Bournemouth Second on Goal Difference

In the Championship, BOURNEMOUTH could of gone back on top if they had beaten PETERBOROUGH but they could only get a draw 0-0 away.  Bournemouth have now had three blank score sheets to Boroughs six and now two games in a row. FULHAM are up to third place as they win 3-1 at home to SWANSEA. Fulham are now on a total of 24 goals while Swansea are on 16. BARNSLEY lost 3-1 at home to NOTTINGHAM FOREST and are on a total of 7 goals. Forest are now on a total of 13 goals. DERBY won 1-0 at home to READING and that is goal number 11 for them while reading picked up their third blank of the season.

West Brom and Sunderland go Top after Big Wins

We had another great night for goals here at Golden Goals and we seem to scoring more goals in midweek than at the weekend at the moment.

In the Championship, WEST BROM have moved to the top as they win 4-0 away to CARDIFF. West Brom are now on a total of 20 goals while Cardiff picked up their fourth blank of the season and now just one goal in their last four games. HULL drew 1-1 at home to Blackpool and that is their 7th goal of the season. SHEFFIELD UNITED lost 2-0 away to Middlesbrough and that is their fifth blank score sheet. PRESTON drew 1-1 at home to Stoke and they are on a total of 21 goals.

In League One. SUNDERLAND have moved to the top after they picked up their biggest result of the season after they won 5-0 at home to Cheltenham. Sunderland are now on a total of 25 goals and they have now scored in all of their last eight games. WIGAN have dropped down to second place after they lost 2-1 at home to SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY. Wigan are on a total of 16 goals while Wednesday are now on 11 goals. BURTON ALBION won 2-1 at home to PORTSMOUTH and they are on a total of 10 goals while Portsmouth are on 11. BOLTON won 4-1 away to CHARLTON. Bolton after a tow game dry spell for goals, are now on a total of 18 goals. Charlton are on 10 goals and have now scored in all of their last six games. IPSWICH won 6-0 at home to Doncaster and with their biggest win of the season they are now on a total of 18 goals. Ipswich have now scored in all of their last eight games. LINCOLN CITY lost 2-0 away to Morecambe and that is Lincolns fourth blank of the season. OXFORD UNITED won 5-1 at home to Accrington and have now taken their goals tally to 16 goals after their biggest win to date. It’s 20 goals for PLYMOUTH after they drew 1-1 at home to Crewe. ROTHERHAM won 3-0 at home to AFC Wimbledon and with their biggest win of the season are now on a total of 15 goals. WYCOMBE won 2-1 away to Shrewsbury and they are now on a total of 15 goals.

Week Eight

Here in Week Eight of the competition we had another two winners to share this weekends jackpot of £5. They are LUCIFER (John Wood) and CHRIS SETFORD which now gives us a total of ten players that have won this season. Our winners won on a total of just 7 goals each which is the lowest to win on so far. Both Chris and Lucifer have been with Golden Goals for a long time now and I thank them for their support over the years. Chris finished in 38th place last season and with a total of 265 goals. He also had a share in the 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot. This season Chris has picked up two blank score sheets at the weekend and this weekend’s score is his personal best. This is also his highest position to date. His best team is Rangers. Lucifer (John Wood) finished in 112th place with a total of 194 goals last season. This season he has picked up just one blank score sheet over the season.  This is also his highest amount of goals although it’s his third time this season for picking up seven goals. 8th is the highest that Ziggy has been and that was in Week One. All but 3 players have picked up some midweek goals this week with five picking up the highest score with eleven goals each. The race for the cash has changed from last week again. In the lead this week we still have GEOFF CARTHY now with a total of 29 goals. In second place we still have PETER PORTER now with a total of 28 goals. In third place RICKY WOOD our 2007/08 Champion, has remained there with BOB SOPER joining him from four last week. Both are on a total of 27 goals. In fourth place we still have COLIN WEBB but he is now joined with JOHN FILTNESS both with a total of 26 goals. In fifth place we have LUCIFER down from four and with SCOTT THOMSON (1), and EMMA SAWYER both up from sixth place. ANN WELLARD joins them and they are all on a total of 24 goals. 

