Week Four

Here we are with Week Four of the competition we had three winners to share the £5 weekend jackpot which brings our winners total up to six this season. They are JAMES BLYTH, PATRICK O’DONOGHUE and JUNE TIGHE who all won on our lowest score of the season with 8 goals each. 

James started with Golden Goals in the 2015/16 Season on where he finished in 75th place with a total of 243 goals. Last season James finished in the winning frame in 17th place with 300 goals. This season we see James at his highest to date in 13th place. Patrick started in the 2017/18 Season on where he finished in 37th place with a total of 288 goals. He also picked up one shared weekend win. Last season he finished in 95th place with 233 goals. This season he has also is at his highest to date with his person best score. June is our first lady to win some cash this our 40th Season. June started with us in the 2016/17 Season although she has not been in every season since. As we have lost the records of that season, last season June finished in 111th place on 185 goals. This season June is at her highest position to date and this is also her best personal best score. Our winners teams are

100 MIDWEEK GOALS JACKPOT 

Who is in the lead for our 100 Midweek Goals Jackpot worth a total of £40 this week. It was STEVE AYRES that picked up the most goals in midweek with nine. They came from Norwich’s two games and Mansfield Town. His third team is Manchester City. A bit of a changed in the top five and once again there are a few more that have now joined in the race for the cash this week. In the lead we still have LUCIFER (John Wood) with a total of 18 goals. In second place we have HAYLEY ADKINS now with 13 goals. In third place with 12 goals we now have STEVE AYRES. In fourth place we still have GUY DOWSETT (1) with 11 goals. In fifth place with a total of 10 goals each we now have DAVID BARRETT and our 2009/10 Champion DAVE SOMERVILLE. 

WEEKEND RESULTS 

We had another full fixture at the weekend and we had just four teams with no game over the weekend with another sixteen of our teams that failed to score any goals. This weekend as the average score fell from six goals to just four. So if your combination picked up more than that, then you have done very well this weekend. The Highest score over the weekend was 5 goals and they came from Championship WEST BROM ALBION. They won 5-2 at home against Hull. With their biggest score to date, they are now on a total of 9 goals. 

West Brom became our 63rd voted English team when they joined in the 1986/87 Season on where they finished the season on a total of 54 goals. This is their sixteenth season with Golden Goals. Their biggest end of season total came in the 2007/08 Season with 109 goals. They have score 100 or more goals in a season twice. Last season they finished on a total of 53 goals. Over the years the have netted a total of 1073 goals which gives them an average score of 67 goals per season to date. This season they have just two votes and picked up just one blank score sheet.

PREMIER LEAGUE 

It’s all change here as ARSENAL are now top this weekend after they won 3-0 away to BOURNEMOUTH. Arsenal have now scored 9 goals in three games. Bournemouth picked up their 2nd blank score sheet and now two in a row. Two points behind them are MANCHESTER CITY after they drew 3-3 away to NEWCASTLE. City are now on a total of 9 goals while Newcastle are now on a total of take their goals tally to five with their biggest score to date. CRYSTAL PALACE picked up their biggest result as they win 3-1 at home against ASTON VILLA. Palace are now on a total of 4 goals as Villa picked up their third goal. EVERTON drew 1-1 at home to Nottingham Forest and they are on a total of 2 goals. FULHAM picked up their biggest result as they win 3-2 at home to Brentford. Fulham are on a total of 5 goals. LEICESTER CITY lost 2-1 at home to Southampton and they picked up goal number five. TOTTENHAM won 1-0 at home to Wolves and are on a total of 7 goals. LEEDS UNITED picked up their biggest result as they win 3-0 at home against CHELSEA. Leeds are now on a total of 7 goals as Chelsea picked up their first blank score sheet. WEST HAM lost 2-0 at home to BRIGHTON and have failed to score in their three opening games. Brighton are on a total of 4 goals. 

CHAMPIONSHIP 

The highest team that we have here are WATFORD in second place now. They drew 0-0 away to Preston and that is their first blank of the season. BURNLEY drew 3-3 at home to Blackpool and with their biggest result to date, Burnley are now on a total of 6 goals. READING won 1-0 at home to MIDDLESBROUGH and they are on a total of 7 goals while Brough picked up their 2nd blank score sheet. SUNDERLAND won 1-0 away to Stoke and they are on a total of 8 goals. SWANSEA lost 2-0 at home to LUTON and that is their 2nd blank score sheet. Luton after a two games with out a goal, have taken their goals tally to 5. 

