Week Nine

In Week nine of the competition we have now had a total of seventeen winners for the season. Our winner won on his highest score of the season with 10 goals and it was LEE CLARK who becomes the third player to win the whole of the £6 cash prize money this season.
Lee is in his third season with Golden Goals. Starting in the 2015/16 Season, Lee finished in 40th place on 258 goals and had one weekend win worth £5. Last season Lee finished in the winning frame in second place on 343 goals winning £58 in cash. This season Lee has picked up just one blank score sheet and he had moved into the winning frame for the first time this season. His best team is Celtic netting 29 out of his total of 69 goals. His teams are

CELTIC 2, MANCHESTER UNITED 4, TOTTENHAM 4

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
The highest number of goals you could of picked up was nine but they all went to JESSICA BARNETT and CHRIS SETFORD. Jessica has Aston Villa, Fulham and Scunthorpe while Chris has Aston Villa, Celtic and Fulham.  So we had another big shake up in the race for the cash.
Leading the pack this week we now have RICKY WOOD moving up from second place with 36 goals. In joint second place both on 35 goals we have PHIL FRANCKSEN up from three and CHRIS SETFORD coming into the race. In third place we have TONY GUY (2) coming in and JULIE SOMERVILLE up from three last week. Both are on 34 goals. With 33 goals in joint fourth place we have SIMON DICKINSON and DAVE WOOD down from second place with MATT DORAN and GRAHAM PHILLIPS joining in them this week.

WEEKEND RESULTS
This weekend our average score has fallen down from six goals from last weekend to just 4 goals this weekend. The reason for that is that we had three of our teams with out a game and another fifteen teams that failed to score any goals.
The highest score that we had over the weekend came from the English Championship where HULL won 6-1 at home to BIRMINGHAM. With their biggest result of the season, Hull are now on a total of 22 goals. Birmingham picked up their 13th goal of the season.
Hull are one of our original teams that started in our very first season in 1983/84 where they were our 13th voted team in. They finished on a total of 78 goals. This is Hull’s ninth season but we had to wait till 2001/02 before we see them again on our pages where they finished on a total of 67 goals. In 2004/05 they scored their highest number of goals with 89 although a season later they picked up their lowest score with just 50 goals. Last time out was in the 20015/16 Season were they finished on a total of 83 goals. Over the nine seasons they have now scored a total of 587 goals which gives them an average score of 65 goals per season. This season they have had two blank score sheet out of their twelve games played. They have just one vote this season.