WEEKEND RESULTS 

We had all but five of our teams in action this weekend and out of them twelve of them failed to score any goals. Once again is was not a very high scoring weekend as this weekend as the average score remained at  just 4 goals this weekend. The Highest score over the weekend was four goals again and they came from SUTTON UNITED. They won 4-0 at home to CARLISLE. That is Sutons biggest result of the season and that has taken their goal tally up to 12. Carlisle picked up their fourth blank of the season. 

PREMIER LEAGUE 

LIVERPOOL are now top of the league after they drew 3-3 away to BRENTFORD. Liverpool have extended their goal run to seven games and they now have a total of 18 goals. Brentford have had a great week for goals. They are now also on a total of 18 goals. MANCHESTER CITY have moved into second place after they beat CHELSEA 1-0 away. City are on a total of 18 goals while Chelsea picked up their first blank of the season after a goal run of six games and drop down to third place. MANCHESTER UNITED drop down to fourth place this week after they lost 1-0 at home to ASTON VILLA. United picked up their second blank score sheet and two in a row. Villa picked up goal number 16. WEST HAM won 2-1 away to Leeds and they are on a total of 14 goals. LEICESTER CITY picked up another two goals in their 2-2 draw at home to Burnley. Leicester are on 9 goals. WATFORD are also on 9 goals as they drew 1-1 at home to Newcastle. Things have certainly changed for ARSENAL as they win 3-1 at home to London rivals TOTTENHAM. Arsenal are now on a total of 14 goals while Tottenham picked up goal number 6. WOLVES won 1-0 away to Southampton and they are on a total of 9 goals. 

CHAMPIONSHIP 

BOURNEMOUTH are still top here after they won 2-1 at home against Luton. Bournemouth are on 21 goals. Two points behind Bournemouth are now West Brom with FULHAM now in fourth place. They drew 1-1 away to Bristol City and they are on a total of 21 goals. After their cup win in midweek, PRESTON drew 0-0 away to Birmingham City. Preston have now had three blank score sheets. CARDIFF lost 5-1 away to Blackburn and they are on 12 goals after a two game dry spell for goals. BARNSLEY lost 1-0 away to Blackpool and that is their fifth blank and now two in a row. Its ten for NOTTINGHAM FOREST after they drew 1-1 at home to Millwall. READING won 1-0 at home to Middlesbrough and they are on 16 goals. SHEFFIELD UNITED won 1-0 at home to DERBY and they are on 16 goals while Derby, bottom of the league, picked up their fourth blank of the season. HULL are now second from bottom as they lost 2-0 away to Stoke. Hull have now had a total of seven blank score sheets and now just one goal in their last eight games. SWANSEA won 1-0 at home to Huddersfield and that is goal number 15 for them. 

LEAGUE ONE 

WIGAN are still top here this weekend after they won 2-0 at home against Cheltenham. Wigan are on 15 goals. SUNDERLAND are still in second place as they win 1-0 at home to BOLTON.  Sunderland are on a total of 20 goals and they have now scored in all of their last seven games. Bolton picked up their sixth blank and now two games in a row without a goal. BURTON ALBION lost 2-1 at home to LINCOLN CITY and they are on 8 goals while Lincoln are on 14 goals. CHARLTON drew 2-2 at home to PORTSMOUTH and they are on 9 goals while Portsmouth are on 10. IPSWICH drew1-1 at home to SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY and they on 12 goals to Wednesday’s 9. WYCOMBE lost 1-0 away to MK Dons and that is their third blank of the season. After two games with out a goal, OXFORD UNITED are now on 11 goals as they drew 1-1 at home to Gillingham. PLYMOUTH have extended their goal run to ten games this week as they win 2-1 at home to Doncaster. Plymouth are on a total of 19 goals. ROTHERHAM drew 1-1 at home to Crewe and they are on 12 goals.

