Week Five

Here we are with Week Five of the competition we had our seventh winner of the season not only did they collect the full £5 weekend jackpot but they also won the £65 Beat the Score of 18 goals. The current holder was Mark Rymer who picked up 18 goals in our 1998/99 Season in Week 29 at the weekend. They came from Arsenal 5, Celtic 7 and Rangers 6.

Our winner was SIMON DICKINSON who won not only on our highest score of the season but our highest score in our entire 40 year history with a record breaking total of 23 goals. This brings his winnings total to £70 this weekend. Simon started with Golden Goals back in the 2002/03 Season and I thank him for his long time support. Last season he finished in 103rd place with a total of 214 goals. He has started off well this season winning so much in one weekend. We congratulate him on his win. His teams are

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT

It was SANDRA NICHOLLS that picked up the most goals in midweek with six. They came from Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Leicester City who failed to score in their game. Who is in the lead for our 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot worth a total of £40 this week.

It has changed in the running for the top five and once again there are a few more that have now joined in the race for the cash this week. In the lead we still have LUCIFER (John Wood) with a total of 18 goals. In second place we now have HAYLEY ADKINS and STEVE AYRES both with 14 goals. In third place with 13 goals each we now have GUY DOWSETT (1) and RICKY WOOD our 2007/08 Champion. In fourth place we now have PETER PORTER and TERENCE WARWICK both with 11 goals. In fifth place we now have a total of eight players all with 10 goals each. 

WEEKEND RESULTS

We had another full fixture at the weekend and we had just two teams with no game over the weekend with another ten of our teams that failed to score any goals. We had a really crazy weekend for goals as our average score shot up from just four goals last weekend to 13 goals this weekend which is the highest this season. So if your combination picked up more than that, then you have done very well this weekend.

The Highest score over the weekend was 9 goals and they came from the Premier League LIVERPOOL winning 9-0 at home to BOURNEMOUTH and in the Scottish Premiership where CELTIC won 9-0 away to Dundee Utd. 

PREMIER LEAGUE

History has been made after LIVERPOOL won a staggering 9-0 at home to BOURNEMOUTH. Liverpool are now on a total of 13 goals and a goal run of four games, while Bournemouth picked up their 3rd blank of the season. ARSENAL are still top this weekend after they won 2-1 at home against FULHAM. Arsenal have now scored in all four games and are on a total of 11 goals. Fulham picked up goal number 6. Still two points behind Arsenal are MANCHESTER CITY after they won 4-2 at home to CYRSTAL PALACE. City are now on a total of 13 goals and have also now scored in all of their four games. Palace are on a total of 8 goals. EVERTON drew 1-1 away to Brentford and they are on a total of 4 goals. BRIGHTON won 1-0  at home against LEEDS UTD and they are on a total of 8 goals while Leeds picked up their first blank of the season. CHELSEA are on a total of 5 goals after they won 2-1 at home to LEICESTER CITY. Leicester picked up their 6th goal of the season. MANCHESTER UTD won 1-0 away to Southampton and they are on a total of 4 goals. WEST HAM are now on the score sheet after they won 1-0 away to ASTON VILLA. West Ham failed to score in their first three games so it’s a relief that they have started their season. Villa picked up their 2nd blank score sheet. TOTTENHAM won 2-0 away to Nottingham Forest and they are on a total of 9 goals and a goal run of four games. NEWCASTLE drew 1-1 away to Wolves and are on a total of 8 goals. 

CHAMPIONSHIP

READING are top here after they won 1-0 away to Millwall and they are on a total of 8 goals. Sheffield Utd are down to second place. HUDDERSFIELD drew 2-2 at home to WEST BROM and they have taken their goals tally to 8 goals. They have also now scored in all of their last five games. West Brom are on 11 goals. MIDDLESBROUGH won 2-1 at home to SWANSEA . Brough are on a total of 9 goals while Swansea are on 7 goals. SUNDERLAND lost 1-0 at home to NORWICH to pick up their 2nd blank of the season. Norwich have now scored in all of their last seven games and are on a total of 11 goals. After a two game dry spell for goals, WATFORD are on 6 goals as they lost 3-2 at home against QPR. BURNLEY picked up their biggest result of the season by winning 5-1 away to Wigan. Burnley are now on a total of 12 goals. 