LEAGUE ONE 

IPSWICH are still top here as they win 3-0 away to Shrewsbury. Ipswich are now on a total of 10 goals. PETERBOROUGH are in second place after they won 4-0 at home to LINCOLN CITY. With their biggest win of the season, Borough are now on a total of 14 goals while Lincoln picked up their 2nd blank score sheet. SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY are on a total of 9 goals after they won 2-0 away to Bolton. CHARLTON drew 1-1 at home to Cambridge Utd and are on a total of 10 goals. DERBY drew 0-0 away to Fleetwood and they have now had a total of three blank score sheets and now two in a row. FOREST GREEN lost 3-0 at home to PLYMOUTH and that is their first blank of the season while Plymouth, picked up their biggest result and are now on a total of 8 goals. MK DONS drew 1-1 at home to Accrington and they are on a total of 4 goals. OXFORD UTD drew 1-1 at home to Morecambe and they are on 5 goals. BRISTOL ROVERS lost 3-1 away to Portsmouth and they are on a total of 7 goals. 

LEAGUE TWO 

The highest team that we have here are SALFORD CITY down to sixth place. They lost 2-1 away to Doncaster and are now on a total of 10 goals. CRAWLEY TOWN lost 2-0 at home to AC WIMBLEDON to pick up their 4th blank of the season. Wimbledon are on a total of 8 goals. GILLINGHAM drew 0-0 at home to Walsall and they have picked up their 4th blank and now they have failed to score in their last three games. SUTTON UTD picked up their 3rd blank score sheet and now just one goal in their last four games as they drew 0-0 away to Grimsby. BRADFORD CITY won 2-1 away to Hartlepool and they are on a total of 9 goals. MANSFIELD won 2-1 at home to STOCKPORT COUNTY and they are on a total of 9 goals. Stockport have scored in all of their six games played and are on a total of 7 goals. SWINDON picked up their biggest result with a 3-0 home win against Rochdale. Swindon are now on a total of 5 goals. 

SCOTTISH LEAGUES 

In the Premiership CELTIC have remained on top after they won 2-0 at home against HEARTS. Celtic are now on a total of 12 goals and still have that 100% scoring record. Hearts are down to fourth place with their first blank of the season. RANGERS are in second place as they drew 2-2 away to HIBERNIAN. Rangers also keep their 100% scoring record and they are now on a total of 10 goals after four games played. Hibs have now scored in all of their last six games and they are on a total of 15 goals.  ABERDEEN won 1-0 away to St Johnston and that is their 19th goal of the season. 

In League One ALLOA lost 2-0 away to Airdrie and that is their 3rd blank of the season. KELTY HEARTS drew their fourth league game 0-0 at home to Dunfermline. Kelty picked up their 6th blank of the season and now just one goal in their last five games with two blank score sheets in a row. 

In League Two, new boys BONNYRIGG ROSE lost their fisrt league game 2-0 at home to Albion. After a goal run of seven games, Bonnyrigg pick up their first balnk score sheet. STENHOUSEMUIR lost 3-1 at home to Dumbarton. They are on a total of 10 goals. 

So lets have a look at our BEST three teams this week

Our WORST three teams are 

WEST HAM (0) MANCHESTER UNITED (1) BOURNEMOUTH (2) Total of 3 goals 

Our Best performing teams are now HIBERNIAN and STOCKPORT COUNTY have both now scored in all of their last six cup/league games. 

Our worst performing team is KELTY HEARTS this weekend as they have picked up six blank score sheets out of eight games played. 

Our highest goal scorers in our 40th Season are now CHARLTON who won 5-1 at home to Plymouth, and MANSFIELD TOWN 5-2 at home win against AFC Wimbledon. WEST BROM won 5-2 at home against Hull. All three were league games in Week Four. CELTIC won 5-0 away to Kilmarnock in the league in Week Three. ABERDEEN and HIBERNIAN have both picked up five goals each from their League Cup first round group stage. Aberdeen won 5-0 away to Stirling in their third league cup game. Hibernian won 5-0 at home to Clyde in their first league cup game. Both from Week One.  

LUCIFER (John Wood) is now in his fourth weekend at the top even after he picked up one goal from the weekend. Lucifer’s teams are Alloa, Bonnyrigg Rose and Stenhousemuir.  Lucifer is now just two goals in front of Vincent Cruickshank who moves up to second place this weekend collecting a total of 9 goals from Peterborough, Rangers and Tottenham.

At the other end at 108 we still have MANDY WRIGHT who picked up just two goals this week. Mandy has Bournemouth, Swansea and West Ham.