The highest team that we have here is EXETER CITY now down to sixth place. They drew 1-1 away to Hartlepool and they are on a total of 12 goals. STEVENAGE drew 0-0 away to Harrogate and that is their third blank and now two in  a row. SALFORD CITY drew 2-2 at home to Northampton and they are now on a total of 12 goals. SCUNTHORPE are now second from bottom after they lost 1-0 at home to Port Vale. That is Scunthorpe's fifth blank of the season. SWINDON drew 0-0 at home to Colchester and that is their third blank score sheet.

HEARTS are still in third place after they win 3-0 at home to Livingston. Hearts are on a total of 22 goals. CELTIC drew 1-1 at home to Dundee Utd and they are on a total of 23 goals. After a two game dry spell for goals,  ABERDEEN lost 3-2 away to St Mirren and they are on a total of 9 goals. 

In League Two, KELTY HEARTS remain in top position as they win 1-0 at home to Stranraer.. Kelty are on a total of 25 goals and they have scored in all of their last eight games. STENHOUSEMUIR lost 2-1 at home to Elgin City and that is their 12th goal of the season. 

Our on-form team is PLYMOUTH after scoring in all of their last ten League/Cup games with a total of 19 goals. 

Our worst team this week are still HULL after they have picked up seven blank score sheets out of ten games played. 

Our highest goal scorers in our 39th Season are now BRENTFORD who won 7-0 at home to Oldham in the third round of the Carabao/League Cup in Week Eight. 

CHRIS BOLBERY is in his sixth consecutive weekend at the top and now seven weeks over the season. Chris picked up a total of nine goals for the week. He’s teams are Bournemouth, Celtic and Sunderland. Chris is just two goals in front of second place Guy Dowsett (2) who picked up a total of ten goals this week. Guy has Kelty Hearts, Liverpool and Rangers. 

At the other end at 113 we have ZIGGY (John Wood) again this weekend which is now his fourth weekend at the bottom. Ziggy has now been there the longest this season after picking up just one goal at the weekend. His combo is Crystal Palace, Scunthorpe and Stenhousemuir.

WEST BROM Top of Championship

In the Championship WEST BROM are joint top as they win 2-1 at home against QPR. West Brom are on a total of 16 goals. PETERBOROUGH lost 3-0 away to Coventry and that is their fifth blank score sheet. 

In the Scottish Championship KILMARNOCK drew 0-0 away to Arbroath and they have now had a total of three blank score sheets. 

Scottish League Cup Quarter-Finals

In the Scottish League Cup CELTIC are our second team to make it through to the semi-finals as they win 3-0 at home against Raith Rovers in the quarter-finals. Celtic are now on a total of 22 goals.

The Semi-Finals will be played on the 20th November with Celtic at home to St Johnston and Rangers will be home to Hibernian.

Carabao/League Cup Third Round Part Two

 

In the Carabao/League Cup third round part two, we had another ten of our teams in action. Out of them five have made it through to the next round. They are BRIGHTON as they win 2-0 at home to SWANSEA. Brighton are on a total of 11 goals as Swansea picked up their fourth blank of the season. ARSENAL won 3-0 at home to AFC Wimbledon and they are now on a total of 11 goals. CHELSEA drew 1-1 at home to ASTON VILLA and then won 4-3 on penalties. Chelsea are on 13 goals and a goal run of six games while Villa picked up goal number 15. MANCHESTER UNITED are out of the cup as they lost 1-0 at home to WEST HAM. That is United’s first blank of the season as West Ham chalk up goal number 12. LEICESTER CITY won 2-0 away to Millwall and they are on a total of 7 goals. After two games without a goal, TOTTENHAM picked up their highest result of the season as they drew 2-2 away to WOLVES. Tottenham are on a total of 5 goals while Wolves are on 8 goals. 

