Week Thirty-Six

This weekend the average score went back up to 5 goals as we had one hell of a weekend for goals even though we had nine teams that failed to score any goals and another three teams that had no game over the weekend.
The highest score that we had was four goals and we had two teams that picked that lot up and they are both not doing all that well with goals this season.
From the English prem a shock with MANCHESTER UNITED beat rivals MANCHESTER CITY 4-2 at home. United are still third in the prem and they are now on a total of 68 goals. City have now taken their goals total to 74 and remain fourth. In Scotland RANGERS beat Raith 4-0 at home to take their goals total to 73 after a very disappointing result in midweek when they lost 3-0 away to Queen of the South.

PREMIERSHIP
CHELSEA are still top and still seven points clear of Arsenal as they both win. Chelsea won 1-0 away to QPR and picked up their 80th goal of the season. Rangers picked up their 12th blank of the season. ARSENAL won 1-0 away to Burnley and are now on 73 goals. TOTTENHAM picked up their second blank in a row and now a total of nine over the season as they lost 1-0 at home to Aston Villa. We have not had a big score from CRYSTAL PALACE for a long while but they won 4-1 away to Sunderland. Palace are now on 55 goals. EVERTON are on 43 as they drew 1-1 away to Swansea.

CHAMPIONSHIP
NORWICH are our top team here in second place as they win 2-1 away to Bolton to give them a total of 84 goals and they could beat their highest score of 102 goals. In the play-off zone we have just two teams out of the four as WATFORD in third place beat Millwall 2-0 away. Watford are now on 85 goals. Also there is DERBY but they drew 1-1 at home against Brentford. Derby are now on 89 goals. WOLVES lost 2-1 away to Birmingham and are now on 68 goals while its 60 goals for CARDIFF as they win 2-1 away to LEEDS. Leeds picked up goal number 50. ROTHERHAM picked up their 17th blank of the season as they went down 2-0 away to Middlesbrough. NOTTINGHAM FOREST picked up their 11th as they lost 1-0 at home to Huddersfield. LEAGUE ONE
BRISTOL CITY are still top here as they drew 1-1 away from PRESTON who are still in second place. City are on 87 goals while Preston hit goal number 83. Again we have just two of the four teams in the play-off zone. MK DONS are in third place as they drew 0-0 away to Port Vale. Not good news to the Dons as they are trying very hard to be the first team to reach 100 goals this season. They are now on 95 goals. SHEFFIELD UNITED are in fifth place as they drew 2-2 away to Oldham to give them a total of  82 goals. BARNSLEY picked up their 63rd goal of the season as they drew 1-1 at home to Chesterfield. SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In Scotland CELTIC drew 1-1 away to Inverness and that gave them goal number 88 while in the Championship. HEARTS lost 2-0 away to Hibs. THE BEST THREE TEAMS ARE…

MK DONS (95) HEARTS (92) DERBY (89) Total of 276 goals.

THE WORST THREE TEAMS ARE…

WIGAN (38) QPR (38) STENHOUSEMUIR (41) Total of 117 goals.

WIGAN are our worst team this weekend even though they had no game at the weekend. Wigan have played a total of 44 games and they have picked up a total of 19 blank score sheets to date.

HEARTS have picked up the highest score for this season with a 10-0 home win against Cowdenbeath in the league.

Manchester City had that record breaking end of season score of 137 goals last season. In Week thirty-six last season, City picked up two goals at the weekend. They are now on a total of 121 goals for the season after forty-three games played. They have had four blank score sheet’s and their highest score was seven goals against Norwich in the league.
This season they picked up one goal in midweek and two at the weekend. So City are now on a total of 74 goals this weekend and they have had a total of five blank score sheet after thirty-five games played. They are now 47 goals behind last seasons record run.

JOHN NICHOLLS is still at number 106 and that is now his 11th weekend there but he has moved up our Losers League  this weekend. John has now beaten Brian Gorman's score of 165 goals back in our 1989/90 Season and he has also beaten his own record set in our 2008/09 Season with 168 goals. John’s combination is Bristol City, Everton and Wigan. He has had a total of just two blank score sheets to date.

At the Top TOBY BICKNELL has still not started to climb up our Winners League but he just might do that on next weeks sheet. Being on a total of 260 goals this weekend, Toby has to beat Phil Mockler's score of 263 scored in our1989/90 Season which is our lowest winning score.

Here is how our top ten looks this weekend and as you can see, the prize money that they hope to win.
