Good Friday For Golden Goals

We had nineteen of our teams in action on Good Friday and out of them only three failed to find their opponents net. No high scores this time round but most picked up two.

In the Championship, we have three teams in the play-off zone and the highest one is now NORWICH in third place who won 1-0 away to Brighton. Norwich are now on a total of 80 goals. Next comes WATFORD in fourth place as they drew 2-2 away to DERBY who are now in sixth place. Watford take their goals tally to 81 while Derby, still our third highest scoring team of the season, are now on 86. WOLVES beat NOTTINGHAM FOREST 2-1 away and are now on 63 while Forest are on 67. ROTHERHAM picked up their 43rd goal of the season as they lost 2-1 away to Birmingham. FULHAM lost 4-1 at home to Brentford and picked up their 61st goal. WIGAN picked up their 18th blank of the season as they lost 1-0 away to Middlesbrough. CHARLTON lost 2-1 away to London rivals Millwall but they are now on 54 goals.

In League One, BRISTOL CITY are still top as they drew 1-1 away to Oldham. City are now on 83 goals. PRESTON are second as they win 1-0 at home to Rochdale and hit goal number 79. We have just two of the four teams in the play-off zone here. They are MK Dons and Sheffield United who both had no game. DONCASTER picked up their 14th blank of the season as they lost 3-0 at home against Bradford.  It’s 59 goals for SCUNTHORPE as they win 2-0 at home to PETERBOROUGH. Borough picked up their 15th blank score sheet and now two games in a row.

In League Two, BURY are our only team in the play-off zone in fourth place as they win 2-0 away to Cambridge United. Bury are now on 58 goals. STEVENAGE played their second game in midweek and drew this one 2-2 at home to Tranmere. Stevenage are now on 56 goals. LUTON are on 56 goals but lost 3-2 at home to Exeter. After a two games dry spell for goals, PORTSMOUTH drew 2-2 away to Carlisle and are now on 49 goals.

Only one of our Scottish teams played and they were CELTIC who won 2-0 away to St Mirren. Celtic are top of the Scottish Premiership and are now on a total of 85 goals and now eight points clear of Aberdeen in second place.