In the Scottish League Cup quarter-finals RANGERS are through to the semi-finals after they won 2-0 at home to Livingston. Rangers are on a total of 18 goals and they have now scored in all of their last six games.

Carabao/League Cup Third Round Part One

 

We had a fantastic night here at Golden Goals in the third round of the League Cup. We had a total of ten of our teams in action in the first batch to be played. Out of them only five have made it through to the next round. Do not forget that there are no replays or extra time this season. Teams through are BRENTFORD who won 7-0 at home to Oldham. This is their and our highest result of the season. Brentford are now on a total of 15 goals. The next biggest score and their personal best this season came from MANCHESTER CITY as they won 6-1 at home to WYCOMBE. City have taken their goals tally up to 17 goals. LIVERPOOL have extended their goal run to six games as they win 3-0 away to Norwich. Liverpool are now on a total of 15 goals. Its 20 goals for PRESTON and a place in the next round after they won 4-1 at home to Cheltenham. SUNDERLAND won 2-0 away to WIGAN and they are on a total of 19 goals and they have now scored in all of their last six games. Wigan picked up their second blank of the season. FULHAM drew 0-0 after the full 90 minutes and then they lost 6-5 on penalties to Leeds Utd. That is Fulham’s second blank of the season. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY drew 2-2 against Southampton and then lost 4-2 on penalties. Wednesday are on a total of 8 goals. WATFORD lost 3-1 at home to Stoke and that is their 8th goal of the season. 

In League One, CHARLTON drew 1-1 away to Gillingham and that is their 7th goal of the season. PORTSMOUTH drew 2-2 at home to PLYMOUTH and they are on 8 goals to Plymouths total of 17. Plymouth have now scored in all of their last nine games.

Week Seven

Here in Week Seven of the competition we had two winners to share this weekends jackpot of £5. They are DANNY HARRINGTON and BAILEY MORAN  which now gives us a total of eight players to win this season. Our winners won on a total of 8 goals each. Danny started with Golden Goals back in the 2006/07 Season on where he finished in 43rd place with a total of 243 goals and one shared weekend win. Last season Danny finished in 45th place with 259 goals. This season he has had just one blank score sheet at the weekend and this is his highest position to date. His best team is Sunderland. Bailey is in his second season with us and he finished in 68th place with a total of 246 goals last season. This season Bailey has also picked up one blank weekend score sheet and this is his highest position to date. Sunderland is also his best team. Our winners teams are

We had a total of 34 players that picked up some midweek goals this week with eight picking up the highest score with four goals each. The race for the cash has changed from last week. WEEKEND RESULTS We had all of our 54 teams in action this weekend and out of them sixteen of them failed to score any goals. Once again is was not a very high scoring weekend as this weekend average score went down from six to just 4 goals this weekend. The Highest score over the weekend was four goals and they came from WIGAN. They won 4-1 away to Accrington. With their biggest result of the season, Wigan are now on a total of 13 goals. 

Wigan became our 83rd voted English team and they first appeared in the 1992/93 Season ending with a total of 51 goals. Their highest end of season score came in the 2017/18 Season with 106 goals, which is the only time that they have netted 100 or more goals in a season. Last season they finished on a total of 58 goals. This is their 14th Season with us and over the years they have netted a total of 893 goals, which gives them an average score of 63 goals per season to date. This season they have picked up just one blank score sheet out of nine games played. They have just one vote. 

