Week Twenty-Eight

In Week Twenty-Eight of the competition we have had another two winners who won on a score of just 8 goals each and shared the Jackpot Cash Prize Money of £6. Both of our winners are second time winners this season. They are ROSE COLLINS and ANTHONY PIRES.
Rose last won some cash back in Week Seven which was our very first Rollover of the season. Rose is now the second highest earner this season to date. Rose has now had just two blank score sheets and this is her highest score since Christmas. Although Rose has kept in the winning frame since her big win, second place is still her best.
Anthony shared his first win in Week Ten and since then he has picked up another two blank score sheets giving him three over the season to date. He has not yet moved onto the first page but over the last couple of weeks, he is heading the right way now. Best position is 51st. Here is our winners combinations

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT
Most of us managed to pick up some more goals this week but just one of us managed to pick up the most amount of goals with nine. Our top scorer is ABBEY NEWMAN and she is now on a total of 59 midweek goals. They came from Birmingham with five goals from their two midweek games and Celtic with four. Manchester City, her third team had no game. There are now a total of 106 players that now are on a total of 50 or more midweek goals this week as another nine reached the halfway mark this week.
We have a new leader this week as ANDY EYLES moves up from second place with 79 goals. Andy has Celtic, Fulham and Liverpool who gave him five goals this week. In second place with 78 goals we have MATT DORAN moving up from three. In third place is PATRICK O’DONAGHUE down from first place last week with 77 goals. In fourth place we have TOBY BICKNELL moving up from five with 75 goals. In fifth place both on 74 goals we still have BARBARA BARNES (1) but Barbara is now joined with PHIL REEVE who moved down from four. In sixth place both on 73 goals we have A&A. CLARK coming back in with DAVE WOOD.

WEEKEND RESULTS
This weekend has been a bit of a nightmare as we had a total of sixteen of our teams without a game and another nine that failed to score any goals. The bad news is that this weekends average score has remained 4 goals again this weekend. There were nine players that picked up another blank score sheet of the season.
The highest score that we had this weekend was four goals and we had two of our teams that managed that score. They came from the League One where PETERBOROUGH won 4-0 at home to Oxford Utd. Borough have now scored a total of eight goals in their last two games and they are now on a total of 68 goals. In the Scottish WILLIAM HILL CUP fifth round, RANGERS won 4-1 away to Hamilton and they are now on a total of 72 goals.

PREMIER LEAGUE
Champions Liverpool are still top even though they had now game and the fact that we only had two of our teams in action this week. EVERTON won 3-1 at home to Crystal Palace and they are now on a total of 44 goals and now in seventh place in the league. SHEFFIELD UNITED won 2-1 at home to after going a goal down. United are now on a total of 34 goals and they are now in fifth place in the league. The league is suppose to be having a winter break, but we do have a limited fixture for the next couple of week. How does that work?

CHAMPIONSHIP
WEST BROM are still on top as they win 2-0 away to Millwall. West Brom have taken their goals total to 58. LEEDS UNITED are hanging on to second place after they lost yet again 2-0 away to NOTTINGHAM FOREST. That is now their eighth blank score sheet and now two in a row. Forest are now on 47 goals.
In the Play-Offs, we have all four teams with FULHAM still in third place as they win 1-0 away to BLACKBURN ROVERS. Fulham are now on 48 goals while Rovers picked up their fifth blank of the season. Nottingham Forest are in fourth place with BRENTFORD are still in fifth place after they won 3-2 at home to MIDDLESBROUGH. Brentford have taken their goals tally up to 54 goals. Brough are now on 36 goals. PRESTON have moved in to sixth place after they win 2-1 away to Wigan. Preston are now on 53 goals.
Meanwhile BARNSLEY drew 1-1 at home to SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY to give them a total of 42 goals to Wednesday’s 45. HUDDERSFIELD won 2-0 at home to QUEENS PARK RANGERS to take their score up to 37 goals while Rangers picked up their ninth blank and now two in a row. LUTON lost 1-0 at home to CARDIFF to get their twelfth blank and now two in a row while Cardiff hit goal number 53 and they have now scored in all of their last seven games.STOKE won 3-1 at home to Charlton and they are now on a total of 43 goals. DERBY won 3-2 away to Swansea and they are now on 44 goals.

