Week Fifteen

We did not have many of our teams in action over the weekend  but RICHARD WILLIAMS is now in his second weekend at the top. Richard’s combination of  teams did not have any games this weekend remains on a total of 119 goals. His teams are Hibernian, Manchester City and Rangers. He is still three goals clear of  DANIEL GOODSON who remains in second place after his teams also had no games like most of us this week. Daniel’s teams are Manchester City, Middlesbrough and Rangers.

At the other end, it’s still JOHN NICHOLLS now in his fourteenth weekend at number 119 as his combination also had no games.  His teams are Arsenal, Bolton and  Newcastle.

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Just one of us managed to pick up some more midweek goals this week and they all go to GARY BOLBERY who had Chesterfield. Gary is now on a total of 20 midweek goals and slightly behind the field now. His other teams are Chelsea and Derby.  So there was no change in the race for the cash this week.
CRAIG EVANS is in the lead this week with his teams of  Hearts, Manchester City and Middlesbrough. Craig has a  total of 41 goals. In second place we have DANIEL GOODSON with 37 goals.  In third place we have TONY KING on 35 goals, while in fourth place we have BARBARA BARNES (2), MARK HOWARD, NATHAN TREADWELL and RICHARD WILLIAMS all on a total of 34 goals. In Fifth place all on 33 goals we have ADRIAN BEW, JAMES HUNTER, TOM MACDONALD and DAVE WESTON.

This weekend it was AMANDA MORRISON that picked up the most number of goals from just one of her teams with five goals. Amanda picked them all up from Falkirk. Her other two teams are Arsenal and Manchester City. But sorry to say that due to the lack of Golden Goals teams in action over the weekend due to the Internationals,  Amanda has not picked up any cash. The good news is that this weekend we will have our fourth Rollover worth £10.

WEEKEND RESULTS
Okay so we only had twenty of our teams in action over the weekend but the good news to those who had any of their teams playing was that only four failed to score any goals. This means that twenty-eight of you did get some goals this weekend and a step nearer the top.
The highest score that we had came from the Scottish Championship where FALKIRK beat Alloa 5-0 at home. The result still leaves Falkirk in third place in the league and this is their third time of netting five goals in a game. They only have one vote this season.

LEAGUE ONE
We have two of our teams in the top five here with Burton Albion in fourth place. Their game was cancelled. WIGAN come next in fifth place as they win 2-0 away to Rochdale. With Wigan’s 8th league win of the season, they are now on a total of 29 goals. PORT VALE are now on 22 goals as they win 2-1 away to Barnsley. BLACKPOOL picked up their ninth blank score sheet and now three games in a row as they lost 2-0 at home against Doncaster. CHESTEFIELD picked up another goal this weekend as they lost 2-1 at home to Oldham. With five goals scored over the week, Chesterfield are now on a total of 28 goals. Can any one stop PETERBOROUGH from scoring as they win 2-1 at home to Fleetwood. Borough have extended their scoring run to nineteen games. They are on a total of 40 goals. SHEFFIELD UNITED drew 2-2 at home to SOUTHEND to take their goals tally to 32 goals while Southend reach to 20 goals. SWINDON are on 24 goals as they win 2-1 at home to SCUNTHORPE. Scunthorpe picked up goal number 24 and they have now scored in all of their last eight games.

LEAGUE TWO
PLYMOUTH are still our top team here in first place as they win 2-1 away to York. Plymouth are now on 28 goals. PORTSMOUTH are down again this weekend to fourth place as they drew 0-0 at home to AFC Wimbledon. That was their fifth blank score sheet this season. LEYTON ORIENT are down to seventh place as they lost 3-1 away to Hartlepool. Orient picked up their 34th goal. EXETER are now on 31 goals as they drew 2-2 at home to Crawley. LUTON have extended their goals run to sixteen games as they win 2-0 at home against Barnet. Luton are now on 35 goals. STEVENAGE drew 2-2 away to Yeovil and that takes them up to 25 goals.

SCOTTISH LEAGUES
In the Championship, the only other team to play for us was QUEEN OF THE SOUTH. They lost 2-0 away to Morton and that was their 6th blank score sheet of the season.
In the lower Leagues STENHOUSEMUIR are now on a total of 24 goals as they drew 2-2 at home to Forfar. BERWICK lost again 1-0 away to Annan. Berwick picked up their 3rd blank of the season but they are still in 8th place in the league. CLYDE won 4-2 at home to Elgin to take their total to 19 and up to 3rd place in league two.

OUR BEST THREE TEAMS ARE THIS WEEKEND

RANGERS (49) CELTIC (42) PETERBOROUGH (40) Total of 131 goals

OUR WORST THREE TEAMS ARE

BOLTON (10) WATFORD (11) BLACKPOOL (15) Total of 36 goals

Our worst team this week is still BOLTON as they had no game this week. They have had a total of eleven blank score sheets out of seventeen games played. They have scored just one goal in their last six games.

Our Best team this weekend is still RANGERS after scoring in all of their sixteen League/Cup games played, they are on a total of 49 goals which still gives them an average of three goals per game.

We have had five high scoring teams in our 33rd Season. From the Scottish Premiership CELTIC won 6-0 at home to Dundee in a league game in week seven while MANCHESTER CITY won 6-1 at home to Newcastle in the League in week nine. NEWCASTLE’S won 6-2 at home against Norwich in the League from week eleven. EVERTON won 6-2 at home in a league game against Sunderland. LEYTON ORIENT winning 6-1 at home to non-league team Stains Town in the first round of the FA Cup in week fourteen.

There was not much movement in the table this week, but it could all change next weekend
