULTS
We had only had eight of our teams in action over weekend with only one of them failing to score any goals. In the last full Scottish Premiership games this weekend and we did fairly well again from our teams.

FA CUP FINAL
We had just one of our teams in the FA Cup final and they were our top team MANCHESTER CITY. Their opponents were Watford who have gone off form in their last four games. So Manchester  City were favourites to win the cup and they did not let the City supports down. I was unable to see the first half of the game where City went in at half time 2-0 up against Watford. The goals came in the 26th minute by Silva and then Gabriel Jesus in the 38th minute.
In the second half  Watford came out fighting and they gave City a couple of heart stopping moments, but that all finished when De Bruyne scored in the 61st minute of  play. Watford then gave way to the pressure that City were throwing at them and Gabriel Jesus scored his second in the 68th minute. Stirling then scored two goals in the 81st and 87th minutes and Watford were done. City could of scored more but a 6-0 win in the FA Cup is the biggest result that we have not seen since Bury beat Derby 6-0 in the 1903 Cup Final. City have now won the cup for the sixth time and they have done the domestic treble and that has not been done since Chelsea in the 2009/10 Season. The six goals now gives City a fantastic total of 137 goals which matches their biggest score in the 2013/14 Season, they could of scored more this season when you look at some of their results.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Scottish Premiership, the very last games for them as Champions CELTIC won 2-1 at home against HEARTS to take their goals total nearer to that 100 goals with 98. Hearts are on 71 goals. RANGERS in second place lost 2-1 away to Kilmarnock who finished in third place in the league. Rangers end their season on 98 goals. HAMILTON won 2-0 at home to St Johnstone and they end the season on a total of 33 goals. After a two game dry spell for goals, HIBERNIAN lost 2-1 at home to ABERDEEN to end the season on 61 goals. Aberdeen finished on a total of 74 goals and remained in fourth place in the league.

In the Championship – Play-Off  Final 2nd Leg, RAITH ROVERS drew their second leg game 0-0 away to Queen of South and so they lost 3-1 on aggregate. Rovers after a goal run of fourteen games, picked up their fourth blank of the season.

Our BEST three teams this week with Golden Goals are

MANCHESTER CITY (137) RANGERS (98) CELTIC (98) Total of 333 goals

OUR WORST THREE TEAMS ARE

HAMILTON (33) IPSWICH (37) FULHAM (40) Total of 110 goals

Our Best team finished the season as  MANCHESTER CITY after they had scored  in all of their last fourteen League and Cup games played.

Our worst team this week is HAMILTON as they have picked up a total of twenty-two blank score sheets out of forty-three League and Cup games played this season.

Our biggest result in our 36th Season comes from MANCHESTER CITY as they win 9-0 at home against league one BURTON ALBION in the Carabao/League Cup semi-final first leg tie in Week Twenty-Four.

KELLIE STRATTON is back on top this weekend and she could be this seasons Champion as she picks up a total of nine goals for the week. Kellie has Celtic, Manchester City and West Brom. She has now been at the top for a total of eight weekends over the season. Kellie has also moved up the Champions League to 7th place and has now beaten our 1985/86 Champion Ian Sweeney’s score of 325 goals and our very first Champion in Golden Goals, Pete Christopher’s score of 327 goals. Bob Swayer has dropped down to second place after picking up a total of eight goals all coming from the weekend. Bob team still in play are Celtic as Luton and Manchester City have now finished their season.
At the other end at 133 we still have John Filtness at the bottom for a total of thirty-three consecutive weekends as he picks up a total of two goals all coming from the weekend. He has now had thirty-six weeks at the bottom but he is now twelve goals adrift  this weekend. His teams are Birmingham, Hamilton and Liverpool. John has made more progress in our Loser’s League as he has beaten the score of 187 from John Wood’s Ziggy Teams in the 2011/12 Season. John has made it into the top ten this week in tenth place.

Here is how our top ten looks this weekend and could we be seeing our 36th Champion?