LEAGUE ONE
Rotherham are still on top after their win on Friday night.
In the Play-Offs, we have three of the four teams with Peterborough in third place, PORTSMOUTH are now in fifth place after they won 2-0 away to Tranmere and are now on a total of 58 goals. SUNDERLAND have moved up to sixth place after they won 1-0 at home to IPSWICH. Sunderland have picked up their 47th goal of the season while Ipswich picked up their ninth blank score sheet and now just two goals in their last four games.
Meanwhile BLACKPOOL won 2-1 at home to SOUTHEND and they are now on a total of 47 goals while Southend hit goal number 36. DONCASTER drew 1-1 at home to Rochdale and they are now on 47 goals. MK DONS drew 1-1 away to Shrewsbury and they are now on 38 goals.

LEAGUE TWO
We now have one team in the Play-Offs this week as  PLYMOUTH drop down to fourth place after they 3-0 away to Colchester. That is Plymouths seventh blank of the season after a goal run of nine games.
Meanwhile BRADFORD CITY drew 1-1 at home to Grimsby and that is goal number 38 for them although they have scored just two goals in their last five games. OLDHAM are now on 39 goals as they lost 1-0 away to Crewe. FOREST GREEN ROVERS lost 2-1 at home to Walsall and they are now on 44 goals and have now scored in all of their last seven games. LEYTON ORIENT drew 1-1 at home to Macclesfield and they are now on 41 goals. MANSFIELD drew again 1-1 away to Morecambe and they are now on 47 goals. SALFORD CITY drew 0-0 at home to Crawley and that is their eleventh blank score sheet. SCUNTHORPE won 1-0 at home to Cheltenham and they are now on 42 goals.

SCOTTISH RESULTS
In the WILLIAM HILL CUP fifth round, we had four of our teams still in the competition. We already know that Rangers have made it through and so have CELTIC. They won 3-0 away to Clyde and that has now brought their goals tally up to 90 goals. Can Celtic make it to another 100 goals this season? Well I think we can say yes to that which would make it their tenth consecutive season, which is a Golden Goals record. HEARTS have also made it through as they win 1-0 away to FALKIRK. Hearts are now on a total of 41 goals while Falkirk picked up their eighth blank of the season. 
In League One, RAITH ROVERS are still top as they drew 1-1 away to Stranraer. Rovers are now on a total of 51 goals and they have now scored in all of their last seven games.
In League Two, COVE RANGERS are still top and now just three points clear as they lost their fourth league game 3-0 away to Elgin City. Rangers after scoring in all of their last thirteen games, picked up their third blank of the season. STENHOUSEMUIR drew 2-02 at home against Cowdenbeath and they are now on 35 goals.

Our on form team this weekend is PORTSMOUTH after they have scored in all of their last twenty-one games. They have a total of 58 goals which gives them an average score of 1.6 goals per game.

Our worst team this week is MK DONS They have picked up a total of thirteen blank score sheets in thirty-four games played. They have a total of 38 goals and two votes.

Our highest goal scorers in our 37th Season is LEICESTER CITY from Week Thirteen as the beat Southampton 9-0 away in the league.  

BRADLEY CLARK is celebrating his second weekend at the top and now three over the season. Bradley picked up a total of 8 goals this week with three of them coming from the weekend. He has Celtic, Liverpool and Manchester City. BARBARA BARNES (1) has remained in second place. Barbara picked up a total of 7 goals this week from her combination of Celtic, Leicester City and Manchester City.
At the other end at 123 The SAINT has remained at the bottom, as he picks up a total of four goals all coming from the weekend. This now means that The Saint has been at the bottom for a total of twenty-one weeks. His teams are Barnsley, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday.
