Week Twelve

With another full league fixture this weekend our teams did not perform well, although we only had seven of our teams that failed to score any goals, most of our top teams picked up just one goal. Again we had three goals as our highest score and we had five teams that picked them up.
 
PREMIERSHIP
CHELSEA remain top and now four points clear of Southampton as they drew 1-1 away to MAN UTD. Chelsea are now on 26 goals but they keep their 100% scoring record going after ten games. United picked up goal number 16. MAN CITY move down to third place after they lost 2-1 to West Ham and that’s not a miss print. City are on 26 goals. After West Ham in fourth place, ARSENAL are in fifth place as they win 2-0 away to Sunderland to take their goals tally to 16. LIVERPOOL picked up their 2nd blank of the season as they drew 0-0 at home to Hull. CYRSTAL PALACE are on 18 goals as they drew 2-2 away to West Brom. EVERTON are on 19 as they win 3-1 away to Burnley while TOTTENHAM picked up goal number 14 as they lost 2-1 at home to Newcastle.
 
CHAMPIONSHIP
It’s all change once again at the top in this one as DERBY take the lead after they won in midweek but lost 2-1 at home to WIGAN at the weekend. Derby are on 29 goals while Wigan after a two game dry spell, take their goals total to 15. WATFORD move down to second place as they drew 1-1 away to Middlesbrough to pick up goal number 28. WOLVES are third as they beat LEEDS 2-1 away. Wolves are on 23 goals and have scored in all of their last eight games. Leeds are on 17 goals. NORWICH are down to sixth as they drew 0-0 away to Sheffield Wednesday. That was their 5th blank of  the season. ROTHERHAM are on 16 goals as they drew 1-1 away to Brighton while READING after a two game dry spell for goals won 3-0 at home against Blackpool.  CARDIFF picked up their 5th blank score sheet as they lost 1-0 away to Millwall. NOTTINGHAM FOREST lost 3-1 at home to Blackburn. Forest are now on a total of 27 goals.
 
LEAGUE ONE
BRISTOL CITY are once again still top here as they drew 2-2 away to BARNSLEY. City have picked up four goals this week and their goals total is now 33. Barnsley are now on 22. PRESTON are now in second place as they win 3-2 at home to Fleetwood. Preston’s goal tally is now 29 goals and they still have a 100% scoring record after fifteen games. PETERBOROUGH have moved down to four as they lost 3-2 away to COVENTRY. Borough are on 23 goals while Coventry are now on 19. Fifth is SHEFFIELD UNITED as they win just 1-0 away to Crewe to pick up goal number 26 United have now scored in all of their last fourteen games. DONCASTER picked up their 6th blank of the season and now two games in a row as they drew 0-0 at home to MK DON. The Don’s picked up blank number three. LEYTON ORIENT lost 3-0 away to Port Vale and picked up their 6th blank of the season. SCUNTHORPE picked up their 5th as they lost 1-0 at home to Notts County.
 
LEAGUE TWO                                                                                                         
LUTON have gone top here this week as they win 1-0 at home to Northampton. Luton are on a total of 19 goals.  BURY have dropped down to fifth place after their big midweek defeat but they drew 1-1 away to Southend at the weekend. Bury are on 26 goals. It’s 16 goals for PORTSMOUTH as they lost 2-1 away to Shrewsbury while STEVENAGE won 1-0 at home to give them a total of 19 goals.
 
SCOTTISH LEAGUES                                                                                                                       
We have had another  very good weekend for goals from our Scottish teams as all five have picked up some more goals for us. CELTIC won 2-0 at home against Kilmarnock and are now on 25 goals while RANGERS won 3-0 away to Dumbarton and are now on 33 goals. HEARTS are on 34 as they drew 1-1 away to Hibs. DUNFERMLINE are on 21 as they lost 2-1 at home to Morton. STENHOUSEMIR also lost 2-1 at home against Peterhead. Stenhousemuir are on a total of 19 goals.
 
THE BEST THREE TEAMS ARE…  

MK DONS (36) HEARTS (34) RANGERS (33) Total of 103 goals.
 
THE WORST THREE TEAMS ARE…  

QPR (6) TOTTENHAM (14) WIGAN (15) Total of 35 goals.
 
QUEENS PARK RANGERS are still our worst team to date for this season. After a total of nine games, in which eight are league games and a cup game, Rangers have only picked up six goals so far. They have had five blank score sheets.
 
MANCHESTER CITY  have picked up our highest score of  the season when they won their Capital One Cup third round tie against Sheffield Wednesday 7-0 at home.
 
PORTSMOUTH our second worst team have picked up the most number of blank score sheets this season with seven in seventeen games. They have now scored a total of five goals in their last four games.
 
As you know, we are following Manchester City scored a record breaking end of season score of 137 goals last season, In Week twelve last season, City had no midweek game once again but at the weekend they picked up just one goal. Their goals tally have now moved up to 26 goals after their first ten games played. They had just one blank score sheet from week six and their highest score was still five goals.
This season they also had no midweek and at the weekend they also picked up just one goal against West Ham which means that they are also on 26 goals this weekend. They have had just one blank score sheet to date. They are away to Aston Villa this weekend.