PREMIER LEAGUE 

After five league games, CHELSEA are top this weekend after they won 3-0 away to TOTTENHAM. Chelsea have now scored in all of their five games and they are on a total of 12 goals. Tottenham have picked up their second blank of the season and now two in a row. LIVERPOOL have moved up to second place as they win 3-0 at home to CRYSTAL PALACE. Liverpool are also now on a total of 12 goals and a goal run of five games.  Palace have picked up their fourth blank in six games. MANCHESTER UNITED drop down to third place after they won 2-1 away to WEST HAM. United are on a total of 13 goals and have scored in their first five games. West Ham picked up goal number 11. ASTON VILLA won 3-0 at home against Everton and they are now on a total of 14 goals. ARSENAL have won their second consecutive league game by winning 1-0 away to Burnley. Arsenal are on 8 goals. MANCHESTER CITY drew 0-0 at home to Southampton and that is their second blank score sheet in five games. After a two game dry spell for goals, WATFORD are now on a total of 7 goals as they win 3-1 away to bottom of the table Norwich. WOLVES lost 2-0 at home to BRENTFORD and that is their fourth blank of the season as Brentford take their goals tally to 8. BRIGHTON won 2-1 at home to LEICESTER CITY to give them a total of 9 goals to Leicester’s 5. 

CHAMPIONSHIP

FULHAM are still in second place as they lost again 2-1 at home to READING. Fulham are on 20 goals while Reading are on 15. WEST BROM are now in third place after they drew 1-1 away to PRESTON. West Brom picked up goal number 14 to Preston’s 16. BARNSLEY picked up their fourth blank after they drew 0-0 at home to Blackburn. After a two game dry spell, it’s 10 goals for DERBY as they win 2-1 at home to Stoke. Bottom of the table NOTTINGHAM FOREST won their first league game with a  2-1 away win over Huddersfield. Forest are on 9 goals. After a record six games without a goal, HULL picked up their sixth goal of the season but lost 2-1 at home to SHEFFIELD UNITED. United are on a total of 15 goals. After a two game dry spell for goals, SWANSEA drew 3-3 away to Luton after going three goals down. Swansea are now on a total of 14 goals. PETERBOROUGH picked up their highest result to date as they win 3-0 at home to Birmingham.

Rotherham are on 11 goals this week. It’s now two blanks in a row and three for the season as OXFORD UNITED lost 1-0 away to Cheltenham. BURTON ALBION picked up their third as they lost 2-0 away to Crewe. Burton have netted just two goals in their last five games. LINCOLN CITY lost 1-0 at home to IPSWICH. Lincoln picked up their third blank score sheet while Ipswich picked up goal number 11 and are on a goal run of six games. After failing to score in their last three games, PORTSMOUTH picked up goal number 6 as they lost 2-1 at home to Cambridge Utd. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY drew 1-1 at home to Shewsbury and that is goal number six after they failed to score in their last two games. WYCOMBE won 2-1 at home to CHARLTON and they are on 12 goals to Charlton’s 6.

The highest team that we have here is now EXETER CITY in fifth place. They won their third league game 2-0 at home to SUTTON UNITED. Exeter are on 11 goals while Sutton picked up their second blank of the season. CARLISLE drew 2-2 at home to SCUNTHORPE. Carlisle have now scored in all of their last five games and are on 9 goals. Scunthorpe after a two game dry spell are on 6. SWINDON picked up another single goal as they drew 1-1 away to Northampton. They have now picked up a total of 9 goals with five goals coming in their last five games. STEVENAGE lost 4-0 at home to Forest Green and that is their second blank of the season. SALFORD CITY picked up their third as they lost 2-0 away to Tranmere.

ABERDEEN picked up their second consecutive blank score sheet after they lost 1-0 at home to St Johnstone.

SHEFIELD UNITED won 6-2 at home to PETERBOROUGH in the league in Week Six.

CHRIS BOLBERY is in his fifth consecutive weekend at the top and now six weeks out of the seven played. He picked up a total of five goals for the week. Chris’s teams are Bournemouth, Celtic and Sunderland. He is just three goals in front of second place Guy Dowsett (2) who picked up a total of seven goals all from the weekend with Kelty Hearts, Liverpool and Rangers.