LEAGUE ONE

IPSWICH are down to second place after they drew 2-2 at home to Barnsley. Ipswich are now on a total of 12 goals. With their biggest result of the season, SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY are now on a total of 17 goals after they won 5-0 at home to FOREST GREEN. Forest Green picked up their 3rd blank score sheet and now three in a row. BRISTOL ROVERS drew 1-1 at home to Shrewsbury and they are on a total of 8 goals. OXFORD UTD won 2-1 away to Cheltenham and are on a total of 7 goals. DERBY won 2-1 at home to PETERBOROUGH to take their goals total to 8 while Borough are on 15 goals. LINCOLN CITY drew 2-2 at home to Fleetwood and they are on a total of 11 goals. MK DONS picked up their biggest result of the season as they win 4-0 away to Morecambe. The Dons are now on a total of 10 goals. PLYMOUTH won 2-0 at home to Bolton and are on a total of 10 goals. CHARLTON drew1-1 away to Wycombe and they are on a total of 12 goals. 

LEAGUE TWO

The highest team that we have here are SALFORD CITY now in fourth place after they won 1-0 at home to Stevenage. Salford are now on a total of 11 goals and have a goal run of five games. AC WIMBLEDON lost 1-0 at home to second place Barrow and that is their 3rd blank of the season. BRADFORD drew 0-0 at home to Crewe and that is their 3rd blank score sheet. GILLINGHAM lost 1-0 away to Carlisle and they have picked up six blank score sheets and now no goals scored in their last five games. CRAWLEY TOWN drew 1-1 away to Rochdale and they are on a total of 6 goals. STOCKPORT COUNTY drew 1-1 at home to SWINDON and they are on a total of 8 goals while Swindon hit goal number six. SUTTON UTD won 2-1 at home to MANSFIELD TOWN and they are on a total of 5 goals after a two game dry spell. Mansfield are on 10 goals. 

SCOTTISH LEAGUES

In the Premiership CELTIC have remained on top after they picked up their biggest result of the season by winning 9-0 away to Dundee Utd. Celtic are now on a total of  21 goals and still have that 100% scoring record after five games played. RANGERS are in second place as they won 4-0 at home to Ross County.  Rangers have kept their 100% scoring record and they are now on a total of 14 goals after five games played. ABERDEEN won 5-0 at home against Livingston and they are now on a total of 24 goals and back up to third place. HEARTS won 3-2 at home against St Johnston and they are now on a total of 10 goals. HIBERNIAN lost 1-0 away to St Mirren. That is their 2nd blank of the season after a goal run of six games.

In League One ALLOA won 5-0 at home to Peterhead. Alloa with their biggest result of the season have taken their goals tally up to 16. KELTY HEARTS lost 1-0 away to Montrose. Kelty picked up their 7th blank of the season and now just one goal in their last six games with three blank score sheets in a row.

In League Two, new boys BONNYRIGG ROSE are now in second place after they won 1-0 at home to Stirling. Bonnyrigg pick up their 13th goal of the season. STENHOUSEMUIR won 2-1 away to Forfar and they are on a total of 12 goals. 

So lets have a look at our BEST three teams this week

Our WORST three teams are 

WEST HAM (1) GILLINGHAM (3) KELTY HEARTS (4) Total of 8 goals 

Our Best performing team are now CELTIC as they have now scored in all of their five league games played and have a total of 21 goals. 

Our worst performing team is KELTY HEARTS this weekend as they have picked up seven blank score sheets out of nine games played. 

Our highest goal scorers in our 40th Season are now CELTIC who won 9-0 away to Dundee Utd in the league and LIVERPOOL who won 9-0 at home to Bournemouth in the league both from Week Five.

SIMON DICKINSON becomes our second player to stay at number one this weekend after he picked up a total of 27 goals from the week. Simon’s teams are Celtic, Liverpool and Sheffield Wednesday.  Simon is just one goal in front of Hayley Adkins who moves back up to second place this weekend collecting a total of 19 goals this week from Aberdeen, Liverpool and Manchester City.

At the other end at 108 we still have MANDY WRIGHT who has now been there for three weeks. Mandy picked up just four goals this week with Bournemouth, Swansea and West Ham.
