Week Four

STEVEN CADWELL has become our fourth person to go top this weekend as he’s combination of teams pick him up a total of 15 goals for the week. He had six goals from midweek and nine from  the weekend with Berwick 2, Leyton Orient 2 and Rangers 5. A very close second this weekend is now TONY KING who also picked up a total of 15 goals for the week. Tony has Hull, QPR and Rangers.

At the other end, JOHN NICHOLLS is in his third weekend at number 119 as he picks up four in midweek from Newcastle and just one more goal at the weekend from his combination. The single goal came from Arsenal. His other teams are Bolton who had no game and Newcastle who picked up yet another blank score sheets this weekend.

In Week Four in our 33rd Season we had just one winner this weekend who picked up a total of 10 goals. This does not change our winners total of six players as our winner has already won some cash this season.
Our winner for his second win of the season goes to DANIEL GOODSON but this time he takes all of  the £5 Weekend Cash Prize Money.  Daniel shared the cash in week two and since then he has scored in every midweek and weekend. This weekend he picked up a total of 17 goals from his combination.  He has still had one blank score sheet from week one and his best team is Rangers netting him 22 of his total of 44 goals. This is the highest that he has been so far in the season. His teams are once again

MANCHESTER CITY 2, MIDDLEBROUGH 3, RANGERS 5

MIDWEEK RESULTS
We had thirty of our teams in action last week and one of them played twice. But out of them, seven failed to pick up any goals.
The highest score of the week came from two of our teams, EVERTON and RANGERS with five goals each both from our domestic cup games. EVERTON have made it through to the next round of the Capital One Cup as they beat Barnsley 5-3 after extra time in the second round. This is Everton’s highest score to date and that brings their goals tally up to 10 goals.
In the Scottish Communities League Cup Second Round RANGERS go through to round three after they won 5-0 away to Airdrie.
So starting off our cup games, in the Capital One Second Round games, we had a total of twenty Golden Goals teams in action. Out of them only ten of them have made it through to round three. We had three teams that picked up the highest score with four goals each. They came from CHARLTON, IPSWICH and NEWCASTLE. CHARLTON beat PETERBOROUGH 4-1 away and that takes their goals total to 13 while Borough picked up goal number seven. IPSWICH won 4-1 away to Doncaster after extra time with their biggest win of the season so far. Ipswich are now on 14 goals. NEWCASTLE also picked up their highest score as they win 4-1 at home to Northampton. Newcastle take their goals tally to six. Other teams through are MIDDLESBROUGH as they win 2-1 away to BURTON ALBION. Middlesbrough are now on 9 goals while Burton picked up goal number eight. HULL have made it through with a 1-0 home win over Rochdale. That was Hull’s 9th goal of the season. NORWICH won 2-1 away to Rotherham. Norwich are now on 7 goals. WOLVES beat Barnet 2-1 at home. But these are out of the competition. SHEFFIELD UNITED lost 3-0 away to Fulham to pick up their second blank of the season and out go PORT VALE are out as they drew 0-0 after extra time but then lost 5-3 on penalties.
In the Scottish Communities Cup Second Round we had six of our Scottish playing here and four of them have made it through to the next round. One of them, which is no surprise was HEARTS. They won their game 2-1 away to Forfar in extra time. Hearts have scored in all of their seven games that they have played this season and they are now on 19 goals. FALKIRK are also through with a 1-0 away win over Partick. Falkirk are now on 10 goals. HIBERNIAN are also through to the next round as they win just 1-0 at home to Stranraer. That was their 6th goal of the season. Out of the competition go BERWICK and QUEEN OF THE SOUTH, as they went down 1-0 at home to Morton. Queen’s picked up their very first blank of the season.

In the English Championship, BOLTON managed to score their first goal of the season last weekend and we thought that they were at last on the goal ladder, but how wrong we were. Bolton Played Blackburn away and drew 0-0. This was their 5th blank score sheet of the season and now just one goal in six games this season played. FALKIRK in the Scottish Championship won their game 2-1 at home to Dumbarton. They have now scored in all of their six games and they are now on a total of 12 goals. Both teams have just one vote each.s weekend.