Fulhams Win Moves Them Top

In the Championship, FULHAM are now top of the league after they won 4-1 away to Birmingham. Fulham have taken their goals tally up to 19 goals. CARDIFF CITY picked up their second blank of the season as they lost 1-0 away to Coventry. NOTTINGHAM FOREST lost 2-0 at home to Middlesbrough and that is their third blank score sheet. Forest are still bottom of the league. BARNSLEY picked up goal number six as they drew 1-1 away to Stoke. SWANSEA CITY drew 0-0 at home to Millwall to pick up their third blank and now two in a row.

West Brom Drop Points

In the Championship, WEST BROM lost points as they drew 0-0 at home to DERBY to remain top. That is West Broms second blank of the season while Derby picked up their third and now two in a row.  BOURNEMOUTH have moved up to second place after they won 2-1 at home to QPR. Bournemouth are on 18 goals. HULL picked up their sixth blank score sheet and now six in a row after they lost 2-0 away to Blackburn Rovers. There were more goals for SHEFFIELD UNITED as they drew 2-2 at home to PRESTON. United are now on a total of 12 goals while Preston are on 15. READING picked up another three goals as they win 3-1 at home to PETERBOROUGH. Reading are now on a total of 13 goals while Borough picked up goal number 7. 

In League One, LINCOLN CITY drew 1-1 at home to ROTHERHAM and they are now on a total of 12 goals to Rotherham’s 9. 

In League Two, SUTTON UNITED are moving up as they win 1-0 at home to Hartlepool. Sutton are on 8 goals.

Week Six

Here in Week Six of the competition we have had our first Rollover of the season worth £10 this weekend and it went to our 1994/95 Champion GEOFF DOCKERILL. He becomes our sixth player to win some cash this season. Geoff won on a total of 12 goals which is his personal best and our top score of the season to date. Geoff has been with Golden Goals for over thirty years as he started with us back in the 1990/91 Season. In that season Geoff finished in 30th place with a total of 232 goals. He picked up just one shared weekend win of 66 pence. Geoff became Champion in the 1994/95 Season as we have already said and he won with a total of 274 goals which leaves him in 36th place in our Champions League. Last season He finished in 82nd place with a total of 240 goals but failed to pick up any cash. This season Geoff has picked up two weekend blank score sheets and this is his highest position to date. His winning teams are

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT With no goals during midweek this week the race for the cash has remained the same again as last week. In the lead we have GEOFF CARTHY and RICKY WOOD our 2007/08 Champion, both are on a total of 23 goals. In second place we have PETER PORTER on a total of 22 goals. In third place all with 19 goals we have RAYMOND HARROD, LUCIFER and BOB SAWYER. In fourth place we have TOBY BICKNELL, GUY DOWSETT (2), SCOTT THOMSON (1), EMMA SAWYER and BOB SOPER. All are on a total of 18 goals. 

WEEKEND RESULTS 

We had all but one of our teams in action this weekend and out of them eighteen of them failed to score any goals. Although not a high scoring weekend, this weekend the average score went up to 6 goals. The Highest score over the weekend was six goals and they came from SHEFFIELD UNITED. They won 6-2 at home to PETERBOROUGH with their biggest score of the season and their first league win after six games. United are now on a total of 10 goals while Borough are on 6 goals after a two game dry spell. 

Sheffield United are our 79th voted English team and they first appeared in the 1990/91 Season and they finished with a total of 42 goals. Their highest score came in the 2011/12 Season with 104 goals which is the only time that they have hit 100 goals. Last time out was in the 2019/18 Season and they finished with a total of 48 goals. This is their 20th season with Golden Goals and over the years they have scored a total of 1381 goals, which gives them an average score of 69 goals per season. They have just one vote this season. 

