Week Eight

We had a good weekend really from our teams as all of us have picked up some goals this weekend but we had nine teams that failed to score any goals and Rangers had no game.
The highest score that we had came from the Scottish Championship where HEARTS won 5-0 at home to Livingston. They remained top of the Championship this weekend and they are now on 24 goals and now our leading top scorer’s for  the Scott's. This is Hearts 10th Season with Golden Goals and they are not really a high scoring team by the end of the season. The highest that they have finished on is 92 goals back in our 1987/88 Season. The last time out for Hearts was back in our 2006/07 Season where they finished on a total of 55 goals. Lowest score is of  just 50 goals back in our 1998/99 Season.

PREMIERSHIP

BRISTOL CITY are still top here again as they win 3-2 at home to MK DONS. It’s their fourth game in a row of netting three goals in a game and they are now on a total of 22 goals. In second place is PETERBOROUGH as they win 1-0 at home to Fleetwood to pick up their 13th goalof the season.  PRESTON beat COVENTRY 2-0 away to take their goals tally to 19. SCUNTHORPE are on 11goals but lost 3-2 away to Oldham. DONCASTER lost 3-0 away to Walsall and picked up their 4th blank of the season.

LEAGUE TWO
BURY are still our highest team here in third place as they lost 2-1 away to Exeter. Bury are now on a total of 18 goals. LUTON win 2-0 at home to Oxford and are now on 9 goals. CELTIC won 2-1 away to St Mirren and are now on a total of 18 goals. DUNFERMILNE are on 17 goals as they win 3-0 at home to Peterhead. After a two game dry spell for goals, STENHOUSEMUIR won 2-1 at home to Morton and are now on 12 goals.

THE BEST THREE TEAMS ARE…

MK DONS (32) HEARTS (24) NORWICH (23) Total of 79 goals.

THE WORST THREE TEAMS ARE…

QPR (4) ROTHERHAM (7) LUTON (9)  Total of 20 goals.

QUEENS PARK RANGERS are still our worst team to date for this season. After seven games which are six league and a cup game, Rangers have only picked up four goal so far. They have had four blank score sheets and just one vote this season.

MANCHESTER CITY  have picked up our highest score of  the season when they won their Capital One Cup third round tie against Sheffield Wednesday 7-0 at home.

After Manchester City scored that record breaking end of season score of 137 goals last season, I thought that we would shadow them through this season as we did with Peterborough last season. We will pick them up at week eight in the competition. Last season, City had a total of 19 goals after their first seven games played. They had just one blank score sheet from week six and their highest score was five goals. This season after their first seven games they are also now on 19 goals and they have also had just one blank score sheet. How strange is that? but the difference is that they have had a high score of seven goals to date. They had 27 votes last season while this season they have a total of 54.
Below is how the top five look this week with KeithThomson remaining top after three straight weekends.