PREMIER LEAGUE 

MANCHESTER UNITED are top this weekend after they won 4-1 at home to Newcastle. United have scored in all of their four games this season and they are now on a total of 11 goals. CHELSEA are in second place as they win 3-0 at home against ASTON VILLA. Chelsea have also scored in all of their four games and they are on a total of 9 goals. Villa picked up their first blank of the season. LIVERPOOL are in third place as they win 3-0 away to Leeds United. Liverpool are now on a total of 9 goals. ARSENAL have picked up their first league win of the season as they win 1-0 at home to bottom of the table Norwich. Arsenal are on 7 goals. BRENTFORD lost 1-0 at home to BRIGHTON and that is their second blank of the season. Brighton are on 7 goals. CRYSTAL PALACE won 3-0 at home to TOTTENHAM. With their biggest result of the season to date, Palace are on a total of 5 goals as Tottenham picked up their first blank fo the season. LEICESTER CITY lost 1-0 at home to MANCHESTER CITY and that is their first blank score sheet. City hit goal number 11. WEST HAM picked up their first blank score sheet after they drew 0-0 away to Southampton. WATFORD lost 2-0 at home to WOLVES. Watford have now had three blank score sheets while Wolves are on 6 goals.  

CHAMPIONSHIP 

WEST BROM are top here after they drew 1-1 at home to Millwall to pick up their 13th goal of the season. FULHAM are in second place as they lost 1-0 away to Blackpool. That is Fulham's first blank of the season after a goal run of six games. After a two game dry spell for goals, BORNEMOUTH won 3-0 at home to BARNSLEY. Bournemouth are now on a total of 16 goals while Barnsley picked up their third blank of the season. PRESTON picked up their second blank score sheet after they drew 0-0 away to Bristol City. READING picked up their highest result of the season as they drew 3-3 at home to QPR. Reading are now on a total of 10 goals. SWANSEA drew 0-0 at home to HULL and that is their second blank to Hull’s five and now five games in a row. NOTTINGHAM FOREST are bottom of the league after they lost 2-1 at home to CARDIFF CITY. Forest are on a total of 7 goals to Cardiff’s 14. 

LEAGUE ONE 

SUNDERLAND are still top here this weekend as win 2-0 at home to Accrington. Sunderland are on a total of 15 goals. WIGAN are in second place as they win 2-1 at home to Doncaster. Wigan are on 9 goals. After a three game dry spell for goals, BOLTON are in third place as they win 5-2 away to IPSWICH. With their biggest result this season, Bolton are now on a total of 14 goals. Ipswich are on 10 goals and they have scored in all of their last five games. BURTON drew 1-1 at home to Gillingham and they are on 7 goals this week. LINCOLN CITY picked up their biggest win to date as they win 5-1 away to Cambridge Utd. Lincoln are now on a total of 11 goals. CHARLTON lost 2-1 at home to Cheltenham and they are on a total of 5 goals. PORTSMOUTH lost 1-0 away to MK Dons and that is their third blank and now three in a row. OXFORD UNITED drew 0-0 at home to WYCOMBE and that is both their second blank of the season. PLYMOUTH won 3-0 at home to SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY. Plymouth have now scored in all of their seven games and are on a total of 14 goals. Wednesday picked up their fourth blank and now two in a row. ROTHERHAM lost 4-2 at home to Fleetwood and they are on a total of 8 goals. 

LEAGUE TWO 

The highest team that we have here are SWINDON and they fallen down to seventh place after they lost 2-1 at home to Port Vale. Swindon are on 8 goals. CARLISLE lost 2-1 away to Crawley to pick up goal number 7. It’s 10 goals for SALFORD CITY as they win 1-0 at home to Bradford. EXETER CITY picked up another four goals as they win 4-0 away to SCUNTHORPE. Exeter are now on a total of 9 goals while Scunthorpe picked up their fourth blank and now two in a row. SUTTON won 2-1 at home to SEVENAGE and they are on a total of 7 goals to Sevenage 11.

In the Premiership, RANGERS go top after they won 2-1 away to St Johnstone. Rangers are on 15 goals. HEARTS drop down to third place after they drew 0-0 at home to Hibernian. That is Hearts first blank of the season after a goal run of nine games. CELTIC won 3-0 at home to Ross County and they are now on a total of 19 goals. ABERDEEN picked up their first blank score sheet after they lost 2-0 away to Motherwell. 

In the Championship, KILMARNOCK are in second place after they won 1-0 at home to Morton. Kilmarnock are on 13 goals. 

In League Two, KELTY HEARTS drew 1-1 at home to Elgin City to remain in top position and that is their 21st goal of the season. STENHOUSEMUIR won 2-1 away to Annan and they are on 11 goals this week. 

Our on-form team is PLYMOUTH after scoring in all of their last seven Cup/League games with a total of 14 goals. 

Our worst team this week are HULL as they have picked up fifth consecutive blank score sheets out of seven games played.

Our highest goal scorers in our 39th Season in our ever growing list are CELTIC who have now hit six goals twice. They first won 6-0 at home against Dundee in their second league game in Week One and again 6-0 at home in their third league game in Week Three. ARSENAL beat West Brom 6-0 away and ASTON VILLA won 6-0 away to Barrow both in the second round of the Carabao/League Cup in Week Four. SHEFIELD UNITED won 6-2 at home to PETERBOROUGH in the league in Week Six. 

CHRIS BOLBERY is in his fourth consecutive weekend at the top and now five weeks out of the six played. He picked up a total of eight goals at the weekend. Chris’s teams are Bournemouth, Celtic and Sunderland. He is now four goals in front of second place Peter Porter who has Bournemouth, Rangers and Sunderland. 

At the other end at 113 we have SANDRA NICHOLLS this weekend making her the fourth player to be there this season. Sandra picked up just one goal from Brighton this weekend and her teams are Brighton, Leicester City and West Ham.

Derby Now 16th

In the Championship DERBY picked up their second blank of the season after they lost 2-0 away to Birmingham City. Derby have moved down to 16th place and have now lost two of their six league games.

Bolton and Burton Draw

In League One, BOLTON drew 0-0 at home to BURTON ALBION and that is their fourth blank and now three in a row. Burton picked up their second blank and now just one goal in their last three games. Both have a vote each this season.

Week Five

Here in Week Five of the competition we have had our first covid-19 casualty of the season and they are the new boys SUTTON UNITED. They were due to play Colchester away at the weekend but the game was cancelled and will be replayed later in the season, which is good news. Sutton have just one vote this season and they are on a total of 5 goals.

The Highest score over the weekend was two goals and they came from CARLISLE UNITED. They won 2-1 at home to SALFORD CITY. Carlisle are on 6 goals while Salford picked up goal number 9. Carlisle United became our 59th voted English team and they first appeared in the 1986/87 Season where they finished on a total of 43 goals. Their highest score came in the 1996/97 Season with 81 goals. Last time out as back in the 2012/13 Season and they finished on a total of 63 goals. This is their seventh season with Golden Goals and over the years they have netted a total of 367 goals, which gives them an average score of 52 goals per season to date. This season they have just one vote. 

LEAGUE ONE 

Sunderland are top here this weekend as we only had one of our teams in action this weekend. They were OXFORD UNITED and they lost 3-1 away to AFC Wimbledon. Oxford are on a total of 10 goals and they remain in seventh place in the league. 

LEAGUE TWO 

The highest team that we have here are SWINDON and they remain in fourth place after they drew 1-1 away to STEVENAGE. After seven games that they have played in, Swindon are on 7 goals. Steveange picked up goal number 10. EXETER CITY drew 0-0 at home against Forest Green and that is their fifth blank of the season. SCUNTHORPE picked up their first third blank score sheet after they lost 2-0 away to Northampton.
